After going green with the Sorento HEV, Kia Corp went further and turned the Sorento into a plug-in electric hybrid vehicle (PHEV), or plug-in hybrid. For 2023, the automaker decided a single trim was all that was needed. The SX-P, or SX-Prestige, comes fully equipped with an upscale interior, technology, and plenty of standard features.

Able to generate 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, this PHEV has an all-electric range of 32 miles before the gasoline engine takes over. When utilizing a Level-2 charger, the Sorento PHEV can fully charge its battery in 3.5 hours.

A Bose premium audio system with 12-speakers is also included. For 2023, a 115-volt inverter that can charge household items, such as a laptop, was added to the 2023 Kia Sorento PHEV.
