Chevy Silverado EV Offers One of The Fastest Charge Speeds

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is set to dominate the EV pickup truck segment. The all-electric Silverado EV boasts impressive capability and versatility. Chevrolet initially offered the Silverado EV in the RST First Edition which arrives with 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Thankfully Chevy is offering more economical trims like the 3WT which sees all the features of the RST aside from the superior performance. It starts at an MSRP of $74,900 (plus destination fee). The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV offers one of the fastest charging speeds. The all-electric pickup truck is currently offered with several different trims including a WT trim and a RST First Edition trim. The WT trim was initially designed for fleet and commercial customers but Chevy is now offering a 3WT trim for public consumers. The RST First Edition trim trumps the other trims with its unrivaled performance and capability, but each trim sees similar charging capabilities. Equipped with a 24-module battery pack, owners can expect to draw up to 350 kilowatts of power. The Silverado EV sees up to 450 miles of battery range so all in all, owners can expect to fully charge their electric truck from zero in just one hour and 15 minutes. With a DC fast charger, the electric truck can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The most impressive aspect of the Silverado’s charging capabilities is that it achieves a consistent charging speed. The all-electric truck features two 400-volt battery packs that work together normally but while charging, the Silverado EV hooks the packs up in series. This speeds up the charging time by doubling the voltage applied. The electric pickup truck sees a consistent charge of over 340 kilowatts that only decreases as the truck nears full charge. Despite the large size and equipment, the Silverado EV mitigates one of the biggest complaints about EVs. Whether it’s the RST First Edition or 3WT, the 2024 Chevy Silverado proves to be a highly capable electric truck with impressive charging capabilities.
