Goodbye TRX, Hello RHO: Strengthening the 2025 Ram 1500 Lineup

Even though the Hemi V-8 engine might be absent from the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, there is ample elation surrounding the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. To that end, sources indicate that one of these new RHO models was recently identified driving down the street. The RHO is prepared to set a new standard in the light-duty off-road pickup truck segment, providing outstanding value and performance.

Beneath the Hood

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is outfitted with the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six high-output engine. This high-output power plant accelerates up to 540 horsepower and generates 521 pound-feet of torque. Its performance is accompanied by reduced emissions and enhanced fuel economy compared to other engines in its class. This efficient combination guarantees the RHO surpasses several boosted six-cylinder and naturally aspirated V-8 engines housed in other light-duty pickups. 

The RHO also features Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shock absorbers designed to balance on-road handling and off-road capability. The new shock tuning, combined with Ram’s Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management system, significantly improves body roll control, ride comfort, and overall handling.

Overall Capacity and Off-Road Capabilities

An exceptional characteristic of the RHO is its stupendous wheel travel. Indeed, the vehicle’s one-of-a-kind frame structure allows for rear axle travel of up to 14 inches, offering over 40 percent additional rear wheel travel compared to other Ram 1500 trims. Of note, this maximized wheel travel does not affect the cargo area, meaning the RHO is pragmatic and versatile.

Moreover, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is designed to manage challenging terrain with minimal effort. For example, it boasts a ground clearance of 11.8 inches, courtesy of massive 35-inch tires and a two-inch ride height increase. This layout enables the RHO to navigate over obstacles easily, even at high speeds.

The Interior

Inside, the RHO seamlessly blends state-of-the-art technological amenities with sophistication. The interior highlights premium materials, such as available hand-wrapped leather instrument panels. Additionally, the automobile features over 50 inches of digital display touchscreens, offering an array of practical components. The focal point, however, is a reconfigurable 14.5-inch touchscreen unit with split-screen capability. 

There is also a segment-exclusive 10.25-inch front passenger screen that allows for entertainment preferences, navigation, and device management. That said, an optional full-color Head-Up Display (HUD) is available, offering a configurable display of up to 10 inches. This accouterment incorporates numerous content areas and a digital tachometer for heightened driving convenience.

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is available to order now, with a starting price tag of $69,995 MSRP (excluding a $1,995 destination fee). It is expected to arrive at dealerships in the third quarter of the 2024 model year.
