The All-New 2023 Ram ProMaster is Almost Here

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022

The all-new 2023 Ram ProMaster van is almost here. Ram first debuted the new transit van at the National Truck Equipment Association trade show. It was there that consumers got to get a firsthand look at the new and improved van. With the 2023 ProMaster, Ram wanted to ensure that the van would offer more capability and features to better meet the needs of businesses, commercial fleets, and anyone in need of a strong work van. Ram has upgraded almost every aspect of the new van. It has also incorporated some of its electrification processes into the 2023 ProMaster. We’ll break down some of the key upgrades that consumers can expect to see with the new 2023 Ram ProMaster van.

Exterior of the 2023 Ram ProMaster Van

The all-new 2023 Ram ProMaster van has been redesigned to feature a new front end with better-illuminated headlights. There’s also a more accessible roll-up door that makes it easier to load cargo. In terms of configuration setups, the ProMaster offers 19. Owners can choose between different vehicle lengths, wheelbases, and roof heights. For its engine, the ProMaster utilizes a 3.6L V6 engine that’s capable of 276 horsepower and 250lb-ft of torque. This pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission as well as a front-wheel-drive system. In terms of towing capacity, the ProMaster offers 6,910 pounds as well as 4,680 pounds of payload capacity. Ram will also offer a battery-electric version of the ProMaster later in 2023.

Inside the 2023 Ram ProMaster Van

The 2023 Ram ProMaster van also sees an upgraded interior. Most notable is the Uconnect 5 infotainment system which comes with either a 7-inch or 10-inch touchscreen display. Along with the new infotainment system, drivers also have access to a high-resolution backup camera as well as a 360-degree surround-view camera. For convenience, drivers have a push-button starter, keyless entry, and a steering wheel equipped with electronic system controls.

For safety, the 2023 Ram ProMaster offers advanced safety features like parallel and perpendicular park assist, traffic sign recognition, and active driving assist. There’s also crosswind assist and drowsiness detection. The ProMaster van will arrive in the Fall of 2022. The BEV version will be available later in 2023. Ram has not yet set a price for the transit van, but the 2022 Ram ProMaster starts at an MSRP of $37,260 so the 2023 model will likely see a higher price point.

2023 Ram 3500 Spotted With New Refresh

Friday, June 10th, 2022

The 2023 Ram 3500 was recently spotted driving on the road with camouflage wrappings. This indicates that the heavy-duty pickup truck may have a refresh on the way. This is no surprise given that Ram has been busy improving its lineup with new updates and features. As of late, the automaker has been working on its all-new all-electric Ram EV. The electric Ram is slated to have 400 miles of range and a powerful motor setup. Other combustion engine vehicles like the 2023 Ram ProMaster van have also been unveiled and recently, a patent was filed for a mystery Ram pickup with a new grille design. It’s clear that Ram has a lot in store. We’ll take a look at the upcoming 2023 Ram 3500 and see what consumers can expect from the new refresh.

2023 Ram 3500 Spotted, Possible Refresh on the Way

A camouflaged 2023 Ram 3500 was recently spotted performing a test drive. The heavy-duty pickup truck wasn’t fully wrapped, but its hood and side-view mirrors were. This indicates that Ram may aim for a minor refresh rather than a large overhaul. This makes sense given that Ram has already updated its lineup with new features like an all-new Uconnect 5 infotainment system as well as a new trailer 360 view mode. We may see a new trim with this Ram 3500, but this is just speculation for now.

The 2023 Ram 3500 looked to be equipped with a four-door crew cab body style as well as a dually drivetrain. Although the trim wasn’t specified, the heavy-duty pickup was equipped with Ram’s Night Edition package. This package includes changes to the exterior like black exterior badging, black headlight bezels, and a black grille. It also includes black/gray door handles, painted front and rear bumpers, and tow hooks.

Under its hood, the 2023 Ram 3500 had a 6.7L TurboDiesel engine equipped. The heavy-duty pickup features either a high-output 6.7L or a standard variant 6.7L. The high-output engine is capable of 420 horsepower and 1,075lb-ft of torque while the standard engine is capable of 370 horsepower and 850lb-ft of torque. While the engine may not be affected by this refresh, it can’t be ruled out as Ram is always looking to improve its vehicles. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information about the 2023 Ram 3500.

