Dodge has made a host of new moves to mic. Of this summer. Just last month, Tim Kuniskis, the former CEO of the brand and fellow Stellantis brand, Ram, retired. The newest CEO of Dodge previously served in Dodge sales and has a lengthy run with automotive sales experience. Stellantis picked Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell to replace him at Ram while staying on with her CEO leadership role at Chrysler. Matt McAlear will take over as the new boss of Dodge, gaining the nod up from his previous position as the lead for Dodge sales operations.

“I want to take the opportunity to warmly thank Tim for his passion, commitment, and contributions to Stellantis and in defining the vision of the future electrified Ram and Dodge brands. I wish him well in his retirement,” remarked Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares shortly after news came out.

What Else Has Dodge Done Lately?

A Dodge spokesperson revealed in an recent interview that there are “no future Challenger plans at this time.” While that may be a letdown for this writer and readers alike, we can take solace in the fact that the “Dodge Coupe” is still a thing. The muscle of the newest Charger Daytona EV will offer both as it take the spot of the outgoing muscle car. We don’t have to speculate about what Dodge will create any longer. Within either option Dodge is offering shoppers only two trims, the “Scat Pack” matched with a 670 horsepower powertrain rating that secures a wildly quick 3.3 second 0-60 mph mark. The R/T trim options brings 496 horsepower. Impressive is just the first word to come to mind.

What We Love About the 2025 Charger Daytona

The Charger will arrive in two- and four-door configurations with classic trim options like R/T and Scat Pack staying as choices. An optional Track Pack is available on the latter. There are also two engine choices for the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona. Owners will be happy to know the Charger Daytona coupe is bigger than the Challenger it replaces with a 121.0-inch wheelbase and a total length of 206.5 inches, larger than the most recent Challenger that has a 116.0-inch wheelbase and 197.9-inch total length. It’s also wider than the Challenger by 8.6 inches; 84.3 inches versus 75.7 inches. Expect a lot of fun driving this bigger muscle ride that can be had in its EV form or buyers can wait for a rollout of the gasoline version set to arrive sometime in 2025, well after the debut.
