Highlights for the 2025 Kia Soul and New Appearance Package
We’re halfway through the year, and that means automakers are going to start releasing new vehicles for the 2025 model year. Sometimes, it’s nothing new, just an updated or refreshed model. New model years can also come with special editions or new packages to increase the popularity of an older model. Take the 2025 Kia Soul for instance, introducing the new SoulmateTM Special Edition package.
SoulmateTM Special Edition Package
New for the 2025 model year, the Kia Soul SoulmateTM Special Edition Package is your typical appearance package to give a new look to the funky hatchback. New additions include exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, a two-tone roof, and lower body cladding for the exterior. Inside, the Kia Soul gets a new umber interior color, SynTex and Cloth upholstery for the seats, and adds a Harman Kardon4 premium audio system. Pretty fancy.
Power
We don’t expect a powertrain change this late in the game. Expect all four trims to be powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, able to generate 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Also unchanged, the engine is paired with an intelligent variable transmission (IVT). This means the fuel economy will also stay the same, 28 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. There is a slight variation with the high-tier EX trim, offering a fuel economy of 29/35 mpg city/highway.
Style
Aside from the new appearance package, most standard features stay the same, including automatic headlamps and multi-reflector headlights, rear privacy glass, solar control glass, and heated rear glass. Going up the tier in the lineup offers LED headlights and tail lights, plus fog lights and LED turn signal indicators on the side mirrors on the GT-Line trim. Inside, a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat with woven cloth upholstery, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats are the standard. This quickly changes to an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support past the base with SynTex/cloth combination for the GT-Line – Tricot seat trim for the EX trim – plus dual-zone auto climate control, heated front seats and LED interior lighting.
Tech
The Kia Corp has been adding all sorts of new goodies to its newest models, and the Kia Soul comes with an 8-inch touchscreen as the standard display, followed by a 10.25-inch touchscreen display in the rest of the lineup. Regardless, all trims come with Kia Connect and navigation, all trims come with Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, Bluetooth wireless technology, steering wheel-mounted audio with phone and cruise control buttons, HD Radio, a six-speaker sound system, and a rear-view monitor. If not going for the new SoulmateTM Special Edition Package but want a better sound system, only the GT-Line can upgrade to a Harman Kardon premium 10-speaker sound system. When it comes to safety, all trims come with forward collision-avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection (plus a junction turning option for the GT), lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change assist, intelligent speed limit assist, and a driver attention warning system blind-spot collision avoidance and rear cross-traffic-avoidance assist. Past the base, blind-spot collision avoidance and rear cross-traffic-avoidance are also included.
The starting MSRP for the 2025 Kia Soul is $20,290 (plus destination fee). Find your new Kia Soul at Miami Lakes Automall.
