Ram to Gather Feedback About 2024 Ram 1500 EV Concept Design

Ram will be touring the country to gather feedback about its all-electric 2024 Ram 1500 EV. The automaker’s CEO Mike Koval recently spoke at the New York International Auto Show to talk about the EV truck’s concept design and performance metrics. Koval stated that the end concept of the Ram EV would be inspired by the conversations gathered at various events. Ram has been known for its highly capable and versatile pickup trucks. Just recently, the automaker released the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX that comes equipped with a 702-horsepower 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. Although Ram has done well with its powerful combustion engine pickup trucks, the automaker wants to lean into EVs. We’ll take a look at how Ram plans to take its knowledge of powerful gas-powered trucks and translate it into EVs.

Ram Looks for Inspiration for 2024 Ram 1500 EV

The all-new all-electric Ram 1500 EV is set to debut in 2024. Ram has been teasing concept designs as well as potential features that the EV pickup will come equipped with. Since the automaker has some time before the release of the Ram EV, it can boast about the pickup having powerful metrics and features like 500 miles of battery range as well as a range extender. Whether this can be accomplished, we will have to wait and see. With other competitors producing their own EV pickups, however, it’s likely that Ram will do all it can to beat out the competition.

Ram will be holding its Ram Real Talk Tour at various locations throughout the United States. This tour will consist of conversations with truck owners to gauge their opinion on what they would like to see in an electric pickup truck. This could be performance standards, battery range, and overall capability. About the Ram Real Talk Tour, Ram CEO Mike Koval said,

“A lot of our Ram Real Talk feedback is influencing that design,” Koval said. “That design will then influence the product that we bring to market, so it’s all connected. There’s a master plan.”

Thus far, what we know about the 2024 Ram EV is that it will be built on Stellantis’ architectural framework that it utilizes for large trucks and SUVs. This framework can accommodate battery packs up to 200 kWh so this should be enough to meet the desired 500 miles of battery range that Ram wants. As far as horsepower goes, Ram has set estimates from 201 to 443 horsepower. Ram may improve these metrics, but for now, we’ll have to wait for more information.

What Will the All-New All-Electric 2024 Ram EV Look Like?

The first all-electric Ram pickup is set to launch in 2024. There has been much talk and speculation as to what the 2024 Ram EV will look like, as well as its performance specs. Ram has hinted at these questions with teaser images. They have also boasted that the electric pickup will feature the strongest capability and performance of any EV currently available. These are bold claims, but with an extended time frame, the automaker has the opportunity to make good on them. Another feature that is said to come equipped with the Ram EV is a range extender. We’ll have to wait to confirm all these claims, but for now, we can speculate as to what the electric pickup will look like based on the images presented by Ram.

What Design Will the 2024 Ram EV Have?

The 2024 Ram EV will utilize Stellantis’ new body-on-frame architecture platform. This platform is mostly used for large trucks and SUVs so it will be a great fit for the Ram EV. The architecture will include full-length frame rails which will enclose a flat battery pack. These battery packs will range from 159 kWh to 330 kWh. There have also been rumors of a 660 kWh dual-motor variant so the Ram EV will see some real capability and power. As for the design of the pickup, Ram is hosting an interactive site called RamRevolution.com that will allow consumers to provide feedback about the electric pickup. Updates will be provided as the pickup continues on its journey. There will also be a chance for an open dialogue between the automaker and consumers.

Based on the computer-generated images from Ram, the 2024 Ram EV looks to have a conventional design rather than a futuristic and abstract one. The electric pickup appears to have a rounded profile with an illuminated Ram logo on the panel-like grille. The headlights are not entirely visible in the images, but twin bar DRLs can be seen around the LED headlamps. Looking at the side of the pickup, consumers will note black curves and edges along the side sills.

As for the interior of the 2024 Ram EV, not much is known. It’s likely that the electric pickup will take points from higher-end Ram 1500 trims. This means consumers can expect to see a stylish interior cabin with high-end materials and a large infotainment screen. The pickup will also likely include the latest driver-assist features. We’ll be staying tuned for more information, but based on the images, the 2024 Ram looks to be a top contender in the EV space.

What We Know About the 2024 Ram EV Thus Far

Ram has been teasing the all-new 2024 Ram EV as the next-generation electric pickup. As a direct competitor to Ford and Tesla, Ram understands that its electric Ram 1500 will have to have more capability and better performance. Since Ram has until 2024 to perfect its electric pickup, the automaker has been working tirelessly to implement the best features and ensure that the pickup is highly capable. Ram has discussed possible features like a range extender. Aside from the Ram EV, Ram has also been working on electric Ram ProMaster trucks. Many automakers have been aiming to add EVs to their lineup, but some are having a tougher time than others. Ram seems to have a clear vision so we’ll take a look at what the 2024 Ram EV is set to arrive with.

What to Expect From the 2024 Ram EV

Ram’s all-new 2024 Ram EV has been shown off in teaser videos and at special events. Although the electric pickup has been shown with computer-generated images, the design Ram is aiming for is somewhat clear. The front end of the pickup appears with an illuminated RAM logo situated in a panel-like grille. The pickup’s headlights are not too visible, but twin bar DRLs can be seen surrounding the LED headlamps. From the teaser images, the 2024 Ram EV design seems to embody an innovative future while still maintaining conventional elements. It seems the automaker may be following the F-150 Lightning route rather than the geometrical Tesla Cybertruck.

