New Ram trucks have some pretty cool features to improve efficiency and driveability. Some features, like active grille shutters, are automatically controlled by the truck and other features, like the Active-Level four corner air suspension and electronic trailer brake controller, can be controlled by the driver.

The Ram Power Wagon is equipped with Ram’s all-powerful 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, which produces up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.The engine’s heavy-duty engine results in a lot of power for towing up to 10,300 pounds and is excellent for off-roading.
Other features that help to make the Power Wagon an adventuring beast are the electronically lockable front and rear axles and hill descent control. The truck’s 17-inch forged aluminum wheels and 33-inch all-terrain tires take a lot more than mud to get stuck, but just in case another truck needs to get pulled out, there is an electronically controlled 12,000 pound winch in the front. 2016 is more than halfway over, which means 2017 Ram trucks models are coming. Here is the breakdown of the additions and changes to the new 2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 lineups.
2017 Ram 1500 Lineup Changes
The 1500 Ram truck is a light-duty pickup truck that handles basic towing needs with ease. In 2017 Ram 1500 will be available in 11 different trims: Tradesman, Express, HFE, Big Horn, Lone Star, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited.
Aside from a new special-edition appearance package and a few additional features on the Ram Rebel and Laramie Longhorn trims, not much has changed to the 1500 model lineup. In 2017, the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn will be equipped with LED lighting in the truck bed, Keyless Go entry and rain sensing wipers.
For the 2017 model year, the aggressive Ram Rebel model will get a few extra interior features that add a touch of luxury. For extra convenience, all Ram Rebel models will be equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a rearview backup camera, remote start and rear park assist.
Additionally, Ram is rolling out a special-edition Night Edition appearance package to the Ram 1500 lineup. This new package gives the Ram 1500 sharp, dark and factory-inspired look that is reminiscent of the Ram 1500 Black Express. If you purchase a new Ram 1500, there are many features and packages a buyer can add depending on their style and entertainment wants and needs. Some popular features and packages available with a new Ram purchase include UConnect upgrades, the Popular Entertainment group, Luxury group, and Black Appearance package. Each on of these packages are only available on select trims.
Black Appearance Package
The Black Appearance group package, which is optional on the 1500 Express trim, includes lots of features that add darker and a more aggressive look to a new Ram truck. The package includes all black accessories. The appearance package includes 20-inch semi-gloss black aluminum wheels, a 4×4 flat black badge, black headlamp bezels, a black painted honeycomb grille, a black Ram head tailgate badge and a semi-gloss black center cap.
UConnect Upgrades and Systems
UConnect is the entertainment system available on vehicles made by the various brands owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Ram 1500 Tradesman, the base 1500 trim, comes standard with an FM/Am radio, however buyers can upgrade to a 5.0 Uconnect system. The 5.0 Uconnect system includes a 5.0-inch screen with SiriusXM capability, and FM/AM radio. This system comes standard on the 1500 SLT.
There is also an upgraded 8.4 Uconnect system available on other 1500 trims. The biggest difference between the 5.0 Uconnect and the 8.4 Uconnect system is the size, however the 8.4 Uconnect system can also be paired to a backup camera and navigation as well.
