The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid comes with three trims – the LX, EX, and SX Prestige. All three are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine full parallel hybrid system. This system is able to generate 277 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Engineering
The entire lineup transmits power through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The LX trim comes with front-wheel drive (FWD), but can upgrade to active all-wheel drive (AWD) with center locking differential, standard on the EX and SX Prestige. If driving on FWD, the fuel economy of the 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid is 42 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway. Otherwise, the lineup has a fuel economy of 38/38/38 mpg city/highway/standard – lucky!

Exterior Features
Past the base LX trim, the 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid comes with heated exterior mirrors (available on LX) with LED turn signal indicators, and Smart Welcome. All trims come with sound-absorbing windshield glass, rear privacy glass, and heated rear glass. The SX Prestige comes with a panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, and a smart power tailgate, all also available on the EX with an upgrade; plus solar control glass and a heated windshield.
The LX and EX come with LED headlights, but the SX Prestige gets LED projector headlights and LED fog lights. All trims are equipped with automatic headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and high beam assist. The LX and EX come with LED tail lights, with rear-combination LED tail lights on the SX Prestige. The LX rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The EX and SX Prestige ride on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Features
For the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid, the LX comes with woven cloth upholstery, whereas the EX comes with SynTex seating trim, and the SX Prestige comes with premium SynTex seating trim. The LX is equipped with a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, and a 4-way manually adjustable front passenger’s seat can be found on the LX and EX trims. The EX and SX Prestige come with a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support, and the SX Prestige adds an 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat, plus driver’s seat memory.
The entire lineup comes with dual-zone automatic temperature control and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. The EX and SX Prestige comes with heated front seats (available on the LX), and the SX Prestige adds in ventilated front seats. The EX and SX Prestige add some more comfort with a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel.

On the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid, the LX trim is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen, whilst the rest of the lineup comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Kia Connect and navigation. All trims come with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth wireless technology, a rear-view monitor, and steering wheel-mounted controls. Past the base LX, consumers also get SiriusXM Satellite Radio and a wireless phone charger. The LX and EX are equipped with a six-speaker audio system, but the SX Prestige comes with a Harman Kardon premium surround sound system with 8 speakers and HALOsonic®.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid comes with many basic safety features, including dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock brake system, stability and traction control systems, a rear occupant alert system, rear-camera display, and LATCH child-seat ready anchors. Select advanced safety features can also be found, including forward collision-avoidance assist with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection (plus junction turning on the SX Prestige); lane following assist; lane keeping assist; lane departure warning; a driver attention warning system; and parking distance warning system for the rear. The SX Prestige trim adds navigation-based smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, a blind-spot view monitor, remote smart parking assist, park distance warning for the front, a parking collision-avoidance assist-reverse system, and a surround view monitor with 3D view. The EX and SX Prestige also add blind-spot collision-avoidance with assist-parallel exit, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and Safe Exit Warning.
