Ram to Release ‘Built to Serve’ Trucks, Inspired by First Responders

Friday, February 25th, 2022

Ram will be launching the second phase of its ‘Built to Serve’ pickup truck lineup. Inspired by first responders, these trucks will honor those who put their lives on the line to save and rescue others. First responders like police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel will be honored with this new lineup of pickups. They will come custom-made with exterior cues, interior upholstery, and profession-aiding features that all honor first responders. The Ram 1500 has served as a powerful and fully capable pickup capable of getting almost any job done. Now Ram will use its powerful pickup to help out those who give so much. We’ll dive in and see what first responders can expect from these pickups, but this is great recognition on Ram’s part.

Ram ‘Built to Serve’ Lineup Announced

Ram will be rolling out its all-new ‘Built to Serve’ lineup inspired by first responders. The pickup trucks will consist of materials and features that aid first responders like police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. Ram has decided to honor those individuals who are always giving to others. These trucks will recognize their hard work and sacrifice to keep the general public safe and protected. About the new ‘Built to Serve’ lineup, Ram brand CEO Mike Koval Jr. said,

“After honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with our initial Built to Serve models, we felt it would be equally important to also extend our gratitude to all first responders who serve or have served our communities,” said Mike Koval Jr. “Whether a first responder or civilian, Ram truck owners are very familiar with this adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce.”

Each truck in the ‘Built to Serve’ lineup will consist of a specialized trim geared toward the corresponding first responder department. They will come equipped with unique low-volume exterior paint colors that represent the MO and history of the pertaining department. The firefighter-inspired Ram 1500 Built to Serve edition will come available in Redline and Diamond Black exterior colors with a black interior and orange accent stitching.

‘Built to Serve’ Interior

Ram’s Built to Serve lineup will consist of unique exterior and interior features that represent each individual first responder department. The Ram 1500 Built to Serve trucks will feature a United States flag and a Built to Serve decal on each of the rear quarter panels. The truck’s exterior will also consist of an all-black grille with black bumpers, black-bezel premium lightning, and 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique Technical Gray finish.

Inside the Built to Serve trucks, first responders will note unique color stitching that matches the pertaining emergency service. The first installment will feature orange accent stitching but the following will match the particular department. The trucks will also feature Built to Serve-embroidered velcro panels on the front seats. There’s also velcro on the front seat inboard shoulder panel. This is for patches, tapes, and any special memorabilia special to the corresponding first responders. The front seat-back panels will also be covered with Pouch Attachment Laddy System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment webbing to allow for special equipment.

Ram’s ‘Built to Serve’ lineup will start at an MSRP of $46,625 (plus destination fee). The first installment will be the firefighter-inspired Ram 1500. These Built to Serve trucks will honor the three main emergency services for all their work. They will recognize and honor police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical service providers.

Ram EV Sees Adjustments Ahead of 2024 Debut

Friday, January 21st, 2022

Ram has made strides with its iconic pickups. The Ram 1500 has earned its fair share of awards and accolades like the best light-duty pickup of 2021. The Ram 1500 TRX has also earned accolades like being the Texas Truck of the Year. With many automakers turning toward EVs and hybrids, Ram is considering jumping into the EV sector as well. The automaker had previously announced plans for its own EV pickup. Now it seems that vision will become a reality. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke about the company’s plans for the Ram EV. According to Tavares, the electric pickup will continue to be modified and improved as the company sees fit. With a 2024 launch date, the automaker still has time to improve its EV pickup. One downside to this extra time, however, is that consumers may remain loyal to another EV pickup and they may not consider the Ram EV. Only time will tell. For now, let’s dive into the upcoming Ram EV.

Ram EV On the Way?

Ram has been sitting cozy lately. The automaker’s pickup trucks have been recognized as some of the best available given their performance and capability. Unfortunately, there comes a time when things switch up and those who were on top must conform, or risk losing their spot. This seems to be the case with the new generation of vehicles as many automakers have been turning toward EVs and hybrids. This shift in the auto industry is primarily due to the ongoing global climate crisis. Governments around the globe have acknowledged this persistent threat and, as such, many have started enacting policies and legislation to help reduce carbon emissions. This brings us to Ram and their EV pickup which they teased over a year ago.

