Car and Driver unveiled its annual 10Best lists for cars, SUVs, and trucks for the 2024 model year. To clarify, the 10Best boils down the entire vehicle to a number between one and 100 instead of scoring several categories. Before judging the vehicle on how well it drives, as well as other features, to be eligible for the list the automobile must be on the market in January 2024 for under $110,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee), a price point that is adjusted every year.
The vehicles must either be new or significantly updated. Car and Driver also brings back the reigning winners to compete against the new challengers every year, allowing the former to defend their spots on the list. The magazine boasts that blending last year’s best with everything new means the 10Best list represents the best vehicles for sale and not just the best of what is new.
2024 Ram 1500
It is worth noting that this generation of the Ram 1500–introduced in 2019–has taken home a 10Best trophy every year since its debut. The 1500 is Ram’s most affordable and popular pickup truck. The current generation is also the brand’s most celebrated. The Ram 1500 has been one of the trucks battling for the top of the full-size pickup heap for the last half decade and continues to be a highly recommendable vehicle.
Indeed, as one-third of the Big Three American trucks, the Ram 1500 pickup has its own skill set that could sway customers away from General Motors or Ford. After all, the 2024 Ram 1500 full-size truck can be satisfyingly powerful, eminently capable, and exceptionally comfortable. In other words, Ram 1500 pickups obliterate the myth that trucks need only be practical. Feature content can be generous, and at the highest levels of the lineup, the pickups are genuinely premium.
For example, its largest available touchscreen display unit is a proper 21st century control center, and there are ingenious storage and charging solutions throughout the 1500. It is no less a workhorse, too, available with air suspension, a trio of capable powertrains, and bed storage. Not only that, the full-size pickup can tow over 12,000 pounds when properly equipped, and its 5.7-liter V-8 engine accelerates up to 395 horsepower with a sonorous rumble to accompany it.
The Perks of a Ram 1500
The standard coil spring rear suspension is a standout feature of the Ram 1500, as it is so much more refined than the leaf springs found in other trucks. The Ram 1500 even has an adaptive air suspension on the options lists of the Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited trims. Additionally, the experts at Car and Driver praise the truck’s available luxury, wide-ranging lineup, and intrinsic value. The brand confirmed that the 1500 will experience a refresh for the 2025 model year. Even though Ram is phasing out its popular Hemi engines, the publication credits the company for keeping a versatile lineup. After all, next year (2024) will incorporate an electric variant, turbocharged inline-sixes, a plug-in hybrid, and hands-free driving assist.
Car and Driver even presents a fascinating theory for the current-generation Ram, dubbing it the “Ram 1500 Classic” due to its prestige. If that is the case, two Ram pickups could make the 10Best list next time. In short, the Ram 1500 is superb all-around, so please come visit Miami Lakes Automall.
