Kia Releases K4 Pricing
The Kia Corp has been pretty busy with new concepts rolling out. If it isn’t a new battery-electric vehicle (BEV) like the Kia EV3, then it’s a reconfiguring of an old model for something a little more sporty. We heard about the Kia K4 back in March 2024, but they were just rumors at the time. It didn’t take long for those rumors to lead to facts when the new 2025 Kia K4 sport sedan was introduced later that month. As we head in to the 2025 model year, Kia dropped a little PR recently about the all-new 2025 K4, Kia’s fourth-generation compact sedan, and the pricing for the lineup.
Made up of five trims, we have the K4 LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo. What originally started with the Kia Stinger, now discontinued with the Kia Stinger Tribute Edition, Kia slowly started adding GT models to every new model lineup that was released. With the purpose of creating more sports cars that drive as good as they look, the Stinger set the bar high, and so far, Kia has been knocking it out of the park with their recent sports car models. The Kia K5 was released to replace the Optima, and the K4 is replacing another favorite, the Kia Forte. Kia America didn’t release any new specs about the K4, but we still have a lot to go on from its initial introduction.
The standard powertrain is a 2.0-liter engine, able to generate 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Now that we’re aware of the two GT trims, it’s clear that the 1.6-liter, turbocharged engine is confirmed, able to generate 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a standard multi-link rear suspension, the GT-Line offers more response and better control. 190 horsepower isn’t muscle car territory, but it’s good enough for a sports car that needs to look good on the street versus the track.
Popping up on many new models is a very distinct pattern for the appearance, including vertical headlamps and the new Tiger Face front fascia. Distinguishing itself from the rest of the lineup, the GT-Line features a unique front and rear fascia with gloss black accents, and a satin chrome beltline. Inside, the K4 took notes of the spacious cabin of the Stinger and features a class-leading legroom of 38 inches and class-leading head room at 37.3 inches. The K4 is also continuing the pattern of 24-inches of digital space with a 12-inch instrument cluster and 12-inch touchscreen in the cockpit.
Kia Connected services are also popping up and making a lot of noise, especially with the Kia Connect Store. Just check out some of the apps we recently covered on the Kia Connect Apps in the EV9. The “Hello Kia” virtual assistant also returns for the K4 to offer consumers voice-control access to in-car functions and convenient features, such as heated and ventilated front seats, a wide sunroof, and controlling the Harman Kardon premium audio system. Continuing to increase safety, the K4 delivers Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with a handful of advanced safety features standard, including Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC w/ S&G), Forward Collision Avoidance 1.5 (FCA-1.5), Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
