2021 Mitsubishi Mirage G4
SUVs and crossovers may be dominating the auto industry at the moment, but some automakers are starting to turn the tables and produce more small and passenger cars, especially after the pandemic. However, Mitsubishi Motors has always had a couple of small vehicles in its lineup for consumers who prefer them. One of which is the Mirage G4. It may not be a powerful muscle car, but the technology it offers consumers is as modern as it gets. See what the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 brings to 2021.

Engine Type
With the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 coming with only four trims (ES, LE, Carbonite Edition, and SE), it’s pretty easy to choose one that’s right for you. Possibly the easiest part about this choice is that each trim comes with the same powertrain setup, a 1.2L MIVEC DOHC engine under the hood. MIVEC is Mitsubishi Motors’ own brand of variable valve timing (VVT), known for improving automobile performance and fuel efficiency. Able to generate 76 horsepower and 75 lb-ft of torque, it doesn’t put a whole lot of stress on the fuel tank.
Driving and Handling
When it comes to controlling all that power, consumers can get more control with a five-speed manual transmission (standard on the ES trim). Or, if the consumer rather keep both hands on the wheel, INVECS-III Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) comes standard on all other trims (available add-on for ES). How does this affect fuel economy? If choosing a trim with CVT, the Mirage G4 has a fuel economy of 35 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. If sticking to a manual transmission, the fuel efficiency drops to 33/40 mpg city/highway.
Style
Exterior Features
When it comes to style, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 keeps things simple with halogen headlights, LED taillights, and a rear spoiler. For something different, the Carbonite edition comes with Carbonite and carbon patterns on the front, side, and rear of the vehicle, as well as its own decals and badge to set it a part. If just looking for enhanced exterior tech, LED high beam headlights that are also automatic, fog lights, and side mirrors with turn signal indicators can be found on the SE trim. The ES trim rides on 14-inch steel wheels, but 15-inch alloy wheels come standard on the rest of the trims.
Interior Features
Again, a little simple at first, but it gets the job done. Standard throughout the cabin of the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 4-way adjustable passenger seat, and a rear seat pass through to the trunk. Don’t worry, automatic climate control and rear heater ducts are also standard across the lineup for keeping a comfortable cabin for all passengers. The only features kept exclusive to the SE trim are heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob.
Technology
Entertainment
Here is where things start to get juicy. Standard across the lineup is a 7-inch smartphone-link display audio system with four speakers, AM/FM Radio, Bluetooth wireless technology, and Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Consumers can keep control over these functions with steering wheel mounted audio, phone, and voice command controls. The only difference is FAST-key entry with push-button start on the SE trim.
Safety Features and Warranty
What Mitsubishi vehicle would be complete without some advanced safety features? The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 comes with all the basics, including anti-locking brakes, active stability control, an advanced dual-stage airbags (including the driver’s knee airbag), three-point seatbelts, a LATCH child seat tether system, a rearview camera, an anti-theft engine immobilizer, and built with Mitsubishi’s signature RISE body construction. If looking for something a little more advanced, forward collision mitigation system with pedestrian control comes with all trims. In addition, if having a little trouble with coloring in the lines, lane departure warning can be found on the SE trim.
All Mitsubishi vehicles are covered by a basic limited warranty for 5 years/60,000 miles, a powertrain limited warranty for 10 years/100,000 miles, 7 years or 100,000 miles of anti-corrosion coverage, and roadside assistance.
