2023 Ram 1500
The 2023 Ram 1500 provides uncannily smooth driving manners because of its distinct rear suspension design. Consumers also receive a unique, sophisticated interior that is highlighted by an optional 12.0-inch touchscreen unit. The V-6 and V-8 engines are both top-notch options for drivers, with more than enough power to offer a buyer.
5.7L HEMI V-8
Beneath the hood of the 2023 Ram 1500 is a V-6 or V-8 gasoline powertrain that is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system, although the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is also available without the electric support. For customers who prefer to drive off the beaten path, the adventurous Rebel trim offers a more rugged style and genuine off-road capability. In fact, every Ram 1500 has a remarkable ride courtesy of a rear suspension that relies on standard coil springs or optional air springs, unlike the traditional leaf-spring setup found on domestic rivals. Trims outfitted with air suspension even have an adjustable ride height, which helps off-road performance and fuel efficiency.
What’s new for 2023?
The biggest change to the 2023 Ram 1500 lineup is the discontinuation of the available diesel V-6. The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) limited-edition trim is new for 2023. As it forms part of Ram’s Built to Serve lineup, the purpose of the EMS edition is to pay tribute to first-responders with specific design cues and United States flag decals on the bedsides. The 1500 EMS is designed with a blacked-out front exterior and grille, black exhaust tips, and Technical Gray 20-inch aluminum wheels. It also comes available in Bright White or Hydro Blue paint. In addition, the Ram 1500 EMS comes standard with a 4×4 Off-Road Group equipment package, which incorporates a handful of underbody skid plates, tow hooks, and an electronic-locking rear differential.
The 2023 Ram 1500 is available with bold, glowing LED headlamps, fog lamps, and taillamps. It is accentuated by a sculpted hood and elaborate grille that allow these polished frontal lighting features to project a wide beam. Available power running boards, which automatically deploy when a door opens, make it possible to enter and exit the truck with ease. There is a multifunction tailgate that permits access to the truck bed in several ways. For example, the 60/40 split swing-away doors can swing open 88-degrees and the tailgate also opens down to a typical, flat 180-degrees. The truck’s wheel designs are available with 22-inch aluminum wheels. For 2023, there is even an available 22-inch all-terrain tire that provides the buyer added flexibility when selecting their wheels.
The interior of the 2023 Ram 1500 has massive passenger space and exceptionally functional cubby stowage. Most trims are available with refined features such as a panoramic sunroof and heated and ventilated seats, while the most luxurious variants have genuine wood accents that are accompanied by premium leather surfaces. The full-size pickup truck has supreme amounts of interior storage and a split-folding tailgate. Both the five-foot-seven-inch and six-foot-four-inch cargo beds are available, with the extended cab body style pairing exclusively with the latter.
Ram trucks have had one of the best infotainment systems and connectivity features in the segment for a while. That continues with the trucks from the 2023 model year, which have either a responsive 8.4-inch or an optional 12.0-inch touchscreen that is available on all but the introductory Ram trim. Moreover, both systems are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As a matter of fact, the larger touchscreen is set up with a handful of redundant buttons and knobs.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Ram 1500 has a suite of available driver-assistance technology. There is available adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring. Electronic Stability Control is also included, which has the ability to correct oversteering and understeering. Electronic Roll Mitigation, on the other hand, can help reduce wheel lift. The available 360-degree Surround View Camera allows the driver to be aware of what is around the vehicle, while the 360-degree Trailer Surround View Camera does the same when a trailer is present. Meanwhile, Ram’s limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles. The powertrain warranty for the truck covers five years or 50,000 miles.
