All automakers’ latest research indicates the most significant room for growth right now is in off-roading; it is the reason why different truck brands are strengthening their off-road vehicles. Ram has been one of the leaders in the industry, and the brand is adding two more special editions to stand out on the trails. New for 2023, the Ram 1500 Rebel and TRX will be available in Lunar editions. Furthermore, the Lunar package will be simple to spot on the trails in an exclusive Ceramic Gray exterior hue.Â
Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO, clarified the reasons for developing these special edition trucks: “Our passionate customers tell us their Ram trucks are an extension of their personality that allows them to stand out from the crowd. The Ram 1500 Rebel and TRX Lunar editions are great-looking trucks with easy-to-use features that do just that. We continue to listen to and deliver for them by offering the best combination of unique exterior and interior appointments and content for even greater personalization.”
More Room for Expression
Ram set itself apart from the other automakers by reinforcing more personalization directly from the factory. The Ram 1500 Rebel Lunar Edition continues that streak. The automobile is available with the Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group and the 5.7-liter HEMI eTorque V-8 engine. The amenities are also plentiful, with the Ram 1500 Rebel Lunar Edition sporting black side-view mirrors, a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen unit with programmable off-road Pages, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats and steering wheel.Â
Aside from the mentioned features, the Lunar package also boasts the exclusive Ceramic Gray exterior paint color, unique black bumper, badging, and grille, Rebel graphics on the bed and hood, and 18-inch gloss black wheels. The Ram 1500 Rebel Lunar Edition is available with a beginning price tag of $70,310 MSRP, plus a $1,895 destination fee.Â
The Powerhouse
The Ram 1500 TRX already draws attention because of its formidable horsepower. Rated at 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine accelerates the Ram TRX to a top speed of 118 miles per hour. Indeed, the Ram TRX generates a new level of performance: 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 miles per hour. Now, the Lunar Edition provides performance truck owners greater opportunities for personalization straight from the factory, more graphics, and technology.
Like the Ram 1500 Rebel Lunar Edition, the Ram 1500 TRX Lunar Edition improves the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group and incorporates an exclusive Ceramic Gray exterior color. It also features specific bed graphics, a TRX hood, and 18-inch black bead-lock capable wheels. The dual pane panoramic sunroof will provide off-roaders a fabulous view of the sky whether it is day or night. In addition, the TRX Lunar Edition is outfitted with cargo tie-downs, an LED cab-mounted brake light, a bed step, and a spray-in bedliner.
Creature Comforts
Inside, the TRX Lunar Edition integrates carbon-fiber accents, Surf Blue accent stitching, a center console badge, an embroidered “TRX” seat back logo, a leather and carbon-fiber flat–bottom steering wheel, and a Head-up Display. The vehicle houses a series of safety features, such as Lane Keep Assist, pedestrian emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
The Ram 1500 TRX Lunar Edition has a starting cost of $106,445 MSRP, plus $1,895 in destination charges. Both the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel and 2023 TRX Lunar editions will be available in extremely limited quantities later this spring.