The Ram EV is slated for a 2024 release. Stellantis’ CEO Carlos Tavares recently spoke with the financial group Morgan Stanley about the potential features and specs of the all-new all-electric pickup. Tavares stated that his company is gauging consumer interest based on their competitors’ EVs to determine the proper course of their own EV. This is a smart move. Stellantis and Ram can prepare the ultimate EV pickup based on what they feel is most important to consumers. About the company’s decisions, Taveres said,

“We are preparing the EV pickup trucks for 2024, and we are doing it by adjusting the specs and adjusting the performance in function of what we see coming up from our competitors,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. “It’s a fact that we are coming slightly after them. But it’s also a fact that we have the opportunity to adjust the competitiveness and the appeal of our own trucks to what they are doing, which is a competitive game, which is a fantastic situation for the consumer because the real winner of this competition is the consumer.”

When they last spoke about the Ram EV, Ram had said that the mile range would be around 500 miles. This is a huge leap as Ford’s F-150 Lightning currently gets 300 miles of battery range, and Chevy just announced that their Silverado EV will get 400 miles of battery range. If Ram has the capability, and we’re sure they do, consumers will receive the ultimate Ram EV pickup. They just have to wait patiently until 2024.

Mopar Teases Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner and Outdoorsman Concepts

Friday, November 5th, 2021

Ram is getting two new concept vehicles courtesy of Mopar. The Stellantis parts, service, and customer care division prepared several vehicles for the 2021 Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. Hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2021 SEMA Show brings manufacturers and buyers from different segments of the automotive industry together to share new parts, accessories, and concept vehicles. The Ram 1500 has done exceptionally well in recent years. The pickup has been highly rated by the Texas Motor Press Association as the Texas Truck of the Year and it has also been awarded the Light-Duty Pickup of the Year in a recent 2021 APEAL study. Now the iconic Ram pickup will be getting two new concepts, the Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner and the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. We’ll dive into the concept trucks and see what Mopar has to offer for fans of the rough and tough pickup.

Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner

Mopar presented the Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner as one of its concept vehicles at the 2021 SEMA Show. The RexRunner is based on the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX but this pickup gets even more capability and durability. The RexRunner pickup comes equipped with a standard 6.2L Hemi V8 that’s capable of 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The truck features 18×9-inch Black Rhino Chamber wheels wrapped in 37-inch Goodyear tires. These give off a race-inspired look which is further complemented by Ash Gray paint and Mopar Blue accents.

The Ram RexRunner also features a RamBar and a pair of 14-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights. A Mopar bed extender that flips inward helps secure tools and a bed liner protects cargo. Enhancing the rough and rugged look of the pickup are custom skid plates with Mopar lettering that protect the truck’s underside. These increase the approach angle up to 32.5 degrees while Mopar rock rails protect the side sills. The pickup also gets a custom black flip-top fuel-filler door that accentuates the truck’s toughness. Final additions to the RexRunner concept include 5-inch Mopar exhausts in the rear as well as a Mopar bed step with an articulating arm for easy access to the truck bed.

Ram 1500 Outdoorsman

For the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman concept pickup, Mopar used the Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4 as a base model. The idea around the Outdoorsman concept was that it was to be made for those hard-working consumers that also want an everyday truck. The Ram 1500 Outdoorsman comes with a painted black gloss and custom Mopar blue graphics. Designed for hard work and harder play, the truck comes with a two-height position aluminum Mopar bed rack system that goes the full width of the truck bed. This rack system can hold ladders, plywood, whatever the owner needs. Mounted on the floor of the bed are modified Expertec bed-slides capable of holding 2,000 pounds. These make unloading tools, gear, and equipment much easier. Bed rails are also attached to the inside of the walls of the bed. These come with adjustable cleats that slide to secure loads of all sizes.

The Ram 1500 Outdoorsman comes equipped with all a handyman needs. The pickup features a custom Mopar RamGate workbench on the inside panel of the tailgate. It features conversion charts, an angle finder, and a T-track mounting system that adds additional room for cutting wood, tuning bikes, or sharpening tools. The pickup rides on a 2-inch lift kit with Fox shocks and split six-spoke 20×9-inch Black Rhino wheels wrapped in 35-inch Continental tires. Inside the pickup, owners will note a custom deployable work surface that slides out from the center armrest. It provides 12×14 inches of extra workspace.

