Performance
Engine Type The 2021 Pacifica has a standard 3.6-liter engine that is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The motor is able to muster up an excellent 287 horsepower with 262 lb-ft of torque. There is also a power-saving stop/start function that cuts engine power when the vehicle comes to a stop. If you really want to save on gas, we recommend opting for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the brand’s highly efficient plug-in model. Though this drivetrain is available on all trims, it only has a front-wheel-drive. The hybrid also makes use of a V6 engine. It matches up to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and has a little extra help with the dual electric motors charged by a lithium-ion battery. The Pacifica Hybrid has 260 horsepower and can ride around on 32 miles without the use of gasoline. When the gasoline is activated, it brings the car’s total range up to 520 miles. By either using the 240-volt charger or the included 120-volt, recharging the battery takes a few hours.
Driving and Handling The Pacifica all-wheel-drive system is responsible for giving the minivan more stability and better handling in difficult weather and road surfaces. The car has a sixth sense when it comes to detecting front-wheel slippage and disengages when it is not needed. The electric counterpart is simply smooth and suave with its effective continuously variable transmission (CVT). Even when driving on gasoline power, the ride brings in that necessary punch and makes a seamless transition between both motors.
Style
Exterior Features The style for 2021 is refined and polished with a sleeker look, a new grille, LEDs for the head-, tail-, and foglights, as well as a redesign for the alloy wheels. Additionally, there is a new Fathom Blue paint option. The Pacifica Touring goes road trippin’ on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Limited uses 18-inch alloys. The high-tier Pinnacle trim has 20-inch alloy wheels. Other than its drivetrain, Hybrid models don’t have much distinction from their gasoline siblings, however, one can at least tell the difference with its badging that simply says “hybrid”.
Interior Features Inhouse, the cabin welcomes eight passengers, but that’s only if one opts for a second-row bench rather than two captain’s chairs…that would only be one less person to worry about in the carpool. Hybrid models, however, do not offer a bench. As usual, the cargo room is more than generous, more particularly with the Stow n’Go seating, which makes way for owners to remove second-row seats and store them within the floor. Overall cargo space starts from 32.3 cubic-feet and can reach to 140.5. On top of this, the minivan has a low step-in height and power-operated side doors that allows for easy access for each and every passenger.
Technology
Entertainment A highlighting entertainment feature is undoubtedly the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. By using either the standard 10.1-inch touchscreen or the available 12.3-inch touchscreen, one has access to Amazon Alexa compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation by TomTom, as well as SiriusXM 360L, which is a new streaming and satellite radio service. Buyers also get the option of USB-C ports with this technology. Other conveniences ranging between trims include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, built-in vacuum cleaner, heated second-row seats, tri-pane panoramic sunroof, rear-seat entertainment system, ventilated front seats, and Harman Kardon audio system.
Safety Features and Warranty The 2021 Pacifica has already proven that it will keep you and your passengers safe with its five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). To add to this, it comes with a great range of standard safety features, with highlighting ones including Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane-departure Warning. Buyers are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles with the Limited warranty, 5 years or 60,000 miles for the Powertrain, and 10 years or 100,000 miles for Hybrid components.
