The Ram 1500 Classic is the Ideal Pickup for Enthusiasts

Friday, November 12th, 2021

Ram has been dominating lately with its Ram 1500. The rough and tough pickup was recently ranked first among light-duty pickup trucks in a 2021 APPEAL Study. Given its capability, durability, and overall toughness as a pickup, the Ram 1500 has continued to be an iconic truck. Ram offers the Ram 1500 with a range of combinations and features. Consumers wanting a truck oriented toward hauling can opt for Towing packages while those looking for an everyday truck can opt for more luxurious trims like the Laramie or Rebel trim. Better still, Ram offers specialty Ram trucks like the TRX RexRunner for those wanting more excitement out of their pickup. All these are great choices but one Ram pickup that holds up and is relatively affordable is the Ram 1500 Classic. We’ll take a look at this light-duty pickup and check out its versatility.

Checking Out The Ram 1500 Classic

The Ram 1500 Classic is one of the most affordable yet capable pickups available. The pickup starts at an MSRP of $29,490 (plus destination fee) and comes standard with a 3.6L V6 engine capable of 305 horsepower. Consumers can opt for higher outputs like a 5.7L Hemi V8, but the V6 can certainly get the job done. The Ram 1500 Classic uses an automatic transmission and it can tow up to 8240 pounds when equipped with the right features. Given the capabilities, this pickup is well worth the price.

Where the Ram 1500 Classic shines is with its powertrain and affordable price. While the interior and exterior may not be anything to brag about, it’s likely that those consumers wanting an affordable pickup may not be too concerned with luxury and design. The exterior of the Ram Classic, for example, is a throwback to previous Ram trucks so there isn’t too much in terms of detail. This is also a way to save costs. Still, there are three trim levels for the pickup including the Tradesmen, the Express, and the Warlock. The Tradesmens trim features a black neutral front design and simple wheels. The Express trim comes with a painted front end and upgraded wheels. The Warlock trim is the higher-end of the three and it features a new front fascia and aggressive paint schemes. It also comes with black wheels.

Though the Ram 1500 Classic looks pretty barebones both inside and out, it features different body style options. Consumers can opt for either a two-door style or, with an extended cab option, a four-door style. The Ram’s bed comes standard at 6 foot 4 inches but an 8-foot option can be chosen as well. For those wanting more durability, a 4×4 option is available. Overall, the Ram 1500 Classic is the ultimate pickup in terms of affordability. It’s got toughness and is capable of getting the job done no matter what that may be.

The newest accolades for the pickup come from the Texas Motor Press Association Off-Road Invitational which focuses on bringing automotive industry professionals together to highlight different aspects of the industry. The audience is primarily Texas-based but the membership is made up of automotive journalists who cover a range of vehicles from cars, trucks, and SUVs to ATVs and UTVs. The Ram does all that and more with the latest technology and safety features. About the Ram 1500, the president of the Texas Motor Press Association Bryan Grant said,

“The challenging off-road trails were no problem for Ram 1500 TRX as it easily trekked over the roads with massive horsepower, multiple drive modes and lofty ground clearance. It was so much fun to experience the truck conquer the trails. We all took notice of the wild animal roar exhaust note off in the distance,” said Bryan Grant, the president of Texas Motor Press Association.

Given the Ram 1500’s capabilities, many recognize it as an industry-standard pickup truck. The Ram truck brand was first started in 2009. It began as a stand-alone division focused on meeting the needs and demands of truck buyers. The brand has grown exponentially over the years as it has expanded its lineup with vehicles like the Ram 1500, Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, and 3500/4500/5500 series Chassis Cabs. The brand also offers its ProMaster vans which allow groups to travel together with their equipment. Overall Ram has stayed true to its mission of building trucks that get hard work done and take families where they need to go.

Ram will continue to build on its lineup as it offers higher performance, greater convenience, and lasting durability. The automaker has racked up award after award each year. As the years go by, people will continue to depend on a strong pickup. With their new Know and Go mobile app, Ram is aiming to increase customer satisfaction and deliver more immersive experiences. We’ll have to see where the automaker goes from here, but right now it looks like its lead is stronger than ever.

The Ram 1500 was recently ranked first among light-duty pickups in a 2021 APEAL study. As one of Ram’s most iconic vehicles, the Ram 1500 deserves all its praise. The light-duty pickup offers consumers a powerful, durable, and capable vehicle that seems to have unmatched versatility. With so many different trims each offering consumers specific traits, the Ram 1500 has solidified itself as a go-to option for dedicated pickup owners. For the 2022 model year, Ram has updated the Ram 1500 with new features and technology. Offered with either a crew cab or quad cab configuration, the 2022 Ram 1500 offers a level of versatility not seen in other pickups. We’ll dive into the interior of the 2022 Ram 1500 crew cab and see just what’s offered for the new year model pickup.

