All That’s New on the 2020 Ram Trucks Lineup

September 11th, 2019 by

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recently unveiled all the changes coming to Ram Trucks’ 2020 lineup. A big running theme for all models? Night Editions that add blacked-out trims and wheels. There’s also a new Ram 1500 Rebel Black Edition, and buyers who need a little more power but don’t want to shy away from the menacing looks can also opt for the Ram 2500 Power Wagon as well. The menacing dark designs are popular over at Ram Trucks, but let’s see what else the automaker is offering in its 2020 lineup.

2020 Ram 1500

The biggest change in the 2020 Ram 1500 lineup comes in the form of a redesigned EcoDiesel V6 engine that’s available on all trims. Reintroduced for the 2020 models, the EcoDiesel engine is a considerable improvement over the last one that was wrapped up in emissions violations and couldn’t even be included in the 2019 lineup. Besides the additional engine option, the other changes on the 2020 Ram 1500 are mostly cosmetic. The above-mentioned Night Edition returns on the Big Horn and Laramie trims with its black grille and grille surround, badging, wheels, and exhaust tips. The taillights and headlights are also upgraded with darker bezels as opposed to the traditional chrome. Additionally, all 2020 Ram 1500 pickups that feature the eTorque system, even the ones powered by a HEMI V8, will feature a new eTorque badging. There will also be three new exterior paint colors to choose from: RV Match Walnut Brown, Hydro Blue, and Olive Green (late availability).

2020 Ram Rebel

The Rebel gets a completely murdered-out look thanks to the Ram Rebel Black Appearance Group. Unlike the previously mentioned Night Edition that can be had with a few different exterior colors, the Black Appearance Group only offers Diamond Black Crystal Pearlcoat paint for the exterior, along with black 18-inch wheels, a blacked-out front spoiler, skid plate, badging, tow hooks and exhaust. The LED headlights also get black bezels, while on the inside the Rebel interior matches the all-black exterior. Those who need a splash of color in their 2020 Rebel can opt for the Black and Ruby Red package. All 2020 Ram Rebel pickups feature a standard Comfort Package which includes a power tailgate release, wireless phone charging capability, rear heated seats, and a 12-way power driver’s seat with memory settings.

The heavy-duty Ram lineup was revamped back in January 2019, thus its changes for the 2020 model year are less extensive. Optional equipment and features were expanded across all heavy-duty trims, including Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Steering, and trailer tire pressure monitoring. Crew-cab heavy-duty pickups come standard with an 8-foot bed and a 50-gallon fuel tank. The 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon now offers optional Black wheels and two new exterior paint color options: Olive Green and Hydro Blue.
