Engine Type The 2020 Kia Sportage balances comfort and sportiness nicely. The base engine it comes with produces sufficient power for highway driving, and the turbocharged option ups its potency. The 181-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard in the Kia Sportage. On the SX Turbo trim it has a 240-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A six-speed automatic transmission comes standard. The base engine is plenty powerful for everyday driving. The turbocharged engine feels more energetic. The six-speed automatic makes smooth shifts. It runs up to 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the base engine. As for the turbo engine, it gets up to 20/28 mpg.
Transmission and Towing The Sportage gives a sweet balance between comfort and sportiness. Front-wheel drive comes standard; all-wheel drive is available. The Sportage’s responsive steering and balanced handling help it feel composed on winding roads. The ride is comfortable too, with the suspension quickly soaking up road flaws.

Exterior Features Kia says the Sportage continues with a “Euro-focused” design, but some changes happened for 2020. In the front, this means a new grille, bumper, air intake, and skid plate. The alloy wheels are also new, and it comes available in 17-, 18- and 19-inch sizes.
