The all-new Jeep Compass comes in four trim levels. The two trims on the higher end of the trim scale include the Compass Trailhawk and Limited and they are loaded with modern amenities but they have some major differences. Which of these 2018 Compass trims are for you?

When it comes down to it the best way to decide which of these trims is for you is to decide how you are going to use the vehicle. Are you looking for fun and adventure or do you want a luxurious yet affordable daily driver? If you are looking to tear that trails up, the Compass Trailhawk is for you (of course), but if you want a luxury style SUV, you will want to check out the Compass Limited.

These vehicles do have some similarities when it comes to technology, style, performance and more. However in each of these categories they both also have some major differences. Standard interior features like a 60/40 split folding seat, dual zone A/C control, a leather wrapped shift knob, and steering wheel mounted audio controls are all included with both models. A leather interior, heated seats, a power 8-way driver seat, and a heated steering wheel are standard with the Compass Limited. Standard interior features of the Compass Trailhawk include premium cloth and leather trimmed seats, all-weather floor mats, and red interior stitching.

These vehicles may have the same body-style, but they are quite different when it comes to exterior features. The Compass Trailhawk comes with 17-inch wheels, all-season on/off-road tires, tow hooks, trail rated badging, a skid plates, and a black hood decal. Features of the Limited include 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, BSW all season tires, a single exhausted with a dual bright tip, and a black grille with chrome rings. Although they are very different, they still share some common features like halogen daytime running automatic headlights, god lights, deep tint sunscreen glass, and lower bodyside cladding.

When it comes to safety technology both of these vehicles have the same features except one. The Trailhawk comes with hill descent control which is offered for the Limited. Safety features shared by both vehicles include a backup camera, hill start assist, rain brake support, a panic alarm and all speed traction control. Entertainment tech like a six-speaker audio system, one-year of SiriusXM radio, UConnect 8.4 with an 8.4-inch touchscreen Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and bluetooth streaming comes standard with both models.

Both trim levels come standard with the 2.4-liter I4 MultiAir engine with stop start technology. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and is able to produce up to 180 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque. The biggest difference between these vehicles mechanically is that the Compass Trailhawk comes with an off-road suspension. Both of these models come with the selec-terrain system which lets the driver choose between five different driving modes (auto, snow, sand, rock, and mud). Depending on the mode, the system adjusts the proper traction to each wheel to create the optimal off-roading experience.

The pricing between these vehicles aren’t too different! The Trailhawk starts at just $28,595 and the Limited at $28,995.