Looking at the 2022 Ram 1500’s Interior

The 2022 Ram 1500 Crew Cab has a host of new features and technologies. The light-duty pickup is very versatile in that it has many options for configurations like engine choice for example. The 2022 Ram 1500 can come equipped with a 3.6L V6, a 5.7L Hemi V8, a 3.0L turbodiesel, or a supercharged 6.2L V8. It depends on necessity and the owner’s desired performance. The availability of choice provides owners with a multitude of specifications so they can get the best out of their pickup. All standard V6 engines feature an eTorque mild-hybrid system while the V8 can be ordered with or without it. This hybrid system uses an electric motor to improve fuel economy, acceleration, and smoothness.

The 2022 Ram 1500 comes in either a quad cab or crew cab configuration. Consumers can purchase either a short (5-foot-7) or a long (6-foot-4) box. With close to ten different trims, owners can choose their preferred interior aesthetic. The 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Ram, for example, includes more luxurious features and upscale upholstery. This Ram trim features quilted leather seats and door inserts along with a suede headline that extends to the overhead visors. It also features a premium 19-speaker sound system. As for space and storage, the Ram 1500 features a spacious interior. An under-armrest storage bin in the first row is large enough to fit a 15-inch laptop and cubby holes can also be found on the doors. The rear seats can fold forward for even more storage space. In total, the Ram 1500 Crew Cab offers 132.4 cubic feet of passenger space.

Looking at the 2022 Ram 1500’s Features and Technology

The 2022 Ram 1500 Crew Cab comes with a multitude of features and driver-assist technologies. Despite each trim offering specific features, the overall controls inside the pickup are easily accessible and easy to use. A 12-inch infotainment screen provides access to car diagnostics and entertainment like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A head-up display allows drivers to stay informed about their speed, gears, and directions while keeping their eyes on the road. A digital rearview mirror also helps provide a clearer view of what’s behind the vehicle in real-time.

As mentioned, the 2022 Ram 1500 comes available with many different trims. Some of these include the Laramie trim, Big Horn, TRX, and Tradesman. Each offers owners specific features like heated leather seats, a bigger infotainment screen, or specifications to help with towing and hauling. The base 2022 Ram 1500 starts at an MSRP of $32,795 (plus destination fee). This price scales up with higher-end trims but the cost is well worth the additional features. The Ram 1500 offers versatility unseen with other pickups. We’ll have to see what else Ram has in store for its iconic pickup, but for now, it’s a clear winner among its class.

What to Know About the All-New 2022 Ram 1500

Friday, October 8th, 2021

Ram has updated the 2022 Ram 1500 to be more reliable, more comfortable, and depending on the trim, much more adaptable. The 2022 Ram 1500 is a full-sized pickup capable of getting the job done. If towing or hauling is required, the Ram 1500 is a great choice. For off-roading, the Ram 1500’s BackCountry trim makes for an excellent selection. If performance is preferred, the Ram 1500 features a G/T package that guarantees powerful performance. Truly the Ram 1500 offers versatility unlike any other pickup. Ram has made sure to update its iconic pickup for the 2022 model year with features, upgrades, and interior aesthetics that make it an optimal choice for pickup fans. Ram owners will enjoy comfort and luxury blended into a powerful beast of a pickup. We’ll dive in deeper to see just what Ram owners can expect for the 2022 Ram 1500.

The 2022 Ram 1500 is Versatile

The standard 2022 Ram 1500 comes equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine capable of 305 horsepower. Ram did not update the engine to be more powerful for 2022, but this is where the versatility of the Ram 1500 comes into play. Ram offers several trims and package upgrades that allow Ram owners to customize their pickup how they want. For more power and performance, the Ram G/T sport package for the Laramie and Rebel trims does more than enough. This package includes a unique exhaust system, paddle shifters, and cold-air intake. It features a larger V8 engine, air suspension, and front and rear camera sensors. With this sports package, Ram 1500 owners can push their pickup to peak performance.

Another trim that expands the Ram 1500’s versatility is the BackCountry edition. This trim reinforces off-road capabilities as it makes use of a 4×4 Off-Road Group Package. This package includes tow hooks, skid plates, off-road-tuned shocks, hill descent control, all-terrain tires, and a rear electronic locking differential. The BackCountry Ram 1500 also comes equipped with either a 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine or a 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine with Ram’s eTorque mild hybrid system. Another trim for the Ram 1500 is the Limited 10th Anniversary edition which focuses heavily on luxury. This trim adds comfort and luxury both outside and inside the Ram 1500. There’s truly something for everyone.