New Patent Hints at Ram 1500 With New Grille and Off-Road Equipment

Thursday, May 26th, 2022

A new patent was recently released depicting a Ram 1500 with a new grille design. The patent also showed the heavy-duty pickup equipped with some new off-road equipment including a snorkel design. This is good news for Ram fans as it may indicate a new mid-cycle refresh is in the works. As of late, Ram has been working on its first electric vehicle, the all-new 2024 Ram EV. The automaker has been busy gauging consumer sentiment for its all-new EV in order to create the ultimate electric pickup. Other vehicles Ram has been working on include the all-new 2023 Ram ProMaster van. For now, we’ll take a look at this new patent and see what Ram could have in the works.

New Ram 1500 Revealed in Patent

Ram has recently unveiled a new patent for a Ram 1500 pickup. This patent shows the heavy-duty pickup with a new grille design as well as some new off-road equipment. This patent was published in April of 2022, so the new pickup is most likely still in production. Although Ram has been busy working on its all-electric Ram EV, the automaker is still making time to refresh its lineup. While Ram has offered consumers powerful new trims with high-performance features like the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX, this new model looks to feature more off-road capability.

The Ram 1500 depicted in Ram’s new patent appears to have a new grille design. The heavy-duty pickup also looks to have new auxiliary lighting attached to the front grille. What leads many to believe this Ram model will feature more off-road capability is the fact that there is a built-in winch along with fender flares with exposed bolts. There is also a large air intake snorkel. Snorkels are typically used on off-road vehicles as a means to prevent dirt and water from entering the engine.

The last time the Ram 1500 featured a new redesign was in 2019. This new patent could be a mid-cycle refresh for the pickup as Ram aims to improve its lineup with new features and technology. Since it looks to be an off-road-oriented vehicle, Ram may offer several other trims that also feature the new redesign. We’ll have to wait for more information, but this is great news for Ram fans.

Ram to Gather Feedback About 2024 Ram 1500 EV Concept Design

Friday, April 22nd, 2022

Ram will be touring the country to gather feedback about its all-electric 2024 Ram 1500 EV. The automaker’s CEO Mike Koval recently spoke at the New York International Auto Show to talk about the EV truck’s concept design and performance metrics. Koval stated that the end concept of the Ram EV would be inspired by the conversations gathered at various events. Ram has been known for its highly capable and versatile pickup trucks. Just recently, the automaker released the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX that comes equipped with a 702-horsepower 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. Although Ram has done well with its powerful combustion engine pickup trucks, the automaker wants to lean into EVs. We’ll take a look at how Ram plans to take its knowledge of powerful gas-powered trucks and translate it into EVs.

Ram Looks for Inspiration for 2024 Ram 1500 EV

The all-new all-electric Ram 1500 EV is set to debut in 2024. Ram has been teasing concept designs as well as potential features that the EV pickup will come equipped with. Since the automaker has some time before the release of the Ram EV, it can boast about the pickup having powerful metrics and features like 500 miles of battery range as well as a range extender. Whether this can be accomplished, we will have to wait and see. With other competitors producing their own EV pickups, however, it’s likely that Ram will do all it can to beat out the competition.

Ram will be holding its Ram Real Talk Tour at various locations throughout the United States. This tour will consist of conversations with truck owners to gauge their opinion on what they would like to see in an electric pickup truck. This could be performance standards, battery range, and overall capability. About the Ram Real Talk Tour, Ram CEO Mike Koval said,

“A lot of our Ram Real Talk feedback is influencing that design,” Koval said. “That design will then influence the product that we bring to market, so it’s all connected. There’s a master plan.”

Thus far, what we know about the 2024 Ram EV is that it will be built on Stellantis’ architectural framework that it utilizes for large trucks and SUVs. This framework can accommodate battery packs up to 200 kWh so this should be enough to meet the desired 500 miles of battery range that Ram wants. As far as horsepower goes, Ram has set estimates from 201 to 443 horsepower. Ram may improve these metrics, but for now, we’ll have to wait for more information.

What Will the All-New All-Electric 2024 Ram EV Look Like?

Friday, April 8th, 2022

The first all-electric Ram pickup is set to launch in 2024. There has been much talk and speculation as to what the 2024 Ram EV will look like, as well as its performance specs. Ram has hinted at these questions with teaser images. They have also boasted that the electric pickup will feature the strongest capability and performance of any EV currently available. These are bold claims, but with an extended time frame, the automaker has the opportunity to make good on them. Another feature that is said to come equipped with the Ram EV is a range extender. We’ll have to wait to confirm all these claims, but for now, we can speculate as to what the electric pickup will look like based on the images presented by Ram.

What Design Will the 2024 Ram EV Have?

