Kia EV9 Wins “Best Large Car” During 2024 Autocar Awards

Summer is in full swing, and we all know what that means for the auto industry. Automotive journalists and other publications will be wrapping up competitions before 2025 models start entering the market. Some automakers release a new car every year, whereas some just release an update or new features, but when an automaker has a winner in the lineup, it can outshine some of the newer models. For instance, the Kia Corp recently revealed the new Kia EV3 and Kia EV4 models for global release, but every other week or so, the Kia EV9 returns with another award to add to the trophy case and outshines the other battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) in the lineup. The most recent is from the 2024 Autocar Awards.

Winning the title of “Best Large Car’ at the 2024 Autocar Awards is a nice feather in the cap for the Kia EV9. The Autocar Awards are known as one of the most renowned competitions in the automotive industry, trusted by many automakers as a credible and unbiased source of information on the best cars available today. Every year, the Autocar Awards shine the spotlight on the best new cars and most influential brands in the market. Even so, the Kia EV9 has been winning awards since its release, quickly outshining the BEV that started it all, the EV6. Known as the new flagship of the brand, the EV9 is an all-electric SUV that looks a lot like the award-winning Kia Telluride, the largest SUV in the lineup. This year, the EV9 wowed and impressed the panel of expert judges at Autocar when it came to leaving a positive impression and earning their votes for winning one of the award categories.

Kia is no stranger to Autocar, either. When the Kia EV6 was first released, many consumers were quick to learn about its origin. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the EV6 is the first all-electric car by Kia that had no gasoline predecessor. One-of-a-kind, the EV6 went on to win the “Best Electric Car” award during the Autocar Awards in 2022. In 2023, the automaker was named “Best Manufacturer” for its speedy growth, building its lineup with new vehicles like the Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid, Kia Niro hybrid crossover, and the Kia Carnival entered into the luxury car segment as the Kia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