Inside the 2022 Ram 1500

The 2022 Ram 1500 features a more comfortable interior. The Limited 10th Anniversary edition bumps interior comfort and luxury up a couple of levels, but the base pickup has its own level as well. Features inside the Ram 1500 include heated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a ton of cabin space. Higher trims include more driver-assist features and conveniences like a 12-inch touchscreen. Of course, these end up costing more but the value of the features makes it well worth it.

The 2022 Ram 1500 comes with safety features like front and rear parking sensors, a 360° surround-view camera, and automatic emergency braking. The starting price for the 2022 Ram 1500 is $33,975 (plus destination fee), but this price gets more expensive with higher-end trims. The G/T Package, for example, on the Rebel and Laramie trims can go for $47,850 (plus destination fee) and the BackCountry edition goes for $38,700 (plus destination fee). The price points can be discouraging but for the number of features, they can be well worth it. Really it comes down to what Ram owners want out of their 2022 Ram 1500. The pickup offers just about everything a pickup owner could want which makes it so versatile and capable.

It’s no wonder the Ram 1500 pickup has found so much success given its capability and powerful performance. Ram has been steadily releasing new trims and package upgrades for the pickup like the Ram Back Country. Others include the Ram Laramie/Rebel G/T package upgrades which boost performance even further. These all provide the Ram 1500 with new features both inside and outside. 2021 Ram 1500 Ranks First Among Light-Duty Pickups in New APEAL Study

Friday, September 24th, 2021
Ram 1500 TRX

Ram has earned yet another accolade for its Ram 1500 pickup. According to the J.D. Power 2021 Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) study, the 2021 Ram 1500 ranked first among light-duty pickups. This APEAL study uses consumer sentiment and feedback to gauge which vehicle is more favorable. Overall, the Dodge brand managed to rank first, the second year in a row. For Ram, the automaker took second place, also for the second year in a row. 2021 has been a great year for both automakers. Ram has seen much success with its Ram 1500 with several package options and trims being released like the 2022 Ram 1500 Backcountry. With consumer satisfaction at its highest, the automaker looks to continue to enjoy its success.

Ram 1500 Ranks First Among Pickups

According to the 2021 APEAL study, the 2021 Ram 1500 ranked first among light-duty pickups. The high-performing pickup has dominated markets for a while now. In 2020 the pickup earned the same first-place ranking, thus solidifying it as an optimal pickup truck. The APEAL study gauges consumer satisfaction by looking at feedback during the first three months of ownership. Vehicle attributes like seating comfort, throttle response, and other key characteristics make up a score based on a 1,000 point scale. About their market success, the Stellantis Head of Customer Experience North America Mark Champine said,

“I said last year that we would keep the throttle wide open, and these various results demonstrate our continuing resolve to do so,” said Mark Champine. “We remain on a mission to do better for our customers, and we know we have more work to do.”

Mark Champine, Stellantis Head of Customer Experience North America

The APEAL study aggregates all the characteristics of each nominated vehicle and gives each a score out of 1,000. For the 2021 Ram 1500, the APEAL score totaled 881. This score was 10 points higher than the 2020 APEAL study which means Ram has managed to raise and solidify the Ram 1500’s status as a great pickup to own. Along with the APEAL score, Ram as a brand managed to place second within the automotive industry. This was a step up from last year as the automaker had placed third among mass markets brands.

The 2021 Ram 1500 has earned Ram a spot among the best automotive companies. The tough pickup managed to raise the automaker to the highest echelons with its high performance, tough durability, and iconic look. The Ram 1500 will continue to play a dominating role within the pickup truck sphere. As automakers move toward electric vehicles, we’ll have to see how consumer satisfaction and sentiment react to changes. It seems automakers have been split between moving toward new innovations like with Tesla’s Cybertruck and keeping to traditional aspects like with Ford’s F-150 Lightning. Either way, the consumers will have the power to choose. We will be looking forward to the 2022 APEAL study and its findings.

2022 Ram ProMaster Van Looks to be a Strong Competitor as a Transit Vehicle

Thursday, September 16th, 2021
Ram ProMaster

Ram has updated its ProMaster Van for the 2022 model year. The transit van has served as a utility vehicle carrying supplies, parts, and pieces for several years now. Ram has also utilized the ProMaster van as a traveling vehicle for bands. The transit vehicle offers a lot of versatility and function and now, Ram is making it even better. For the 2022 model year, Ram will be updating the transmission, interior cabin, and infotainment system of the transit van. Ram is hoping the 2022 ProMaster van will trump other transit vehicles like the Ford Transit. From the updates and new interior, it’s looking like the ProMaster will exceed expectations.

