As part of Channel 955’s “Mojo in the Morning” talk show, the host held a “Rear on the Wrangler” contest. Edward Pevos of MLive.com writes that the rules were quite simple. Contestants had to sit on a Wrangler for as long as possible, with the last standing individual taking home the 2015 Wrangler. A piece of paper was placed between the contestant’s…ahem… rear end and the Wrangler, and they’d be eliminated if the paper fell to the ground. The contest’s slogan echoed that sentiment: “Don’t fall asleep on the Jeep.”
20 people showed up on a cold Monday morning in November for the contest, which started at 8:30 am. At 1:35 pm that Thursday, the winner was finally crowned. Robin Hart of Sterling Heights ended up taking home the grand prize after spending more than three days on the SUV.
This specific Wrangler comes equipped with brand new rims and tires, and it also includes a lift kit (via American Expedition Vehicles). There’s also customized sound, light and tint functions that accompany the Jeep.
Of course, the Wrangler also contains all of its standard features and capabilities. The Wrangler is still one of the best off-roading vehicles on the market, and there’s no doubt that Hart can appreciate all the vehicle has to offer in the backwoods of Michigan. As always, the vehicle is stylish and eye-catching, and it’s also quite enjoyable to ride. It’s no surprise that the Wrangler is one of the brand’s most popular models.
The best part? It’s absolutely free. Hart gets to keep the vehicle, and a local accountant took care of the necessary taxes. This is quite a savings, as the Wrangler’s MSRP comes in at $22,995. Even a standard used 2015 model isn’t going to cost much less than $20,000.
While Hart should eventually expect to run into some mechanical issues with her new Wrangler, she can be assured that those repairs wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. The extensive selection of both factory and aftermarket parts means you’ll never be paying top dollar to get a part replaced, and you’ll consistently receive reasonable deals when you take your Jeep to a mechanic.
Sure, you won’t have the opportunity to win a free Wrangler. However, if you budget your money correctly, you could be driving behind the wheel of a Jeep in no time!
