Performance
Engine Type The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has six trims that make up the lineup – ES, LE, SE, SE Special Edition, SEL, and SEL Special Edition. Consumers can get each vehicle with the standard two-wheel drive (2WD) or Mitsubishi Motors’ own special all-wheel drive system, Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC). Under the hood of each vehicle is a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine able to generate 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
Driving and Handling Transferring the power to the wheels is an 8-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT). With each vehicle having the same powertrain setup, the fuel economy is also the same across the lineup. The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has a fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
Style
Exterior Features Across the lineup, the standard features on each vehicle are fog lights, daytime running LED lights, color- LED rear taillights, an LED high mount stop light, rear privacy glass, and roof rails. The standard headlights found on the ES and LE are equipped with halogen headlights, but the SE and SEL trims come with automatic headlights instead. Except for the base trim (ES, and with 2WD only), every trim is equipped with heated side mirrors. The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ES trim rides on 16-inch wheels, and the rest of the lineup comes equipped with 18-inch wheels.
Interior Features A standard feature across the lineup is a 60/40 split-rear bench, and every trim past the ES base trim comes equipped with heated front seats. The SE and SEL trims come with heated rear seats. In the cabin, the ES and LE have seats trimmed with cloth, but consumers will find synthetic leather in the SE trims and real leather in the SEL trims. The ES and LE trims come with a 6-way adjustable driver seat, and the ES, LE, and SE trims come with a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. The rest of the lineup comes with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.
Technology
Entertainment The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ES comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and a smartphone-link system on an 8-inch display will appear on the rest of the lineup. Standard across the lineup are Digital HD radio, steering wheel voice controls, automatic a/c, and rear heater ducts. Past the base trim, models also come with Sirius XM 3-month trial, a six-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, and dual USB ports. The SE and SEL trims can upgrade for a power panoramic sunroof.
Safety Features and Warranty The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comes with many standard safety features, including side curtain airbags, front-seat-mounted airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, advanced dual-stage front airbags, three-point seatbelts complete with head restraints, traction control, active stability control, and hill start assist. Across the lineup, a forward collision mitigation system and lane departure warning system with pedestrian detection are standard advanced safety features included. The SE and SEL trims come with blind-spot warning system, lane change assist, and a rear cross-traffic alert system. Available for the SEL trims is an upgrade package that adds a lane departure warning system with pedestrian detection at high speed as well as adaptive cruise control. All 2022 Mitsubishi models come with a basic 5-year/60,000-mile warranty. It also has a limited powertrain warranty for 10-years/100,000 miles and an anti-corrosion warranty for 7-years/100,000 miles. Finally, roadside assistance comes with a 5-year warranty.
