Battery and Charging

With only two trims, the EX and EX Premium, changes between the two are thin. Starting with the powertrain, both trims are powered by a 64.8 kWh battery that runs a 150kW (201 horsepower) motor. DC fast-charging capability comes standard, able to be plugged into a Level 3 fast charger and replenish 10-80 percent in less than 45 minutes. For overnight charging, the 11kW onboard charger allows for Level 2 charging capability.

Travel

Upgraded from last model year, the 2023 Kia Niro EV has a total all-electric range of 253 miles. This will most likely affect the EPA MPGE of 123 in the city and 102 on the highway.