Ram fans are getting two new concept pickups. The RexRunner is a sportier version of the iconic pickup while the Outdoorsman takes outdoor work to another level. These two pickups are still concepts but from what we’ve seen so far, they’re two trucks that Ram owners are sure to love.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX Receives Top Honor as Texas Truck of the Year

Friday, October 29th, 2021

The Ram 1500 is once again in the spotlight as it takes yet another award. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was recently awarded the top honor of Texas Truck of the Year. The pickup was also awarded High-Performance Truck of the Year. These accolades all come soon after the Ram 1500 won first place in the 2021 APEAL study. Here the pickup was designated as the best light-duty pickup based on consumer sentiment and feedback. Truly the Ram 1500 is leagues ahead of the competition. The newest accolades for the pickup come from the Texas Motor Press Association Off-Road Invitational which focuses on bringing automotive industry professionals together to highlight different aspects of the industry. The audience is primarily Texas-based but the membership is made up of automotive journalists who cover a range of vehicles from cars, trucks, and SUVs to ATVs and UTVs. They are all knowledgeable and share key insights into the leading vehicles of the automotive industry. In 2021 they recognized the Ram 1500 for its versatility, capability, and overall high performance as a pickup that can get the job done.

Ram 1500 TRX Recognized as Texas Truck of the Year

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was recently recognized as the Texas Truck of the Year and the High-Performance Truck of the Year. These accolades come from the 2021 Texas Motor Press Association event that recognizes the best vehicles in the industry. Ram has done a superb job with their Ram 1500. The pickup has served consumers as a powerful and durable vehicle that can handle any job. Towing, hauling, and getting to the destination is what a pickup is about. The Ram does all that and more with the latest technology and safety features. About the Ram 1500, the president of the Texas Motor Press Association Bryan Grant said,

“The challenging off-road trails were no problem for Ram 1500 TRX as it easily trekked over the roads with massive horsepower, multiple drive modes and lofty ground clearance. It was so much fun to experience the truck conquer the trails. We all took notice of the wild animal roar exhaust note off in the distance,” said Bryan Grant, the president of Texas Motor Press Association.

Bryan Grant, President of Texas Motor Press Association

Given the Ram 1500’s capabilities, many recognize it as an industry-standard pickup truck. The Ram truck brand was first started in 2009. It began as a stand-alone division focused on meeting the needs and demands of truck buyers. The brand has grown exponentially over the years as it has expanded its lineup with vehicles like the Ram 1500, Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, and 3500/4500/5500 series Chassis Cabs. The brand also offers its ProMaster vans which allow groups to travel together with their equipment. Overall Ram has stayed true to its mission of building trucks that get hard work done and take families where they need to go.

Ram will continue to build on its lineup as it offers higher performance, greater convenience, and lasting durability. The automaker has racked up award after award each year. As the years go by, people will continue to depend on a strong pickup. With their new Know and Go mobile app, Ram is aiming to increase customer satisfaction and deliver more immersive experiences. We’ll have to see where the automaker goes from here, but right now it looks like its lead is stronger than ever.

Mopar Teases Potential New Ram Concept at 2021 SEMA Show

Thursday, October 14th, 2021

Ram has been making headlines with its Ram 1500 pickup. The pickup truck was recently awarded first place among light-duty pickups in a 2021 APEAL study. The pickup’s versatility, capability, and high performance have made it a top pick for pickup fans. Now for the 2022 model year, the Ram 1500 is once again generating excitement. It looks like Ram will be providing consumers with another Ram 1500 variant based on several teaser images revealed at the 2021 SEMA show. Each year the Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) hosts the show, but it was canceled in 2020 due to Covid-19. This year the 2021 show will run November 2-5 in Las Vegas. It’s here where Mopar Performance will hopefully provide more information about their teaser images. Mopar works under the Stellantis umbrella so although it showcased Ram vehicles, it also showed off some cool Jeep concept images. We’re focusing on the Ram concept images however as they look to point toward either a special heavy-duty edition Ram 1500, or a more powerful variant, though the Ram 1500 TRX is a beast of a pickup already.

