Unveiled: The 2021 Ram 1500 Offers More Tech
Ram recently unveiled its 2021 Ram 1500 model and the exterior of the pickup looks about the same as the 2020 model. The 2021 Ram 1500 sees significant upgrades in the technology department, thanks in large part to the all-new Ram 1500 TRX. Although the model was introduced to the world not too long ago, automotive experts expected for Ram to update its technology across the board to match its newest crown jewel.
Features such as a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror — initially introduced on the Ram ProMaster — “pages” on the infotainment system for various users and much more are all part of the 2021 Ram 1500 available features. Additionally, the head-up display is customizable and lets drivers have a clear view of navigation instructions, speed limit, adaptive cruise control settings and more. The rearview digital mirror measures a total of 9.2 inches and provides a real live view of what’s behind the pickup. Those who might be wary of a digital mirror have nothing to fear as the feature is easily disabled and a traditional mirror flips back to its reflective state with the touch of a button.
Ram also added their exclusive Trailer Reverse Steering Control feature to its available features list. Trailer Steering Control adds a dial that helps drivers control the pickup and trailer when reversing. The only input the system requires is for the driver to simply turn the dial left or right (on par with its guiding lines) and automatic steering inputs position the trailer accordingly. Ram also added the availability of power-folding trailer mirrors as a standalone option, Full-speed Collision Warning, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. The Full-Speed Collision Warning feature is now standard on all trims except the Tradesman and Bighorn trims.
Finally, those who live in colder climates will be able to enjoy plowing through feet of snow thanks to the Snow Plow Prep option. Akin to a package, the Snow Plow Prep option features a truck-side plow wiring harness, a 220-amp alternator, and a power-sliding window with a defroster feature as well. Prospective buyers who have been on the fence when it comes to the Ram 1500 because of tech features can rest assured that the 2021 model is what they’ve been searching for.
Thanks to the expansion of the model’s tech features, Ram easily has the best half-ton pickup money can buy once again.