2022 Ram ProMaster Receives Updates

Ram will be updating its ProMaster van for the 2022 model year. Although the transit van has proved to be a reliable and comfortable ride for drivers and passengers, Ram is making sure the riding experience sees several new improvements. For this, Ram is updating the 2022 Ram ProMaster van with a new nine-speed automatic transmission, a new interior look, the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, and some new safety features.

The 2022 Ram ProMaster van will use the same 3.6L V6 engine as the 2021 Ram ProMaster. Currently, the engine is capable of an impressive 280 horsepower and 352lb-ft of torque. With the addition of a new nine-speed automatic transmission, however, it will be much more efficient. Ram will be replacing the previous transmission with a TorqueFlite transmission which will deliver a better final-drive ratio. This will increase performance and pack a little more punch. Along with the new transmission is the addition of a push to start engine function. This comes alongside a push-button electric parking brake. One more helpful feature being added to the transit van is an electric rack and pinion power steering. This will improve fuel economy and aid steering assistance.

The 2022 Ram ProMaster van will also be getting a new interior look. The transit vehicle has a modern and stylish look that’s enhanced by sleek panels and digitized buttons. Leather-trimmed material and black two-tone color also add to the stylish look. For space, Ram will be offering a two-row crew van package that lets three people sit up front. This sets the ProMaster apart from other cargo vans as this additional space provides a lot more comfort for drivers and passengers. For entertainment, Ram ProMaster drivers can utilize the new Uconnect 5 system. A 10-inch touchscreen provides access to smartphone connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and driver-assist features.

The last bit of updates to the 2022 Ram ProMaster van are new driver-assist and safety features. These consist of cornering function, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, front parking sensors, lane-keep assist, and a rear camera. These features provide drivers with the assurance that they are safe and secure on the road. Another advanced driver-assist feature is active driving assist which includes level 2 automated driving capability. This uses adaptive cruise control and can even manage the throttle and brakes. Drivers will also have access to a 360-degree side view camera that will help with blind spots. A release date for the 2022 Ram ProMaster van has not yet been confirmed, but the newly updated ProMaster van looks to be a very viable and comfortable transit vehicle, so much so that it seems other transit vehicles may have to look toward the ProMaster van for inspiration.

2022 Ram ProMaster Van Receives New Transmission and Technology

Thursday, September 2nd, 2021

Ram is bringing music to fans around the country with the return of the Ram BandVan. Ram first launched its BandVan program back in 2018 as a way to help up-and-coming artists and bands by supplying them with a ProMaster van. The automaker partnered with SiriusXM and Pandora to give fans an opportunity to hear their favorite bands live as they toured in the full-sized van. The Back to Live Tour will be launching with the Foo Fighters heading the first act. They will be traveling inside the 2022 Ram ProMaster Van which Ram has recently updated. The van features a new transmission and updated technology and safety features. Artists will be able to enjoy the comfortable and tuned-up BandVan as they travel the country touring.

New Technology Inside the ProMaster Van

The 2022 Ram ProMaster Van has gotten a new interior upgrade. Ram has updated the transmission, infotainment system, and safety features. Each van is powered by a transverse-mounted 3.6L V6 engine capable of 280 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque. The addition of a new nine-speed automatic transmission has allowed the front wheels to be utilized more. Ram has stated that this new automatic transmission will help improve fuel efficiency and deliver smoother gear changes.

Aside from the transmission, Ram has upgraded the interior cabin of the 2022 ProMaster Van. The van’s center stack has been redesigned with a new 7.0-inch touchscreen. An optional 10-inch touchscreen is also available. The touchscreen systems feature Uconnect5 software which enables over-the-air updates. It also enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Amazon Alexa voice assist. Additional upgrades include more charging ports, two USB and USB Type-C ports, and a 115-volt outlet. The 2022 Ram ProMaster Van also includes a revised center stack that features HVAC controls that replace older rotary knobs. A new panel of switches replaces hazard lights, traction control, and more. The steering wheel comes with more controls and the driver has a more modern instrument panel.

