PARENTS Magazine Names 2024 Kia EV9 as Best Electric 3-row SUV
The Kia Corp is the automaker to watch over the next few years. Announcing plenty of plans for the rest of the decade, whether it’s all-electric models or hydrogen fuel cells, this automaker is on top of it. In 2022, Kia released the Kia EV6 followed by the Kia EV9 in 2023, and several other battery-electric vehicle (BEV) concepts have also been unveiled, including the Kia EV5, Kia EV4, and Kia EV3. Just last week, the potential revival of the Stinger sports car was announced as the Kia EV8. All this, and the automaker wins award-after-award. The most recent is the Kia EV9, recognized as the “Best Electric 3-row SUV” during the “Best Family Cars” awards for 2024 by PARENTS magazine.

When it comes to family-oriented cars, what better accolade could an automaker receive than being named by an automotive publication designed for the modern day parent? Not only that, but PARENTS really puts in the work to find the best family vehicles available on the market today. PARENTS review and test new model vehicles and award vehicles that display the best combination of safety and functionality for families. This year, there were 140 cars total competing for a “Best of” title, and Kia won out on top for the best electric 3-row SUV.
PARENTS experts has a panel of judges that evaluate each model on a 10 point scale in several areas. These include overall safety and driver assist and safety technology, child passenger car seats that are easy to install and have enough space to accommodate seats in second and third rows (plus third row access, power and technical specs of each model, the family friendliness of each model, the “wow” factors that will appeal to families, and of course the price for each model in its category. With a total of 22 categories listed for the “Best Family Cars” awards, just winning one is an honor.
The Kia EV9 has been winning awards since it was first released overseas, and definitely once it came to America. Earlier this month (February 2024), the EV9 won the SUV Category during the 2024 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards. Known as Kia’s first three-row battery-electric SUV, the EV9 is spacious, able to seat up to seven passengers, and is the first Kia model to be made from sustainable materials. The EV9 has even started a new trend, seeing as how the EV3 and EV4 concepts are also made from sustainable materials. Speaking of starting a new trend, the Kia EV9 is also among the first new models to make use of Kia Connect and over-the-air updates to offer consumers a world of personalization through the Kia Connect store and start its new line of software-defined vehicles.
