There’s no road — paved or not — that the Ram 1500 TRX can’t conquer with its over-the-top supercharged engine, more than 700 horsepower, and a wading depth of 32 inches. Perhaps the fact that the Ram 1500 TRX is pumping out 650 lb-ft of torque has something to do with the fact that it’s such an off-road beast, or maybe it’s the fact that it only needs 4.5 seconds to go from 0 -60 mph — regardless, few vehicles on the current market come close to these performance numbers. Here are four things we love about the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. (more…)
Auto enthusiasts should know it’s within reason to not only call the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX the Hellcat pickup, it’s encouraged! It can also be called the Ford Raptor’s bitter rival as well. Other equally acceptable monikers include: bonkers, monster pickup, and many others. Ram and the team recently showed off the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX during a traveling show that managed to make its way through the Chicago suburbs. Although Ram Trucks was not offering any driving impressions, the brand did agree to a cold-engine start on an icy Chicago morning. The 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine found beneath the hoods of the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and even the Dodge Durango, instantly came to life that chilly fall morning. (more…)

It’s not easy to pick out the toughest Ram truck models, especially with the larger vehicles like the heavy duty 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 models, so we’re just going to focus on three Ram truck trims designed for off-roading. The three best off-road Ram truck trims are the Ram 1500 Rebel, the Ram Power Wagon, and the upcoming TRX series.

Standard on the Ram 1500 Rebel is the 3.6-liter V6 engine, optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) technology to increase its performance. With this engine, the Ram 1500 Rebel can generate 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. If looking for more power when going off-road, then consumers will also want more torque. With that comes the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine and it is able to generate 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
