Ram Reports Record Sales For 2019

Friday, January 3rd, 2020

A decade ago, as the U.S. automotive industry was in mid-collapse, a new leadership team embarked on an unthinkable mission — the launch of a new brand. That’s how Ram was born, as the Dodge brand announced in October of 2009 that it would be unbundled from its truck division. Now, ten years later, the Ram brand reported record sales of 703,023  vehicles in total for 2019. An 18 percent increase when compared to 2018 figures, these latest numbers mark the highest level of full-year sales achieved in Ram’s history.  (more…)

Miami Lakes AutoMall 2019 Ram 1500 Truck of the Year

On any given week we can see a pickup truck hauling a heavy load, commuting like a sedan, towing recreational equipment such as bicycles and jet skis, chewing up muddy ranchland, or even exploring off-road trails. As the automotive landscape changes, we ask more and more of our pickup trucks than we do of any other vehicle – and we buy plenty of them (2.8 million units sold in 2017). Motor Trend, an American automobile magazine, traditionally recognizes a Truck of the Year and this year the honor goes to none other than the 2019 Ram 1500. According to Motor Trend, there isn’t a truck out there that so precisely caters to the diverse and ever-growing needs of the truck segment better than the 2019 Ram 1500. (more…)

Gone are the days when trucks were created for one of two things – off-roading or being put to work, both of which meant a lack of interior comforts. Yet, time’s are a-changin’, and Ram is transforming their workhorses into luxurious pickup trucks, and the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 Special Edition is no exception. Head of the Ram Brand, Jim Morrison, stated: “customers have been asking for additional high-end features on the Rebel, and now we’re delivering with benchmark technology and materials wrapped in off-road capability.”

Beginning with the power underneath the hood, for the 2019 model year, the Ram Rebel 12 Special Edition is offered on the Ram 1500 model with any cab, color, or powertrain configuration. The Ram Rebel 12 is powered by the standard mild-hybrid 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Consumers also have the option to upgrade to a 5.7-liter V8 engine or a mild-hybrid version that both produce 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. All engine options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, plus a standard four-wheel drive system and an electronic-locking rear differential. Furthermore, the Rebel 12 rides on standard 33-inch Wrangler DuraTrac tires, comes with skid plates that protect the major mechanical components from scraping against the terrain and has Bilstein shocks for improved riding comfort.

When it comes to the infotainment system, Ram spared no expense. The most significant upgrade goes to the 12-inch infotainment system with navigation in comparison to the 8.4-inch display that’s standard on the Rebel trim. “Expanding the availability of the segment-leading Uconnect 4C 12-inch touchscreen is a direct response to market demand,” says Jim Morrison. The fourth generation of Uconnect included in the infotainment system features enhanced processing power, multi-touch gestures, vivid imagery, sharper graphics, and smartphone integrations via Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. Plus, SiriusXM with 360L on-demand content and state-of-the-art listening experience.

Considered by Ram “the finest audio system ever available in a pickup,” the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 Special Edition also features a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system with a 900-watt surround-sound amplifier, 10-inch subwoofer, and active noise cancellation. Similar to the rest of the 2019 Ram pickup truck lineup, the Ram 1500 Rebel 12 delivers an all-new interior cabin with leather-trimmed seating with heated front seats, black and red interior color theme, and notable metal speaker grilles accented with the Rebel’s signature Radar Red metallic-coated finish.

In addition to the amazing features included on the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12, it seems that Ram has also decided to dust itself off and get back into the midsize pickup truck game, especially since Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) discontinued the Dodge Dakota in 2011. According to Automotive News, FCA, Ram Trucks parent company, is doubling down on the midsize market with this as-yet-unnamed body-on-frame truck and the forthcoming Jeep Wrangler pickup. Back in June, Mike Manley, newly-appointed CEO of FCA, promised consumers the truck in a presentation but was very discreet about the details – only mentioning that we should expect to see this new baby Ram sometime in 2020.

The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 has a starting MSRP of $48,685 (plus destination fee), compared to the standard Rebel that is priced at $44,695. Consumers should expect to see the Rebel 12 in dealerships during the fourth quarter of 2018. Ram is celebrating those hard-working farmers and it’s just in time for harvest season. Aimed specifically at America’s farm families, Ram launched the all-new 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab Truck. South Florida Dealers take pride in providing farming communities reliable and durable pickup trucks while supporting the future of farming and the evolution of future leaders in agriculture.

“Addressing a direct request from farmers, Ram is the only manufacturer to offer Chassis Cab commercial trucks in colors that match two of the most popular lines of farm equipment in the nation,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand – FCA North America. “The Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab delivers high capability and gives farming families a way to show their agricultural brand loyalty.”

