Kia EV6 Wins Two Awards During Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024

We sometimes wonder if consumers are already forgetting the Kia EV6, the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) that started the all-electric lineup for the Kia Corp. The first all-electric model with no gasoline predecessor, the EV6 was quickly replaced as the new flagship vehicle by the Kia EV9 electric SUV. Winning awards left and right, the EV9 was definitely a hot item, and the Kia EV3 and Kia EV4 are hot on its tail. For the 2025 model year, the EV6 is getting some upgrades, and just in time to shine once again. During the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024, the EV6 took home two awards this year.

A double-win like that is great for new families and consumers entering the auto market. Whether starting a new family or adding to a growing family, the EV6 has it covered. For 2024, the EV6 took home the title of “Best Car for Families” during the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024. And just in case some consumers aren’t trying for children or adoption, but have a furry critter in the family, the EV6 also took home the title of “Best Car for Dog Owners”. When it comes to the Auto Trader New Car Awards, this is one of those competitions that doesn’t just rely on a panel of judges to evaluate cars and pick the winners. The Auto Trader New Car Awards listens to the people, because when it comes right down to it, the opinions that matter most will always be those of car owners. Like many organizations, Auto Trader hosted a survey online, and over 200,000 UK car owners answered the call and filled out the survey. Designed to capture what a car owner thinks of their car, with thoughts and opinions obtained from real-world experience, 23 award categories were put together for 20 winners.

The EV6 started it all, and will continue to shine under the umbrella of Kia BEVs. Made up of five trims in the lineup, consumers have choices when it comes to power and all-electric range (AER). Looking for performance? The EV6 GT can generate a total of 576 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque, and offers an AER of 218 miles. Looking for more miles? The EV6 Light Long Range, provides an AER of 310 miles if equipped with rear-wheel drive (RWD). Regardless, each trim is powered by a Permanent Magnet AC Synchronous, but the drive battery is tweaked and engineered for a variety of power options.
