Kia Telluride and EV9 Continue to Rack Up the Awards
When the Kia Corp creates a winning car model, it stays a winner for years to come. From the very beginning, the Kia Telluride was heralded as the largest SUV in the lineup, and in the same year of its release, consumers could look anywhere and find the Telluride landed in another “Best of” list or won another award. Its success was so strong, that the SUV even spawned its own electric variant, even if the automaker doesn’t call it a Telluride EV, we all know the look of that boxy SUV when it comes to the EV9, also winning awards left and right. The latest comes from the U.S. News & World Report and Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY), respectively.
Kia Telluride
“There’s a reason the Kia Telluride keeps winning awards. It simply sets the benchmark for what a great three-row family SUV should be, with tech features every family member will enjoy and a fantastic warranty,” – John Vincent, the senior editor/vehicle testing at U.S. News & World Report
Vincent basically nailed it. The Kia Telluride spearheaded sales for Kia America when it was released in 2019. Five years ago, and still going strong?! That’s outrageous, especially for an SUV in a market saturated with SUVs and crossovers in every dealership lot. In 2024, the Telluride brings with it the Telluride X-Line and Telluride X-Pro models for rugged good looks and off-road performance.
The U.S. News & World Report named the Kia Telluride best 3-row midsize SUV in its “Best Cars for Families” award for the fifth consecutive year for a number of reasons. To make the list, U.S. News examines cars, SUVs, and minivans that boast safety, reliability, space, convenience, and connectivity. After combing through professional automotive reviews, only vehicles with the best safety and reliability ratings, seating and cargo volume, and availability of family-friendly features make the cut, and that’s why the Kia Telluride won out amongst the competition.
Kia EV9
The Kia EV9 came to America in 2023, put on display with the EV6 during Monterey Car Week. Even though the Kia EV6 was the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) with no gasoline predecessor by the Kia Corp, the EV9 quickly took over the spotlight. Running on the same Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), a dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform designed by the Hyundai Motor Group (umbrella group of Kia), the EV9 has a strong body and smooth ride going for it.
Becoming a finalist in the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) awards, the electric three-row SUV quickly outshined the rest and took home the name as the World’s Best Car for 2024. During the competition, there were a total of 63 contenders fighting for the top. The jury, made up of 75 women motoring journalists from 52 countries across five continents, there is no doubt that the EV9 can boast the one electric SUV with the best safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving, benefits, and environmental footprint. As an additional plus, the group also commented on the EV9’s user-friendliness, innovative design, family-friendly interior, comfortability, and spaciousness to highlight more reasons why it’s the Best Car for 2024!
