Highlights for the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
A best-selling SUV for Mitsubishi Motors, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the more daring sibling of the Outlander family. Designed to go off-road, every Outlander Sport unit comes adventure-ready with Mitsubishi’s All-Wheel Control (AWC) included as a standard for equipment. Not many changes have been made this year, but the sport SUV charges on. Check out the highlights for the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
Trims and Powertrain
It’s unclear if the 2025 model year will cut down the lineup or keep all six trims. The standard engine is still a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve I4 engine that generates 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. Another engine for the SEL and GT for 2024 was a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve I4 that generates 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque, and we expect it to be the same for 2025. As mentioned, the Outlander Sport comes with AWC, engineered to handle various types of terrain. Consumers can push the limits of an SUV with the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
Design
An award-winning package for the 2025 model year, the design of the Outlander Sport remains mostly the same, a shorter model of its namesake. Offering many standard features and equipment, the 2025 is expected to also offer automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), LED tail lights, LED low and high beam headlights, and rear privacy glass. Bits of comfort such as automatic climate control, rear heater ducts are also standard, plus a 60/40 folding rear bench seat. The standard upholstery for the Outlander Sport is still fabric, with no news about leather-trimmed seats in sight. Past the base trim, luxuries like heated front seats, a leather-wrapped gear shift knob, and leather-wrapped steering wheel are added.
Technology
Once a culmination of various brands, Mitsubishi Motors has evolved to introduce an infotainment system of its own, the smartphone-link display audio system (SDA). Standard on a 7-inch touchscreen display, with an SDA on an 8-inch touchscreen past the base trim. The Outlander Sport also comes with a 4-speaker sound system for the standard setup. The SDA is capable of Bluetooth wireless technology, HD Radio, features a rearview camera, and offers steering wheel audio and phone controls. Consumers can opt-in for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, SiriusXM Satellite Radio 3-month trial, and steering wheel voice recognition control past the base trim.
As far as the PR goes, the main change Mitsubishi is making to the 2025 Outlander sport is the addition of a Rear Seat Alert, first popping up models produced in October, then the rest of the 2025 model year production lineup. Some of us can be a little forgetful, and a reminder is helpful for keeping ice cream from melting. Improving its basic safety, every Outlander Sport comes with forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning. Available on select trims is blind spot warning with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
Whichever trim a consumer chooses, all Mitsubishi Motors vehicles come with a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, and a 7-years/100,000-mile anti-corrosion protection plan. Roadside assistance coverage for 5 years with unlimited miles is also included. Keeping the Outlander Sport in tip-top shape is easy. Find the new Mitsubishi Outlander Sport at Miami Lakes Automall.
