2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Special Edition

Blacked-out trucks often look menacing and tend to come at a price, but Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recently introduced the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock as a no-compromise off-road desert racer that won’t break the bank. The special edition pickup taps into that nostalgia magic that seems to be going around – it’s built to attract the same kind of buyers that Chrysler initially wooed back in 1976 with the Dodge D10 Warlock. As with the past versions, the 2019 Warlock offers an intense appearance and a touch of additional off-road capabilities.

Head of Ram Brand, Reid Bigland, is proud of the Warlock Edition, saying “The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock is proof positive that value never goes out of style. With its sinister monochromatic exterior, award-winning interior and great price, this mean machine is certain to resonate positively with consumers.”

As mentioned above, the 2019 Warlock special edition is available only with the previous generation 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, not with the all-new 2019 Ram 1500. Since the demand for Ram pickups outpaced supply, Ram decided to continue selling the older version of the 1500 as well until all manufacturing facilities switch over to producing the redesigned truck only. Those looking to buy the Warlock Edition will have to stick with the last generation Ram 1500 pickup.

Details on the new Ram Warlock include powder-coated bumpers on the front and rear, Warlock decals, a 1-inch ride lift, and RAM badge lettering on the front grille. There’s also an optional Sport hood available as well. 20-inch semi-gloss black aluminum wheels, heavy-duty rear shocks, dark-bezeled projector headlamps, tow hooks, and LED rear tail lamps complete the Warlock’s sinister look. Those looking to drive off the beaten path will be happy with the shocks and extra inch of clearance, but they’ll also have plenty of FCA options to choose from if they’re looking for something a bit more potent.

Standard on the Warlock 1500 Classic is the brand’s Luxury Group Package which includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an overhead console, 7-inch cluster display, LED bed lighting, and foldaway power mirrors. Diesel Grey cloth upholstery and ParkSense rear park assist are also standard features. Powertrain choices vary from FCA’s classic 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that generates 360 horsepower, while a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 capable of generating 395 horsepower is an available upgrade. Buyers can choose between two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive with quad or crew cab four-door bodies.

Traditionally special edition vehicles are offered in very few coat colors, but FCA is offering a wide array that includes Blue Streak, Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Diamond Black, Delmonico Red, Flame Red, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel, Pearl White, and True Blue. Although some of the color choices don’t score very high on the “sinister Warlock” meter, the fact that this is a style edition makes up for that. According to FCA, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock will have a starting MSRP of $37,040 (plus destination fee) and will be available during the late first quarter.
