What to Know About the All-New 2022 Ram 1500

Friday, October 8th, 2021

Ram has updated the 2022 Ram 1500 to be more reliable, more comfortable, and depending on the trim, much more adaptable. The 2022 Ram 1500 is a full-sized pickup capable of getting the job done. If towing or hauling is required, the Ram 1500 is a great choice. For off-roading, the Ram 1500’s BackCountry trim makes for an excellent selection. If performance is preferred, the Ram 1500 features a G/T package that guarantees powerful performance. Truly the Ram 1500 offers versatility unlike any other pickup. Ram has made sure to update its iconic pickup for the 2022 model year with features, upgrades, and interior aesthetics that make it an optimal choice for pickup fans. Ram owners will enjoy comfort and luxury blended into a powerful beast of a pickup. We’ll dive in deeper to see just what Ram owners can expect for the 2022 Ram 1500.

The 2022 Ram 1500 is Versatile

The standard 2022 Ram 1500 comes equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine capable of 305 horsepower. Ram did not update the engine to be more powerful for 2022, but this is where the versatility of the Ram 1500 comes into play. Ram offers several trims and package upgrades that allow Ram owners to customize their pickup how they want. For more power and performance, the Ram G/T sport package for the Laramie and Rebel trims does more than enough. This package includes a unique exhaust system, paddle shifters, and cold-air intake. It features a larger V8 engine, air suspension, and front and rear camera sensors. With this sports package, Ram 1500 owners can push their pickup to peak performance.

Another trim that expands the Ram 1500’s versatility is the BackCountry edition. This trim reinforces off-road capabilities as it makes use of a 4×4 Off-Road Group Package. This package includes tow hooks, skid plates, off-road-tuned shocks, hill descent control, all-terrain tires, and a rear electronic locking differential. The BackCountry Ram 1500 also comes equipped with either a 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine or a 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine with Ram’s eTorque mild hybrid system. Another trim for the Ram 1500 is the Limited 10th Anniversary edition which focuses heavily on luxury. This trim adds comfort and luxury both outside and inside the Ram 1500. There’s truly something for everyone.

Inside the 2022 Ram 1500

The 2022 Ram 1500 features a more comfortable interior. The Limited 10th Anniversary edition bumps interior comfort and luxury up a couple of levels, but the base pickup has its own level as well. Features inside the Ram 1500 include heated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a ton of cabin space. Higher trims include more driver-assist features and conveniences like a 12-inch touchscreen. Of course, these end up costing more but the value of the features makes it well worth it.

The 2022 Ram 1500 comes with safety features like front and rear parking sensors, a 360° surround-view camera, and automatic emergency braking. The starting price for the 2022 Ram 1500 is $33,975 (plus destination fee), but this price gets more expensive with higher-end trims. The G/T Package, for example, on the Rebel and Laramie trims can go for $47,850 (plus destination fee) and the BackCountry edition goes for $38,700 (plus destination fee). The price points can be discouraging but for the number of features, they can be well worth it. Really it comes down to what Ram owners want out of their 2022 Ram 1500. The pickup offers just about everything a pickup owner could want which makes it so versatile and capable.

Ram to release 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Edition

Friday, July 30th, 2021

Ram has been rolling out new trims for the 2022 Ram 1500 one after another. With its recent performance, it’s no wonder Ram is working to improve upon the iconic pickup. Having released the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition in celebration of a decade of success, Ram is now focusing on another trim. This new trim is to be off-road-focused. It makes sense as Ram recently announced a GT upgrade package for the Ram 1500 Laramie and Rebel. Focusing more on off-road capabilities and performance, Ram is releasing the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry edition later in 2021.

 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Edition

The all-new 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry edition trim is to be based on the Ram 1500 Big Horn. The new Ram trim will combine Ram’s most popular packages to create a unique off-road pickup. Equipped with a four-wheel drive, the BackCountry trim will add the 4×4 Off-Road Group Package. This will include tow hooks, skid plates, off-road-tuned shocks, hill descent control, all-terrain tires, and a rear electronic locking differential. Ready to tackle any off-road obstacle, the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry is a tougher pickup than ever before.

Along with the Off-Road Group package, the off-road pickup will include Ram’s Bed Utility Group package. This will include upper adjustable tie-downs, a deployable bed step, a bed extender, in-bed LED lighting, and a spray-in bed liner.

The 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry will come available with either the standard 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine or the 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine with Ram’s eTorque mild hybrid system.

Interior & Exterior of the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry

What makes the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry special is the interior and exterior. Inside the off-road pickup is a black interior with bucket seats. A 7-inch infotainment screen is situated in the center console (though an upgradeable 8.4-inch Uconncet screen may be available), and a BackCountry badge is displayed on the instrument panel. The off-road pickup also comes with Mopar all-weather slush mats.

As for the exterior, this is where the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry pickup really shines. A combination of the Sport Appearance package and Night Edition gives the BackCountry trim a body-colored grille. Along with this are 18-inch black-painted wheels, black badges, black headlight bezels, black mirror caps, and black exhaust tips. The off-road pickup also gets running boards and a tonneau cover.

The 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry edition will start at $41,780 MSRP (plus destination fee). The new off-road pickup will increase the versatility of the Ram 1500 series, furthering its success. It will be available in the fall of 2021.
