There are plenty of reasons to love the new large SUV from Kia Motors. We’ve already shown you why the 2020 Kia Telluride is better than the 2020 Hyundai Palisade (currently only sold overseas) and how easily the Kia Telluride beats the Ford Explorer – spoilers, the Telluride mops the floor with the Explorer. However, sometimes it’s easier to just spell it out, and we’d be happy to. It all comes down to luxury, power, and amenities. Check out all the 2020 Kia Telluride has to offer.

A Life of Luxury

The high-end style of the Kia Telluride can be seen inside and out. While the starting price of the 2020 Kia Telluride is $31,690 (plus destination fee) for a bare bones LX trim, the range doesn’t go much further than $40k until the high-end SX trim and all the extra bells and whistles that come with it. The Telluride has that large, aggressive look SUVs are known for and is ready to tackle some off-road terrain but its sharp lines and smooth design give it a sense of class.

Inside is just a lovely with enough room to seat eight passengers comfortably and has ease of access to the third-row with the push of a button. Soft-touch materials can be found throughout the cabin and if consumers high-end trim, the SX, rich Nappa leather upholstery further enhances the feeling of a luxury SUV without the luxury price tag. There are also many clever storage solutions in the Telluride to help keep valuables safe.

Power

A 3.8-liter V6 able to generate 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque may not sound like much but a fuel economy of 20/26/23 mpg city/highway/combined for an SUV this large is a bit of a big deal. Plus, the 2020 Kia Telluride comes with various drive modes for drivers to choose from: “Eco” and “Smart” modes send all the torque to the front wheels; “Comfort” and “Snow” settings delivers 80-percent to the front wheels and 20-percent to the rear; in “Sport” mode, the power is split between the front and rear 65/35-percent; and in “Lock”, all four wheels are treated the same and the torque is split up evenly. You won’t find that kind of fun in other SUVs.

Technology and Safety

Although huge, the 2020 Kia Telluride is also as fun as it is safe. Found standard on the Telluride is an 8-inch touchscreen with the latest UVO infotainment system, capable of operating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Kia also offers an UVO app that allows consumers to connect to their car via their mobile phone. If going up a trim level or two, the EX and SX trims come with a 10.24-inch touchscreen, and 10-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound is an available option on both trims.

In terms of safety, the 2020 Kia Telluride has already earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). We think it’s because of all the standard safety features. Here’s a list: blind-spot collision avoidance, driver attention warning, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, parking distance (rear), rear-cross traffic collision avoidance, safe exist assist, and smart cruise control with stop and go. Super safety number one!

It doesn’t seem like anyone can stop talking about the 2020 Kia Telluride and neither can we. Come see what all the talk is about when you come to Miami Lakes Kia for a test drive of the Kia Telluride SUV .
