FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Automobile) brands seem to be jumping on the electric and hybrid car game recently! The reason for this is the consumer’s growing need for environmentally friendly vehicles. Diesels have always been the option many chose over gas as it is more fuel efficient than gas. However, this shift is changing now that the popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles has taken off.

Hybrid and electric vehicles are no doubt better for this environment than gas or diesel. With that being said, FCA is aiming to please! Their first go around with electric vehicles started with the Fiat 500e Electric Car. Then of course came recently the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.

The Pacifica was already the most talked about minivan, and with the hybrid drivetrain it is unbeatable. Infact, there is no other hybrid minivan on the market. This incredible hybrid comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine (same as the gas model), but is paired with dual electric motors and a 16 kWh 360 V lithium-ion battery. Together this combination allows for 84 MPGe, over 500 miles between gas fill ups, and 33 miles of pure electric range.

Who knows what FCA has up their sleeve next! There are rumors of a hybrid Jeep Wrangler, but those are still just rumors. What we do know is that FCA says they are dedicated to embracing electric and hybrid vehicles now and in the future. CEO of Chrysler says that by 2022 at least half of the vehicles being produced will be hybrid or electric.

Great news right? We are excited to see what FCA brings over the next few years!
