The 2020 Gladiator is Already Racking up Awards
The Jeep Gladiator has been slowly making its way towards dealer lots as the official release is scheduled for Summer 2019, but the industry accolades are already starting to pile up. Just this past week, the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator – whose tagline is “The most capable midsize truck ever” – ruled the 25th annual “Mudfest” competition hosted by the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA). Turns out Jeep was the big winner in three of the six vehicle categories thanks to the all-new 2020 Gladiator taking home top honors as it was voted “Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year” by NWAPA journalist members as well.
NWAPA President John Vincent also of _ U.S. News & World Report _ had the following to say “The 2019 NWAPA Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year competition featured the most diverse group of vehicles we’ve seen in its 25-year history. The all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator earned its title of Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year with an exceptionally functional blend of SUV and pickup attributes that northwest consumers crave.”
Not only did the all-new 2020 Gladiator take top honors, but the latest addition to the Jeep lineup also earned a win in the Truck and Extreme Capability categories. This marks the first time in the event’s 25-year history that a single vehicle captures the Overall, Truck and Extreme Capability categories all at once. These top accolades are a testament to the Jeep brand’s devotion to making functional, efficient, and outstanding vehicles.
More than 25 NWAPA automotive journalists were part of the testing panel over the course of two days. Journalists had two days to test 22 different competing vehicles on paved and off-road routes at The Ridge Motorsports Park located in Shelton, Washington. There are a total of six different categories – Subcompact Utility, Compact Utility, Mid-Size Utility, Family Utility, Premium Utility and Trucks and Extreme Capability – for vehicles to compete in. The 2020 Gladiator was selected as the 2019 Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year thanks in large part to the fact that it was the overall winner in the aforementioned six categories.
Touted by Jeep as the most off-road capable midsize truck ever, the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator offers an unprecedented rugged utility in a truck coupled with Jeep design and functionality. Offering up to three powertrain combinations, an efficient cargo box, and a design that’s unmistakably Jeep, the Gladiator is a pickup able to take its passengers and cargo anywhere. All Gladiator models regardless of the trim are Trail Rated by the brand with a customary badge that indicates this pickup is capable of venturing off the beaten path without a problem.
