Kia Debuts New 2020 Kia Cadenza at Chicago Auto Show
Every year, the Chicago Auto Show takes place in February, and sadly for only a short time – a single weekend. It’s not a lot of time for automakers to shine, but that doesn’t stop them from showing up anyway. Especially when a new concept or feature is introduced, the best way to debut it is at an auto show. Speaking of which, Kia Motors used the 2020 Chicago Auto Show to launch its refreshed 2020 Kia Cadenza premium sedan. With new standard features and enhanced exterior with new styling, the Cadenza is looking better than ever.
Offering a luxurious interior cabin combined with a quiet and composed ride, there have been some significant interior enhancements for 2020, but the improved ergonomics design and addition of standard Kia Drive Wise driver-assist technologies sure make it a pleasant ride. The 2020 Kia Cadenza comes with a new style, starting with a redesigned hood and grille with a deeper vertical waterfall fascia – perhaps Kia Motors isn’t using the new “tiger face” on all of its vehicles. Multi-lens LED headlights with redesigned LED DRL lamps comes standard, along with new LED combination rear taillights, a redesigned lower front fascia with integrated turn signals, and new 18-inch (standard) and 19-inch wheels (available).
“The Cadenza continues to introduce new and luxury-minded customers to the Kia brand…We recognize there are many customers who don’t want or need an SUV, but still desire a vehicle with plentiful interior room and a large trunk. The Cadenza is the perfect choice for these people and the refreshed 2020 model is well-suited to their needs.” – Michael Cole, president, Kia Motors America (KMA)
A new standard Smart Key with remote engine start opens up a new world. All throughout the cabin, there have been upgrades. Once in the driver’s seat, consumers are greeted by a dash and instrument cluster, plus a new 4.2-inch TFT color screen in the instrument panel, and even better, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with multi-device Bluetooth®2 connectivity as the *_standard_ * ! Yes, Kia Motors, that’s what we’re talking about. Three additional USB charging ports have been added one in the front passenger area, two in the rear seat), and an enhanced 10-watt wireless fast-charging phone charger is available. For seating comforts, depending on the trim, consumers will find cloth or leather, with two new Nappa leather-trimmed seating colors – Saddle Brown and Gray – on the Limited trim, and offers quilted seat bolsters. Also, only available in the Limited trim is multi-color ambient LED mood lighting for changing the mood with a switch.
The same, yet powerful, 3.3-liter V6 is the only powertrain option. All-aluminum, able to deliver 290 horsepower that is transmitted through an 8-speed electronically controlled Sportmatic transmission onto a front-wheel drivetrain, the 2020 Kia Cadenza is a smooth ride. It gets even smoother with improved Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) technology that help to reduce road noise entering the cabin. Redesigned shock valves, larger rear dampers, and a reinforced rear sub-frame make the ride even nicer.