The 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab was debuted at the Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska earlier this month. The Ram Harvest Edition will be visibly distinguished by two limited-availability colors, Case IH Red and New Holland Blue, while also offering Bright Black and Bright White. The Case IH Red and New Holland Blue mirror the red and blue colors of the Case IH and New Holland tractors plus numerous agricultural equipment that are produced by subdivisions of CNH Industrial. Furthermore, CNH Industrial also shares a common ancestry with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.

Offered in either single-rear-wheel (SRW) or dual-rear-wheel (DRW) flavors, the Harvest Edition will also be available cross the Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 Chassis Cab lineup, and in all four-door Crew Cabs and two-door Regular Cab configurations. 4×4 variants of the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel or the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 are also available powertrain options. The 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab trucks are equipped with several useful features like sizeable front tow hooks, a transfer case skid plate, side steps, fog lamps, and a rear back-up camera. The Harvest package includes body-color wheel flares and an upper fascia, plus chrome headlights, a grille, side-steps, door handles, and mirrors. Polished aluminum wheels also enhance the exterior style of the Harvest Edition and are available in 18-inches on the 3500 models and 19.5-inches on the 4500 and 5500 models.

In addition to the amazing features that the 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab truck offers their agriculture consumers, through the Ram Certified Agriculture Dealership (RCAD) program, Ram is extending their commitment to the farming community by equipping Ram Truck dealers to properly serve the local farmers and ranchers. Designed to educate dealership staff, RCAD requires them to complete a competency-based training course in order for Ram truck dealers to gain a better understanding of the exact needs of the farming and ranching communities. Furthermore, Certified Agricultural Dealerships assist farmers and ranchers in getting the right Ram light-duty, heavy-duty, and commercial trucks for their specific needs while helping them benefit from incentives and bonus offers.

Those dealers that are Certified Agriculturally allow for farm and ranch families to build a close relationship with the dealership staff who have a strong understanding of the farming business. Not only that, but it also indicates the dealership’s commitment to several activities like cherry harvest season, cow-milking schedules, and calving season – all done by modifying certain parts of its operations in order to accommodate the demands of every product during specific seasons.

Ram’s dedication to supporting the future of farming, while paving the way for the next generation of farmers, will continue to be the foundation of the brand’s success. Expected to go on sale towards the end of 2018, the Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab is priced depending on the model. The Ram 3500 MSRP starts at $43,990, Ram 4400 starts at $48,140, and the Ram 5500 starts at $49,240 – excluding the destination fee. Stay updated with all things Ram by following us on social media. We look forward to hearing from ya’ll!

The Seven-Year Itch Is No Match For The Ram 1500

We’ve all heard the common phrase “The Seven-Year Itch.” You know, the supposed decline of happiness in a marriage after (you guessed it) seven years. Fortunately for Ram enthusiasts, this won’t be an issue. According to a study administered by iSeeCars.com, Ram 1500 owners are more inclined to keep their pickup trucks over seven years. Here’s why…

The survey consists of analyzing over six million used vehicles that are at least five-years-old or older. Researchers only examined vehicles that were owned for more than five years and in production for more than nine years, in order to avoid effects from short-term leases. The average age of each vehicle was determined when they were first listed for sale. The study discovered that pickup trucks, as a segment, are owned longer than the overall average of 7.4 to 7.7 years. Comparatively, there is little difference in ownership within the pickup truck segment as it ranges from 7.2 to 7.8 years.

“Pickup trucks are often used as work vehicles and are known for their durability,” said iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly. “Pickup truck drivers are likely to place more value on function and reliability rather than keeping up with modern design and technology trends.”

When it comes to brand names, the Ram 1500 offers long-lasting durability and affordable parts. A common misconception is that older cars are less reliable, but when properly cared for, Ram trucks can hit over 200,000 miles with minimal maintenance issues. That means any truck developed by the legendary Ram brand can still be found in phenomenal condition. Not only that, but parts are affordable and easy to find. For example, consumers can find a part that once belonged to a 2014 or 2015 Ram 1500 model, and chances are, there won’t be an issue installing it into a more recent model.

Aside from durability and affordability, the Ram 1500 also has great overall safety and a plethora of standard safety features onboard. Some of those safety features include:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Traction Control
  • Driver Airbag
  • Passenger Airbag
  • Front and Rear Head Airbag
  • Brake Assist
  • Child Safety Locks

Additionally, any model that is equipped with Uconnect has the ability to immediately connect to 911 in the event of an emergency situation. So, whether consumers prefer a new or used Ram 1500, there is little room for disappointment. Come test drive the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 today at the Miami Lakes Automall. Located in Miami Lakes, FL, we offer a huge variety of new and used cars. For more information, visit our website or follow us on social media.
