The Tungsten Trim Witnesses a Comeback with the Ram 1500 REV

The Limited Tungsten trim was once available for a single model year in 2018. It came with the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 as a special edition trim level replete with all the amenities a buyer could ask for, both inside and outside. Now, the trim has made an unexpected comeback as Ram unveiled its new Ram 1500 REV battery-electric vehicle (BEV) at the 2023 New York International Auto Show. Tungsten is more than simply a term related to Ram’s first electric pickup truck. In its basic form, the material has a reputation for being versatile and strong, which are presumably the qualities Stellantis want consumers to associate with the pickup – toughness – in its all-new trim level that will officially launch on the 2025 Ram 1500 REV.
The Inside Look from Mopar Insiders
Mopar Insiders thoroughly inspected an early build version of the REV and displayed its design with an exclusive peek inside to view how the Tungsten trim will appear stylistically, a new luxury trim at the top of the heap above the current Limited variant. The Ram battery-electric vehicle gleams both physically and metaphorically, offering a very similar resemblance to the current Ram with some evident modifications, including the front fascia and the wheels. The wheels feature an aerodynamic design, while the LED lights and LED grille up front are giveaways to the vehicle’s powertrain. As a matter of fact, the RAM emblem even glows under charging.
This pickup truck accounts for the high-end, sophisticated iteration and comes equipped with a 229-kWh battery capable of 500 miles of range, 654 horsepower acceleration while producing 620 pound-feet of torque, and the ability to tow 14,000 pounds. When the automobile is not occupied with towing at the top of its class, it can fire up from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. As impressive as those figures may be, they are not, however, the focus of the REV Tungsten.
The Luxurious High-Tier Trim
As soon as the door is opened, a lavish cabin comes into view. Lush materials and trim are the focal points of the Tungsten. It is meant to be a premium trim with features like a power tailgate. Moreover, according to Mopar Insiders, the Tungsten’s Indigo/Sea Salt interior includes “new platinum patina/semi-bright dual-textured metal accents featuring diamond knurling and a suede-wrapped headliner.” The gold stitching contrasts nicely with white leather, and the metal accents appear innovative and fresh against the refined, quilted styling of the seats.
The Technological Perks
For a pickup truck such as the Ram 1500 REV, it is refreshing to see the designers emphasizing an authentic interior design ethos that conveys both splendor and ruggedness. Inside the REV, there is a vast array of luminous screens: a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment unit, and to top it all off, a 10.25-inch passenger screen for controlling functions and viewing of videos. In the back portion of the truck, there is a 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere sound system. Not to mention, the speakers in the seat backs are lined in an attractive metal. The rear seats are reclinable, and the front seats are, of course, heated, massaging, and indulgently comfortable.
Ram is not shying away from the competition. On the contrary, it is specifically accentuating its headline performance and finesse for all to see in the form of the Ram 1500 REV’s Tungsten trim.
