6 Changes for the 2016 Silverado – Miami Lakes Automall Chevrolet

October 27th, 2015 by

The Chevy Silverado is one of the best selling pickups in America, and the popular bowtie truck recently got a makeover for its newest model year. For those * Chevy Silverado Miami * fans, you may already be aware that the pickup received a complete overhaul back in 2014. Chevy kicked off the Silverado’s fourth generation by redesigning the truck from top to bottom. With that redesign happening just two short years ago, what does the “all-new” 2016 Silverado exactly mean?

We were wondering the same thing when we first heard about the newest model year of the Silverado, and did some digging. What we found may help you better understand what to classify the 2016 Silverado as, and will also help shed light on the newest features of the popular truck.

Top Six Changes to the New Silverado

Complete overhaul, or minor face lift? The 2016 Chevy Silverado actually falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes. Check out the list of the top six changes that were made to the newest Chevy Silverado model, and what each one of them means for the consumer.

  1. New Transmission: All new for this model year, is the newly added eight speed automatic transmission, that comes standard on the Silverado’s mid-level offering. Paired with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, this Silverado model manages 355 horsepower, and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. With this new transmission, the Silverado is more powerful and more adept at towing and hauling heavy loads. Chevy Silverado Miami
  2. Charging Made Easy: Forget your phone cords at home. The 2016 Silverado doesn’t need long and annoying power cords to keep your devices juiced up. Chevy has incorporated its wireless phone charging station to the new Silverado, which is stationed on top of the truck’s center console. For busy drivers, this is a great feature to ensure connectivity at all times. Chevy Silverado Miami
  3. New Exterior Appearance: The most noticeable change to the 2016 Silverado is the redesigned front end. The grille is more angled, and the overall appearance of the pickup is muscular, without being overbearing. LED lights were also added to all trim levels of the Silverado, which adds both value and clarity for the driver. Chevy Silveardo Miami
  4. Ease of Access: Chevrolet added power folding steps to the exterior of the truck, that can be deployed with a simple touch of a button. This feature makes accessing the bed of the Silverado easy, and gives passengers a better ease of access when climbing into the cabin. Chevy Silveardo Miami
  5. Safety Changes: Safety is one of the most important factors when looking for a new car, and Chevrolet recognized that when designing the 2016 Silverado. Lane Keep Assist and Active High Beams were both added to the truck, making the Silverado safer, and more intuitive than ever before. Chevy Silveardo Miami
  6. More Connectivity: Chevy opted to add the Apple CarPlay system to its new Silverado pickup trucks, allowing iPhone owners complete connectivity while driving. The system displays the driver’s phone screen on the truck’s color touchscreen display, and allows users to safely use their phone features without picking up their phone. Android Auto is essentially the same system, for Android-operated smartphones, and is expected to be available in the 2016 Silverado by next year. Chevy Silveardo Miami

The 2016 Silverado may not be an entirely new, or completely redesigned version of Chevy’s popular pickup – but it has enough important additions to stand out from previous model years.