2021 SEMA Show Debuts Two Ram Concept Images

Mopar Performance will be showcasing several vehicle concept images at the 2021 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Three of these images depict a Jeep while the other two images showcase a Ram. Not much information can be discerned from the images as they’re taken in low lighting. The vehicles are also shown at side and rear angles which heightens their allure. In one of the first sketch images of the Ram pickup, the grille design and vent on the headlight can be seen. The Ram in question looks to be a 702 horsepower Hellcat-powered TRX. It’s unclear what Ram will improve or adjust for this new TRX, but the image shows blue-painted tow hooks and new badging. Perhaps Ram will improve off-road features and capabilities.

The second teaser image of the Ram 1500 pickup shows a rear backshot. The pickup is parked next to a tent and there looks to be a storage rack in the truck bed. The typical TRX text which is usually emblazoned on the rear fender is missing so it’s uncertain if this is a TRX trim. With teaser images, half the fun is guessing what new features or elements automakers will make. Given all the dirt being kicked up and the rear shot of what looks like a camp outing, the new Ram 1500 may be granted even more off-road capability. The nature of the SEMA show is to highlight new accessories and parts for Jeep and Ram vehicles, so not much should be expected. Still, pickup fans should pay close attention as there may be new concept images released. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Ram will have something special to debut in the months to come.

Ram Unveils Ram 1500 TRX Ignition, Longhorn SouthFork, and Ram 1500 (RAM)RED

Thursday, September 30th, 2021

Ram has done exceedingly well with its Ram 1500, so much so that the pickup ranked first in 2021’s APEAL study. The 2021 Ram 1500 was found to be most favorable among light-duty pickups. It’s no wonder the Ram 1500 pickup has found so much success given its capability and powerful performance. Ram has been steadily releasing new trims and package upgrades for the pickup like the Ram Back Country. Others include the Ram Laramie/Rebel G/T package upgrades which boost performance even further. These all provide the Ram 1500 with new features both inside and outside. Now Ram is once again releasing several new trims for the iconic Ram 1500. At the 2021 State Fair of Texas, Ram unveiled three new vehicles: the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition, the 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork, and the 2022 Ram 1500 (RAM) Red.

2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition

One of the three trims Ram unveiled at the 2021 State Fair of Texas was the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition. This new Ram trim takes the TRX trim to a higher level as it boosts performance and features greater personalization. New features will consist of technology, a new exterior, and graphics. Only 875 units will be available so TRX fans will have to make sure to reserve theirs. The Ram 1500 TRX Ignition will lean toward luxury with its unique ignition exterior, 18-inch black wheels, panoramic sunroof, spray-in bed liner, and LED cab-mounted brake light. Inside the pickup, owners will note Copperhead Orange stitching as well as an embroidered TRX logo. Copper carbon fiber accents, a head-up display, a TRX custom driver’s screen, and an orange center console badge will also be included.

The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX will come equipped with a high-performance 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 engine. The new pickup will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021 and will start at an MSRP of $91,585 (plus destination fee).

2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork

The second Ram 1500 to debut was the 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork. This pickup will replace the Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary edition. It will improve upon the previous iteration by adding more comfort and luxury. The pickup will still lean toward heavy-duty hauling and the moving of cargo. As such it will include a multi-function tailgate, deployable bed step, spray-in bed liner, and Falken all-terrain tires. Adjustable cargo tie-down hooks, LED box lighting, and a cargo divider will also be included. Inside the Longhorn, owners will note an exclusive Mountain Brown interior color with bucket seats and suede door bolsters. The 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork will also go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021. It will start at an MSRP of $61,620 (plus the destination fee).

2022 Ram 1500 (RAM) Red

The last pickup to be revealed by Ram was the 2022 Ram 1500 (RAM) Red. This pickup is more of a novelty as it was produced to help aid a commitment to health emergencies. The Ram 1500 RAM Red edition will represent the Global Fund coalition which is made up of Ram, Jeep, and FIAT. This coalition has pledged at least $4 million to help fight health emergencies. The new Ram 1500 Ram Red edition comes available with limited crew cab configurations. Owners will have the choice of a V8 engine or EcoDiesel engine. The pickup will feature a red RAM grille and door badging. A RED badge will also be displayed on the center console lid. This pickup will also be available in the fourth quarter of 2021. It will start at an MSRP of $63,250 (plus destination fee).

