The 2023 Kia Soul lineup is made up of the LX, S, GT-Line, and EX trims. Under the hood of each trim is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, able to generate 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Power is transmitted through an intelligent variable transmission.
Driving and Handling
The intelligent variable transmission is standard on all trims. Oddly enough, the fuel economy slightly differs on the EX trim, although the powertrain is the same. The majority of the lineup has a fuel economy of 28 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, whereas the EX trim has a fuel economy of 29/35 mph city/highway.

Exterior Features
Heated exterior mirrors may only be found on the EX trim for the 2023 Kia Soul, but standard features include automatic headlamps and multi-reflector headlights (LED headlights, tail lights, and fog lights available on the GT-Line trim), rear privacy glass, solar control glass, and heated rear glass. 16-inch wheels are the standard on the LX and S trim. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard for the EX trim. The GT-Line rides on 18-inch sport alloy wheels.
Interior Features
The standard upholstery is woven cloth, replaced with premium tricot clot on the EX trim, and a Syntex and cloth combination for the GT-Line trim. The LX comes with a six-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, but the rest of the lineup comes with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support. All trims come with a 4-way manually-adjustable passenger seat and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The EX trim comes with heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control can be found on all trims past the base LX trim. The steering wheel and gearshift knob come leather-wrapped past the S trim.

An 8-inch touchscreen is the standard display for the LX trim, but the rest of the lineup comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with navigation and Kia Connect. This system also offers Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, Bluetooth wireless technology, steering wheel-mounted audio with phone and cruise control buttons, a six-speaker sound system, and a rear-view monitor. Past the LX trim, consumers can also enjoy SiriusXM Satellite Radio and a wireless phone charger. The GT-Line can upgrade to a Harman Kardon premium 10-speaker sound system with speaker lights and multiple ambience themes.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Kia Soul comes with many basic safety features, including dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock brake system, stability and traction control systems, a rear occupant alert system, rear-camera display, and LATCH child-seat ready anchors. Select advanced safety features can also be found, such as Forward-collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection (plus turning available on the GT-Line), a driver attention warning system, and lane keep assist on all trims. Many more can be found past the LX trim (available), including blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and lane change assist. The GT-Line comes with smart cruise control with stop and go plus navigation and curves.