The last change to the 2022 ProMaster Van is a multitude of driver and safety assist technologies. The previous year’s model introduced new active safety features like automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. Now, the full-sized van has a 360-degree camera, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, front parking sensors, and lane-keeping assist. Bands and artists can rest easy knowing they’re safe on the road in the Ram BandVan. Ram hasn’t announced pricing for the 2022 ProMaster Van yet, but prices aren’t likely to be too much higher from previous years. The full-sized commercial van will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Ram Band Van

Ram is getting ready to relaunch its Ram BandVan program. Due to the global pandemic, most things have had to be canceled or postponed. Ram first initiated its BandVan program back in 2018 as a way to help emerging bands by providing them with a ProMaster BandVan. At the time, Ram partnered with SiriusXM and Pandora to give fans an opportunity to hear their favorite bands live. Ram had become the first automaker to offer SiriusXM with 360L and it was also the first to feature personalized stations powered by Pandora. This fall, look out for the Ram BandVan as it crosses state lines bringing music everywhere it goes.

Ram is Hitting the Road

Ram is launching its Ram BandVan once again. The first group to be featured in the Back to Live Tour will be the Foo Fighters. They will be joined by Radkey. In addition to the Foo Fighters and Radkey, Ram will be supporting at least five other emerging artists. New content will be viewable at RamBandVan.com and on social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The punk band Radkey will be the first act of the year. Speaking about the tour Radkey said,

“This has been a year like no other, and now to finally be back on the road rocking with fans in real life, is an incredible feeling,” said Radkey. “We are so thankful to Ram Truck, SiriusXM, and Pandora for our Ram BandVan, enabling us and fellow musicians alike to hit the road running and tour once again.”

Ram will be providing the touring artists with the ProMaster Ram BandVan. It will be equipped with SiriusXM so that the artists themselves can also enjoy a variety of ad-free music. Along with music, artists will be able to enjoy sports, talk, comedy, and other radio genres. The Back to Live Tour will use Ram’s recent ad campaign “Spotlight” with Dave Grohl as well as a feature-film documentary called “What Drives Us,” to start the musical journey off. Ram is excited to offer fans a return to normalcy. The automaker is also excited to help artists get on their feet and reconnect with their fans. As the vice president of Stellantis Marissa Hunter said,

“Our Ram BandVan program first launched in 2018 and we are thrilled to activate the next phase of the initiative to help support musicians doing what they love and bringing their fans the performances that they have missed,” said North America Stellantis Vice President Marissa Hunter. “As the brand that is ‘Built to Serve,’ we share mutual values of hard work and dedication with these talented artists, and it is our pleasure to provide them reliable, comfortable, and spacious ProMaster vans, supporting their careers and helping them to reconnect with friends and fans across the country.”

Florida Auto Shop Builds Monstrous Ram 1500 TRX 6×6 Pickup

Thursday, August 19th, 2021

Florida has always been known for its antics. Whether it’s the infamous ‘Florida Man,’ some exotic reptile escaping, or the creation of something nobody ever knew was needed. Thanks to Apocalypse Manufacturing, we’ve been graced with the third option. The creation of a monstrous pickup truck has been seen with a glint in the eyes of many young children. Those who grow up and still hold fast to the idea continue to envision such a beast. It seems one of those adults finally got their way. The beastly pickup comes to us in the form of the Warlord. This beast of a pickup is a Ram 1500 TRX with one heck of an upgrade. The Warlord as it’s known features an additional axle that supplies it with two extra wheels. The 6×6 pickup doesn’t seem too odd for Florida though. Rather, it is likely the huge Ram pickup was built specifically for the Sunshine State.

The 6×6 Ram 1500 TRX Dubbed Warlord

So, it seems Apocalypse Manufacturing did what most monster truck fans wish they could do. The Florida-based auto shop built a vehicle that is seemingly unstoppable. They decided to take the already powerful 700 horsepower Ram 1500 TRX and give it another huge upgrade. The addition of two wheels and the sheer size of the pickup display a dominating aura. Indeed, this monstrous pickup does leave quite an image. One can imagine it barreling down the interstate as other Floridians simply stare in awe.

What is most impressive about the Warlord is that the Florida auto shop managed to keep a general stock look for the pickup. It’s as if Ram themselves built the powerful beast. The price tag tells us something different, however. For an entry-level Ram 1500 TRX, consumers are looking at a hefty $72,120 MSRP (plus destination fee). This Hellcat-powered pickup, on the other hand, costs a clean $250,000. Oof.

The price tag isn’t entirely surprising though. To construct such a monster of a pickup, a lot of resources and money are required. For those critics, we have to agree that it doesn’t seem too feasible to be grocery shopping in this beast. But just the fact that it exists lends itself to Apocalypse Manufacturing’s vision and the child-at-heart spirit that spurs ingenuity. This custom pickup truck has certainly earned its spot among the crazy inventions of Florida. In fact, it really does represent the creative yet wild energy that makes Florida, Florida. A quick word to the wise, make sure to get out of the way when you see this beast in the rearview.
