The Chrysler 300C Over The Years
The Chrysler 300C has had a long legacy as a classic sedan with a whopping V8 engine. Having its start in the 1950s, the Chrysler 300C has grown quite a reputation given its luxury style and high performance. Unfortunately, the muscle sedan will say farewell as Chrysler discontinues the 300 model. As a part of its send-off, Chrysler will offer 2000 units of an updated 2023 Chrysler 300C complete with upgrades and a powerful 6.4L Hemi V8 engine. Those wanting one final memento of the luxury sedan will want this classic, but they’ll have to hurry before it’s gone. As far as the Chrysler 300C goes, we’ll start at the beginning and see how the luxury sedan has changed over the years.Â
The Chrysler 300C: From 1957 On
The Chrysler 300C got its start in the 1950s with the creation of Chrysler Letter Cars. Serving as performance luxury coupes, these Chryslers showed off with big V8 engines. Chrysler would create a lettered series of the coupe eventually leading to the Chrysler 300M. In 1957, the Chrysler 300C carried an aesthetic that we’d today classify as an old-school classic. Already, the luxury coupe featured an impressive 376 horsepower engine. The next time consumers would see the Chrysler 300 is in the early 2000s. Coming off discontinuation, the luxury sedan would see a revival in 2004 with a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine. Many would fawn over the high-performance luxury sedan and its classic style.
Bringing us further into the 21st century is the 2006 Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition. This version of the luxury sedan featured styling inspired by the 1957 Chrysler. Keeping true to the heritage theme, the sedan featured chrome trim with a replica badge. The Chrysler 300 itself also saw performance upgrades like an upgraded suspension, an upgraded transmission, and a performance exhaust. Later the 2011 Chrysler 300c would see a more modern aesthetic with a high-quality interior. Its 5.7L V8 engine would still be kicking this time with even greater horsepower.
Finally, we close with the latest 2023 Chrysler 300C. As part of an extravagant farewell, Chrysler offers one final updated version of the luxury sedan. With only 2000 units available, this sedan comes equipped with a 6.4L Hemi V8 engine capable of 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The 2023 Chrysler 300C also sees new styling with visual enhancements like red brake calipers, black chrome accents, and a large 300C badge on the front grille. This final version of the 2023 Chrysler 300C will be priced at an MSRP of $56,595 (plus destination fee). While it seems like the end for the luxury sedan, with Chrylser setting its focus on EVs, we could see the revival of the Chrysler 300 nameplate in the form of an EV. For now, we have to say goodbye to a classic.