The 2024 Ram EV will utilize Stellantis’ new body-on-frame architecture platform. This platform is mostly used for large trucks and SUVs so it will be a great fit for the Ram EV. The architecture will include full-length frame rails which will enclose a flat battery pack. These battery packs will range from 159 kWh to 330 kWh. There have also been rumors of a 660 kWh dual-motor variant so the Ram EV will see some real capability and power. As for the design of the pickup, Ram is hosting an interactive site called RamRevolution.com that will allow consumers to provide feedback about the electric pickup. Updates will be provided as the pickup continues on its journey. There will also be a chance for an open dialogue between the automaker and consumers.

Based on the computer-generated images from Ram, the 2024 Ram EV looks to have a conventional design rather than a futuristic and abstract one. The electric pickup appears to have a rounded profile with an illuminated Ram logo on the panel-like grille. The headlights are not entirely visible in the images, but twin bar DRLs can be seen around the LED headlamps. Looking at the side of the pickup, consumers will note black curves and edges along the side sills.

As for the interior of the 2024 Ram EV, not much is known. It’s likely that the electric pickup will take points from higher-end Ram 1500 trims. This means consumers can expect to see a stylish interior cabin with high-end materials and a large infotainment screen. The pickup will also likely include the latest driver-assist features. We’ll be staying tuned for more information, but based on the images, the 2024 Ram looks to be a top contender in the EV space.

Is there a Ram 1200 in the Works?

Friday, March 25th, 2022

As of late, Ram has been focusing on EVs, specifically the 2024 Ram EV. The all-electric pickup has a later release date compared to other EV pickups, but due to this timeframe, Ram has been eager to outfit the Ram EV with only the best features and capabilities. One of these is a range extender. We’ll have to stay posted for more information, but there are high hopes for the EV pickup. In other news, a rumor was recently released that Stellantis (parent company of Ram) may be working on a smaller gasoline pickup, a Ram 1200. This midsize pickup will rival the Ford ranger and, according to rumors, it may be equipped with a hybrid powertrain, similar to the Ford Maverick. We’ll dive into these rumors, but if there’s any merit to them, this could be great news for Ram.

Potential Ram 1200 in the Works

According to recent rumors, Stellantis has started work on a mid-size pickup truck to rival the Ford Ranger and Maverick. Stellantis has not yet commented on these rumors, but supposedly there’s a Ram 1200 in the works. If this is true, the automaker could see a huge boon to its sales as a smaller pickup could appeal to those consumers who are interested in a pickup, but who have otherwise no experience with a full-size one like the 2022 Ram 1500

According to the rumors, the Ram 1200 would come equipped with hybrid technology. Given the current EV wave, a hybrid pickup would appeal to those looking to reduce carbon emissions. This would also pose a direct competitor to the Ford Maverick which also uses a hybrid powertrain. In terms of engines, the Ram 1200 is slated to feature two choices, gas or diesel. The diesel engine would be a 2.0L four-cylinder capable of 160 horsepower and 148lb-ft of torque. There may also be a turbodiesel capable of 203 horsepower and 325lb-ft of torque.

If a Ram 1200 is in the works, it would most likely utilize Stellantis’ small wide 4×4 platform. Four-wheel drive would also be standard. This is still speculation of course, but if Stellantis does go ahead with the smaller Ram pickup, it will surely lead to a boost in overall sales. This is especially true if the automaker makes it a hybrid setup. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information.

Ram to Release ‘Built to Serve’ Trucks, Inspired by First Responders

Friday, February 25th, 2022

Ram will be launching the second phase of its ‘Built to Serve’ pickup truck lineup. Inspired by first responders, these trucks will honor those who put their lives on the line to save and rescue others. First responders like police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel will be honored with this new lineup of pickups. They will come custom-made with exterior cues, interior upholstery, and profession-aiding features that all honor first responders. The Ram 1500 has served as a powerful and fully capable pickup capable of getting almost any job done. Now Ram will use its powerful pickup to help out those who give so much. We’ll dive in and see what first responders can expect from these pickups, but this is great recognition on Ram’s part.

Ram ‘Built to Serve’ Lineup Announced

Ram will be rolling out its all-new ‘Built to Serve’ lineup inspired by first responders. The pickup trucks will consist of materials and features that aid first responders like police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. Ram has decided to honor those individuals who are always giving to others. These trucks will recognize their hard work and sacrifice to keep the general public safe and protected. About the new ‘Built to Serve’ lineup, Ram brand CEO Mike Koval Jr. said,

“After honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with our initial Built to Serve models, we felt it would be equally important to also extend our gratitude to all first responders who serve or have served our communities,” said Mike Koval Jr. “Whether a first responder or civilian, Ram truck owners are very familiar with this adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce.”

