Dodge Charger Hellcat: Leading the Modern Day Muscle Car

October 21st, 2015 by

When Dodge recently released the newly updated 2015 Charger, they did it knowing they’d be leading the pack in power. Your Dodge dealer finds this impressive. We agree.

What Dodge should’ve known is that the 707 horses they put under the hood would make them the leaders of the Modern Day Muscle Car.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

When you add “Hellcat” to the name of a car, well anything really, you can assume it’s going to have quite a reputation attached to it.

Harnessing 707 horsepower from its 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 Hellcat engine, it is the most powerful factory-built 4-door passenger car on the planet.

It’s 18.5 gallon fuel tank can be emptied at full throttle in 13 minutes. Even more impressive, eh?

However, fuel economy is nothing is scoff at and the Charger does get decent mileage. Efficient highway mileage is achieved at 22 mpg while city driving still gets 13 mpg.

Also costly, but owning a muscle car with this much power doesn’t mean you’re revving the engine just to get dinner. You save that for when you can really open it up without getting in trouble.

_ (Speaking of opening her up, the supercharged engine can deplete the air from an 11’x12’ room in just sixty seconds. It then needs another 80 horsepower just to fuel its intake.) _

With two keys to choose from, one delivers an appropriate amount of ‘oomph’ and one unleashes hell. The daily drive mode rides as smooth as a Caddy making you almost forget that you are riding in a devilishly fast muscle car that can take you to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds.

Dodge’s modern-day muscle cars aren’t just leading the pack in power, they are notably the most comfortable with the most amount of passenger room.

Offering bucket seats, there’s little sliding in the back seat when taking sharp corners, the Charger comes equipped with five seat belts; one for each passenger waiting to take the ride of their life. Driver and front passenger seats are also bucketed providing 8 power adjustments including 4 just for lumbar support.

Befitting of its name, the front end became more demonized with non-cross hair pattern that allows a larger amount of air intake to cool the engine. The fact that it also works to make it look intimidating is a bonus. It’s imposing, low stance is one that will always be definitive of its power and racing capabilities.

_ The 2015 Charger Hellcat is as hellish as you need it to be while driving like an angel in your everyday life. _