As far as the interior cabin of the 2024 Ram EV goes, not much is known. The EV pickup will most likely take from the higher level Ram 1500 trims as they feature a stylish and luxurious upholstery. A large infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, and heads-up display can be expected. At the side of the electric pickup are black curves and edges along the side sills though not too much can be gleaned. As for the back of the Ram EV, the rear features a similar style to the front with a high bedside, full-width LED taillamps, and the illuminated RAM logo in red.

Ram will be utilizing Stellantis’ body-on-frame architecture platform for the 2024 Ram EV. This frame is mostly used for large trucks and SUVs so it will be perfect for the Ram EV as it’s large enough to accommodate battery packs ranging from 159 kWh to 200 kWh. The electric pickup will likely make use of electric motors ranging from 150kW to 330 kW. We’re not sure if the pickup will be a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel, but these motors should help give the truck some real oomph. There may even be a 660 kW dual-motor variant in the works. For now, we’ll be paying close attention to any additional features Ram may include with its 2024 Ram EV.

Ram Shares More About Upcoming Ram EV

As of late, Ram has been busy teasing the upcoming all-electric Ram EV. The automaker has teased the name Ram Revolution, but besides the fitting name, there has not been much information about the automaker’s first EV. We do know that the electric Ram pickup is slated for a 2024 release date. We also know that Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares has stated that the Ram EV will feature powerful capabilities and an impressive battery range. Given the long road ahead, Ram can really focus on the essentials of what constitutes a Ram EV. Stellantis has also been investing in software development, so it’s likely this will make its way into the pickup. Tavares recently spoke recently about his visions for the electric pickup, so we’ll go over them and what that means for those looking forward to the 2024 Ram EV.

Stellantis CEO Speaks on Ram EV Vision

In the midst of a zero-carbon emission revolution, many automakers have been considering how they can best present their own version of an electric vehicle. Although best known for their gas-powered Ram 1500, faced with the goal of reducing global emissions, Ram has decided to take all that they know about pickup trucks, and create the perfect EV pickup. Thus is born the Ram EV, or Ram Revolution (we like the latter).

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke about the Ram EV in Amsterdam. Tavares showcased the outline of the Ram EV and presented the vision his team was working toward. Sketches of the upcoming EV pickup showed the Ram EV with modern and sleek aerodynamic lines. On the tailgate, the words Ram could be seen in the center with red lights sprawling along the sides and across the top. Tavares said that although the Ram EV will be arriving late to the market, its performance packages along with its time to charge and battery range would make up for the tardiness.

Not much is currently known about the 2024 Ram EV, but from what we’ve heard it promises to be strong and competitive. Based on the sketches, it seems like the electric pickup will resemble the Silverado EV with a futuristic design rather than the conventional truck design seen with the F-150 Lightning. Ram has also promised to equip the Ram EV with a range extender, so we’ll have to stay tuned to learn all about the all-electric pickup.

Ram EV Sees Adjustments Ahead of 2024 Debut

Ram has made strides with its iconic pickups. The Ram 1500 has earned its fair share of awards and accolades like the best light-duty pickup of 2021. The Ram 1500 TRX has also earned accolades like being the Texas Truck of the Year. With many automakers turning toward EVs and hybrids, Ram is considering jumping into the EV sector as well. The automaker had previously announced plans for its own EV pickup. Now it seems that vision will become a reality. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke about the company’s plans for the Ram EV. According to Tavares, the electric pickup will continue to be modified and improved as the company sees fit. With a 2024 launch date, the automaker still has time to improve its EV pickup. One downside to this extra time, however, is that consumers may remain loyal to another EV pickup and they may not consider the Ram EV. Only time will tell. For now, let’s dive into the upcoming Ram EV.

Ram EV On the Way?

Ram has been sitting cozy lately. The automaker’s pickup trucks have been recognized as some of the best available given their performance and capability. Unfortunately, there comes a time when things switch up and those who were on top must conform, or risk losing their spot. This seems to be the case with the new generation of vehicles as many automakers have been turning toward EVs and hybrids. This shift in the auto industry is primarily due to the ongoing global climate crisis. Governments around the globe have acknowledged this persistent threat and, as such, many have started enacting policies and legislation to help reduce carbon emissions. This brings us to Ram and their EV pickup which they teased over a year ago.

The Ram EV is slated for a 2024 release. Stellantis’ CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke with the financial group Morgan Stanley about the potential features and specs of the all-new all-electric pickup. Tavares stated that his company is gauging consumer interest based on their competitors’ EVs to determine the proper course of their own EV. This is a smart move. Stellantis and Ram can prepare the ultimate EV pickup based on what they feel is most important to consumers. About the company’s decisions, Taveres said,

“We are preparing the EV pickup trucks for 2024, and we are doing it by adjusting the specs and adjusting the performance in function of what we see coming up from our competitors,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. “It’s a fact that we are coming slightly after them. But it’s also a fact that we have the opportunity to adjust the competitiveness and the appeal of our own trucks to what they are doing, which is a competitive game, which is a fantastic situation for the consumer because the real winner of this competition is the consumer.”

When they last spoke about the Ram EV, Ram had said that the mile range would be around 500 miles. This is a huge leap as Ford’s F-150 Lightning currently gets 300 miles of battery range, and Chevy just announced that their Silverado EV will get 400 miles of battery range. If Ram has the capability, and we’re sure they do, consumers will receive the ultimate Ram EV pickup. They just have to wait patiently until 2024.