Each truck in the ‘Built to Serve’ lineup will consist of a specialized trim geared toward the corresponding first responder department. They will come equipped with unique low-volume exterior paint colors that represent the MO and history of the pertaining department. The firefighter-inspired Ram 1500 Built to Serve edition will come available in Redline and Diamond Black exterior colors with a black interior and orange accent stitching.

‘Built to Serve’ Interior

Ram’s Built to Serve lineup will consist of unique exterior and interior features that represent each individual first responder department. The Ram 1500 Built to Serve trucks will feature a United States flag and a Built to Serve decal on each of the rear quarter panels. The truck’s exterior will also consist of an all-black grille with black bumpers, black-bezel premium lightning, and 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique Technical Gray finish.

Inside the Built to Serve trucks, first responders will note unique color stitching that matches the pertaining emergency service. The first installment will feature orange accent stitching but the following will match the particular department. The trucks will also feature Built to Serve-embroidered velcro panels on the front seats. There’s also velcro on the front seat inboard shoulder panel. This is for patches, tapes, and any special memorabilia special to the corresponding first responders. The front seat-back panels will also be covered with Pouch Attachment Laddy System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment webbing to allow for special equipment.

Ram’s ‘Built to Serve’ lineup will start at an MSRP of $46,625 (plus destination fee). The first installment will be the firefighter-inspired Ram 1500. These Built to Serve trucks will honor the three main emergency services for all their work. They will recognize and honor police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical service providers.

All-New Ram EV Sees Potential Name, ‘Ram Revolution’

Friday, February 4th, 2022

Stellantis recently filed a trademark application for the name Ram Revolution. This comes as huge news for the automaker as it has been turning its attention toward EVs. Just recently Stellantis stated that it was investing as much as $34 billion into its development and software. Now, as computer-generated images make their way across the internet, many are hoping the news revolves around the all-new all-electric Ram EV. Based on the trademark application, many are assuming that this will be the name for the next-generation electric Ram pickup. It makes sense given Stellantis’ recent statement about starting work on an EV pickup. The automaker was able to disclose a launch date of 2024 for the EV pickup but for now, just the name is enough to satisfy consumers. We’ll be looking at additional information about the Ram EV, but Ram fans will certainly want to stay tuned as Stellantis has stated that it will be offering a more powerful alternative to the Ford F-150 Lightning and Tesla Cybertruck.

Will the Ram EV be called the Ram Revolution?

Ram’s parent company Stellantis recently filed a trademark application with the United States Patent Trademark Office. The application was filed in January of 2022 and it was for the name Ram Revolution. According to the online publication Autoblog, this trademark request applied specifically to passenger truck names. Given Stellantis’ approach to EVs and all the teaser images of the Ram EV pickup, it’s very likely that this will be the name used for the Ram EV.

The all-new all-electric Ram pickup first made an appearance at Stellantis’ EV Day in 2021. The electric pickup was only a computer-generated image, but it still evoked a sense of hope for the future of pickups. Stellantis knows that it will have to compete with Ford and Tesla. Although these competitors have got a headstart on the EV pickup sector, it offers Stellantis a chance to fine-tune their own EV pickup. About the upcoming Ram EV, Ram’s senior brand marketing manager Carl Lally said,

“What we’ve heard from our consumers is that they’re not looking for a compromised truck solution, so really, some of the core attributes that we communicate to our customers about our trucks, the capability and the durability, those aren’t going to change, I think, as you look forward to an EV-oriented truck product.”

Stellantis is making sure to take advantage of the time it has. The Ram EV is set to debut in 2024, so the automaker still has time to enhance and improve its pickup. Stellantis has already started hyping up its pickup stating that the Ram EV will offer 500 miles of battery range. This range is currently unheard of, but as time progresses, automakers may figure out a feasible way to make it happen. We hope to see more of the Ram EV but for now, the Ram Revolution has a nice ring to it.

Amazon to Buy Thousands of Electric Ram ProMaster Vans

Friday, January 28th, 2022

Ram will be entering a purchase agreement with the e-commerce giant Amazon. According to information supplied by the online publication Inside EVs, Ram will be supplying Amazon with thousands of electric Ram ProMaster vans every year starting in 2024. Although Ram has not yet produced an electric ProMaster van, like many other automakers, it has been shifting its focus toward the blooming EV sector. Ram recently announced its plans for an electric Ram pickup, so we’ll have to keep our ears open for more information. This news about electric ProMasters is promising, however. Ram’s ProMaster vans have been updated for the 2022 model year, so they will serve as a good base for electrification. We’ll dive in further and see exactly what Ram plans to do in conjunction with Amazon.