2021 Ram 1500 Ranks First Among Light-Duty Pickups in New APEAL Study

Friday, September 24th, 2021
Ram 1500 TRX

Ram has earned yet another accolade for its Ram 1500 pickup. According to the J.D. Power 2021 Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) study, the 2021 Ram 1500 ranked first among light-duty pickups. This APEAL study uses consumer sentiment and feedback to gauge which vehicle is more favorable. Overall, the Dodge brand managed to rank first, the second year in a row. For Ram, the automaker took second place, also for the second year in a row. 2021 has been a great year for both automakers. Ram has seen much success with its Ram 1500 with several package options and trims being released like the 2022 Ram 1500 Backcountry. With consumer satisfaction at its highest, the automaker looks to continue to enjoy its success.

Ram 1500 Ranks First Among Pickups

According to the 2021 APEAL study, the 2021 Ram 1500 ranked first among light-duty pickups. The high-performing pickup has dominated markets for a while now. In 2020 the pickup earned the same first-place ranking, thus solidifying it as an optimal pickup truck. The APEAL study gauges consumer satisfaction by looking at feedback during the first three months of ownership. Vehicle attributes like seating comfort, throttle response, and other key characteristics make up a score based on a 1,000 point scale. About their market success, the Stellantis Head of Customer Experience North America Mark Champine said,

“I said last year that we would keep the throttle wide open, and these various results demonstrate our continuing resolve to do so,” said Mark Champine. “We remain on a mission to do better for our customers, and we know we have more work to do.”

Mark Champine, Stellantis Head of Customer Experience North America

The APEAL study aggregates all the characteristics of each nominated vehicle and gives each a score out of 1,000. For the 2021 Ram 1500, the APEAL score totaled 881. This score was 10 points higher than the 2020 APEAL study which means Ram has managed to raise and solidify the Ram 1500’s status as a great pickup to own. Along with the APEAL score, Ram as a brand managed to place second within the automotive industry. This was a step up from last year as the automaker had placed third among mass markets brands.

The 2021 Ram 1500 has earned Ram a spot among the best automotive companies. The tough pickup managed to raise the automaker to the highest echelons with its high performance, tough durability, and iconic look. The Ram 1500 will continue to play a dominating role within the pickup truck sphere. As automakers move toward electric vehicles, we’ll have to see how consumer satisfaction and sentiment react to changes. It seems automakers have been split between moving toward new innovations like with Tesla’s Cybertruck and keeping to traditional aspects like with Ford’s F-150 Lightning. Either way, the consumers will have the power to choose. We will be looking forward to the 2022 APEAL study and its findings.

Florida Auto Shop Builds Monstrous Ram 1500 TRX 6×6 Pickup

Thursday, August 19th, 2021

Florida has always been known for its antics. Whether it’s the infamous ‘Florida Man,’ some exotic reptile escaping, or the creation of something nobody ever knew was needed. Thanks to Apocalypse Manufacturing, we’ve been graced with the third option. The creation of a monstrous pickup truck has been seen with a glint in the eyes of many young children. Those who grow up and still hold fast to the idea continue to envision such a beast. It seems one of those adults finally got their way. The beastly pickup comes to us in the form of the Warlord. This beast of a pickup is a Ram 1500 TRX with one heck of an upgrade. The Warlord as it’s known features an additional axle that supplies it with two extra wheels. The 6×6 pickup doesn’t seem too odd for Florida though. Rather, it is likely the huge Ram pickup was built specifically for the Sunshine State.

The 6×6 Ram 1500 TRX Dubbed Warlord

So, it seems Apocalypse Manufacturing did what most monster truck fans wish they could do. The Florida-based auto shop built a vehicle that is seemingly unstoppable. They decided to take the already powerful 700 horsepower Ram 1500 TRX and give it another huge upgrade. The addition of two wheels and the sheer size of the pickup display a dominating aura. Indeed, this monstrous pickup does leave quite an image. One can imagine it barreling down the interstate as other Floridians simply stare in awe.

