2022 Chrysler Pacifica and Its Updates

For the last few months, there have been some issues regarding the production of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, such as a full pause of its construction for almost the whole month of June. At the same time, there was a temporary shut down, in early September, due to the chip shortage, but demand for this vehicle remained strong. This time around, the Pacifica is back to take over 2022, and it’s bringing along some advancements as well as key additions to the North American lineup.

The Pacifica’s range-topping Limited and Pinnacle models will now be had with front-wheel-drive (FWD) as a standard, while the all-wheel-drive (AWD) will be an option. This change makes the most sense seeing that many customers living in warmer climates don’t need the extra grip of the minivan’s AWD. In turn, this signifies that the new FWD options will encompass more rich technologies or equipment on slightly cheaper models.

According to the car blog, MoparInsiders, the 2022 Pacifica Limited models will start at $48,320 (plus destination fee) for FWDs. Those who want the optional AWD system need to pay an extra $1,675, which would bring the price to $50,915 (plus destination fee). Then, the highest-ranking Pacifica Pinnacle trim will have a starting price of $52,775 (plus destination fee) for its FWD model, while its optional AWD version will cost $55,370 (plus destination fee).

At the same time, the base-level Touring trim will no longer have available AWD for the upcoming model year. It does not matter much because only 2 percent of the Pacifica’s customers opted for the Touring AWD the previous year, which led the carmaker to make the Touring lineup more straightforward for the 2022 model year. On the other hand, the Touring L will continue to serve options for FWD and AWD configurations.

Essentially, the Pacifica range as a whole will get some advancement for the 2022 model year, including the Cold Weather Group, which was previously optional for $495, but now serves as a standard. This implies that every new 2022 Pacifica model will be geared from the car plant with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Otherwise, the base Touring and Touring L trims will come with a rear-seat reminder system in the lineup. At the same time, the Limited model will obtain the previously optional Premium and Safety Sphere Group, which will be standard. The top-tier Pacifica Pinnacle will also have the additional benefit having of the Clean Air Filtration System, which is also standard.
