The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Officially Goes Into Production

Ram Truck recently revealed that production of the highly-anticipated 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is officially underway at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The very first pickup that rolled off the assembly line – VIN Number 001 — is a Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition with an exclusive Anvil exterior paint color that’s bound to be auctioned off for charity. Ram Truck will provide additional auction details and instructions early next year (2021).

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) invested nearly $1.5 billion to retool the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in the lead up to the next-generation Ram 1500 that debuted in 2018. The plant was also tweaked to support the future growth and expansion of the Ram brand. More than 7,200 employees are presently hard at work building these award-winning pickup trucks. Engineered bolt by bolt to significantly eclipse every other truck in its segment, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has been put to the test in the most extreme conditions. Proven and reliable thanks to the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 engine that powers it, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will surely be no stranger to high-performance situations in the future. Rated at 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, this pickup is officially the quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced half-ton truck in the world.

The new 2021 Ram 1500 TRx just made headlines as it was named the winner of MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year Honor, marking the third consecutive time Ram Trucks takes top honors. Ram won for its redesigned Ram 1500 model in 2019, its revamped Ram Heavy Duty pickup in 2020, and now for its all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. As a commemorative measure, Ram Trucks announced the arrival of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition, limiting production to 702 units — all sold out within the first three hours. The Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition features exclusive Anvil Gray paint, with a special red interior and brushed-aluminum center console badge that identifies the pickup as the Launch Edition model.