Ram Partners with Amazon for Delivery Trucks

According to the online publication Inside EVs, Ram will be entering into a purchasing agreement with Amazon for electric Ram ProMaster Vans. As per the agreement, Amazon will be buying electric Ram ProMaster vans every year, starting in 2024. For many years, Amazon has been a dominating force in the e-commerce business. As demand for goods increases, so does the need for drivers and delivery vehicles. With the ongoing global climate crisis, however, many automakers have been looking toward electric vehicles as a way to reduce carbon emissions. If Ram is able to supply electric ProMaster vans to Amazon, this will greatly reduce overall carbon emissions. Inside EVs was able to find a very apt comment about the overall agreement. It reads,

“As part of a separate agreement with Stellantis, Amazon will be the first commercial customer for Stellantis’ new Ram ProMaster Battery Electric Vehicle launching in 2023. Stellantis, with input from Amazon, designed the vehicle with unique last-mile delivery features and Amazon will deploy the vehicle to routes across the United States. Building on the current relationship and as part of the long-term agreement, Stellantis and Amazon will be putting thousands of BEV ProMasters on the road every year.”

This will be a great opportunity for Stellantis and Ram. The upcoming ProMaster van will be the brand’s first all-electric model. It is set to debut in the second half of 2023 as a rival to Ford’s E-Transit. Stellantis has not yet revealed any information about the electric ProMaster, but it will be based on the 2022 Ram ProMaster. Amazon will also equip the electric delivery vans with cloud computing services and in-car dashboard software. We’ll be waiting for more information, but so far this is exciting news for Ram.

Ram EV Sees Adjustments Ahead of 2024 Debut

Friday, January 21st, 2022

Ram has made strides with its iconic pickups. The Ram 1500 has earned its fair share of awards and accolades like the best light-duty pickup of 2021. The Ram 1500 TRX has also earned accolades like being the Texas Truck of the Year. With many automakers turning toward EVs and hybrids, Ram is considering jumping into the EV sector as well. The automaker had previously announced plans for its own EV pickup. Now it seems that vision will become a reality. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke about the company’s plans for the Ram EV. According to Tavares, the electric pickup will continue to be modified and improved as the company sees fit. With a 2024 launch date, the automaker still has time to improve its EV pickup. One downside to this extra time, however, is that consumers may remain loyal to another EV pickup and they may not consider the Ram EV. Only time will tell. For now, let’s dive into the upcoming Ram EV.

Ram EV On the Way?

Ram has been sitting cozy lately. The automaker’s pickup trucks have been recognized as some of the best available given their performance and capability. Unfortunately, there comes a time when things switch up and those who were on top must conform, or risk losing their spot. This seems to be the case with the new generation of vehicles as many automakers have been turning toward EVs and hybrids. This shift in the auto industry is primarily due to the ongoing global climate crisis. Governments around the globe have acknowledged this persistent threat and, as such, many have started enacting policies and legislation to help reduce carbon emissions. This brings us to Ram and their EV pickup which they teased over a year ago.

The Ram EV is slated for a 2024 release. Stellantis’ CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke with the financial group Morgan Stanley about the potential features and specs of the all-new all-electric pickup. Tavares stated that his company is gauging consumer interest based on their competitors’ EVs to determine the proper course of their own EV. This is a smart move. Stellantis and Ram can prepare the ultimate EV pickup based on what they feel is most important to consumers. About the company’s decisions, Taveres said,

“We are preparing the EV pickup trucks for 2024, and we are doing it by adjusting the specs and adjusting the performance in function of what we see coming up from our competitors,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. “It’s a fact that we are coming slightly after them. But it’s also a fact that we have the opportunity to adjust the competitiveness and the appeal of our own trucks to what they are doing, which is a competitive game, which is a fantastic situation for the consumer because the real winner of this competition is the consumer.”

When they last spoke about the Ram EV, Ram had said that the mile range would be around 500 miles. This is a huge leap as Ford’s F-150 Lightning currently gets 300 miles of battery range, and Chevy just announced that their Silverado EV will get 400 miles of battery range. If Ram has the capability, and we’re sure they do, consumers will receive the ultimate Ram EV pickup. They just have to wait patiently until 2024.