What is most impressive about the Warlord is that the Florida auto shop managed to keep a general stock look for the pickup. It’s as if Ram themselves built the powerful beast. The price tag tells us something different, however. For an entry-level Ram 1500 TRX, consumers are looking at a hefty $72,120 MSRP (plus destination fee). This Hellcat-powered pickup, on the other hand, costs a clean $250,000. Oof.

The price tag isn’t entirely surprising though. To construct such a monster of a pickup, a lot of resources and money are required. For those critics, we have to agree that it doesn’t seem too feasible to be grocery shopping in this beast. But just the fact that it exists lends itself to Apocalypse Manufacturing’s vision and the child-at-heart spirit that spurs ingenuity. This custom pickup truck has certainly earned its spot among the crazy inventions of Florida. In fact, it really does represent the creative yet wild energy that makes Florida, Florida. A quick word to the wise, make sure to get out of the way when you see this beast in the rearview.

A Breakdown of the 2021 Ram 1500’s Towing Capacities

Thursday, August 12th, 2021

Ram has been steadily increasing its presence in the pickup sector with new trim upgrades like the 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie and Rebel G/T and talk of its first all-electric pickup. As the auto industry moves toward electric vehicles, Ram is making sure it remains ahead of the competition both with its powerful pickups and its new innovations. Focusing on Ram’s pickups, we can look at the 2021 Ram 1500 to see what sets it apart from its competitors. One area where the 2021 Ram 1500 shines is with its towing capabilities. Depending on the engine and cab choice, 2021 Ram 1500 owners can reach a towing range between 6,290 pounds and 13,330 pounds.

Minimum Towing Capacity of the 2021 Ram 1500

The 2021 Ram 1500 offers consumers a powerful pickup capable of almost any towing and hauling project. Choices in engine and cab can determine the towing capacity of the pickup. Optional package upgrades can also affect the amount of weight towed. Using base features and selections, the 2021 Ram 1500 can reach a minimum towing capacity of 6,290 pounds.

It should be noted that Ram recommends using a weight-distribution hitch when towing anything greater than 5,000 pounds. With that said, let’s take a look at the powerful 2021 Ram 1500 and how it can manage to tow such impressive amounts of weight.

The 2021 Ram 1500 comes available in several trims: the Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, and the Laramie Longhorn/Limited. Each trim comes with a crew-cab configuration with a 3.21 axle ratio. Additionally, the pickup comes with a 6-ft 4-inch bed, four-wheel drive, and a 3.6L V6 engine. These configurations can be modified and interchanged to increase the towing capacity. Prices for the Tradesman trim starts at $41,000 MSRP (plus destination fee) and $58,000 MSRP (plus destination fee) for the Laramie Longhorn trim.

Maximum Towing Capacity of the 2021 Ram 1500

The maximum towing capacity of the 2021 Ram 1500 is an impressive 13,300 pounds. This feat of towing strength can be reached with a configuration of four-wheel drive with an eTorque V8 engine alongside a quad cab and 6-ft-4 bed configuration. To reach such feats, the Tradesman and Big Horn/Lone Star trims are recommended. They offer the most powerful range for those looking to haul the heaviest of materials.

The second highest towing capacity for the 2021 Ram 1500 is 12,750 pounds and this can be reached with the Tradesman trim. A quad cab configuration with a 6-ft 4-inch bed, two-wheel drive, and a 5.7L Hemi V8 with eTorque. A max tow package can be included which provides 18-by-8-inch wheels, a 3.92:1 axle ratio, and a trailer-tow group. This trailer-tow group includes a class IV receiver hitch, trailer tow mirrors, and a trailer brake controller. Owners can opt for these packages for a more secure and higher-end tow capacity.

Towing capacity depends on the engine of which Ram offers five. Two transmission options are also available. Alongside the engine, the type of drive affects towing range. Four-wheel drive is the most optimal for those looking for higher-end tow ranges. The 2021 Ram 1500 offers consumers a powerful and versatile pickup. For those looking for a pickup that can haul and tow during just about any job, the 2021 Ram 1500 is the right choice.

Perhaps the fact that the Ram 1500 TRX is pumping out 650 lb-ft of torque has something to do with the fact that it’s such an off-road beast, or maybe it’s the fact that it only needs 4.5 seconds to go from 0 -60 mph — regardless, few vehicles on the current market come close to these performance numbers. Here are four things we love about the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.  (more…)
