The 2023 Ram 1500 recently made the list of Car and Driver’s 10Best Trucks and SUVs. This marks the fifth time the Ram 1500 has been selected by Car and Driver, demonstrating its persistent capability and versatility as a light-duty pickup truck. Operating as an automotive magazine, Car and Driver helps consumers by researching and reviewing different vehicles across various segments. In determining which vehicles have the best value, Car and Driver allows consumers to find the right vehicle for them. While Ram has introduced its first all-electric truck, the Ram 1500 BEV, its combustion engine truck continues to receive praise as one of the most dominating pickup trucks. We’ll look at the 2023 Ram 1500 and see how it continues to be successful.

2023 Ram 1500 Is Once Again A 10Best Truck

The 2023 Ram 1500 was recently selected for Car and Driver’s 10Best Trucks and SUVs list. This marks the fifth time the light-duty pickup truck has been chosen, and it’s no surprise. For years the Ram 1500 has dominated the truck segment with its high capability and versatility. With a starting MSRP of $37,410 (plus destination fee), the 2023 Ram 1500 offers owners an experience beyond the average pickup truck. Unique trims like the TRX offer 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, giving owners an unstoppable truck. The Ram 1500 TRX provides a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds and is designed for high performance and off-road capability.

Aside from solid performance, the 2023 Ram 1500 offers an impressive towing ability. Equipped with a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine, the Ram provides 12,750 pounds of towing capacity. Owners will have no trouble hauling and towing, especially with all the driver-assist features the Ram offers. Features like trailer reverse steering control let drivers steer their trailer where needed. It also enables them to reverse in a straight line. Additional trailering features include a digital rearview mirror with an LCD monitor and a 360-degree surround view camera that lets drivers see what’s around their trailer.  

The 2023 Ram 1500 also offers an impressive interior boasting one of the most excellent cabins in the segment. Owners will note the upscale materials and premium leather surfaces ladened throughout. Naturally, the luxury aspect increases the higher in trim one goes. Still, even without the top-of-the-line trim, the Ram 1500 offers a spacious and comfortable cabin with many cubby storage compartments. There’s also a panoramic sunroof. A 12-inch touchscreen serves as the infotainment system. Safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, and more. All in all, it’s as Car and Driver says, the 2023 Ram 1500 is one of the best pickup trucks available.

2024 Ram 1500 BEV Will Receive Range Extender

The all-new 2024 Ram 1500 BEV will reportedly arrive with a range extender. Ram officially debuted the all-electric pickup truck at the 2023 Consumers Electronic Show. Ram unveiled its highly touted Ram EV, showcasing the concept art and some expected features. Although Ram did not reveal all the details about the all-electric Ram 1500 BEV, it’s expected that the EV pickup truck will redefine the truck segment. It’s also expected to pave the way for Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which aims to reduce global carbon emissions using clean, innovative solutions. For now, we’ll take a closer look at the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV and discuss what a range extender would mean for the EV truck.

Will The 2024 Ram 1500 BEV See A Range Extender?

According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, the Ram 1500 BEV will feature a range extender. For electric vehicles, a range extender typically serves as an internal combustion engine that can recharge the vehicle’s battery on the go. This technology helps owners see additional range both when driving and when towing. As the Ram 1500 BEV is expected to feature powerful towing abilities, Ram will likely ensure it has both the capability and range to get the job done. While details were kept minimal about the all-electric pickup truck, it seems likely that the Ram BEV will see a range extender and some other electric features that will set it apart from the competition. 

As for the Ram 1500 BEV itself, from what was shown, the pickup truck is expected to arrive with an aggressive and elegant design. It will ride on the Stellantis EV platform and feature animated RAM badging on its front fascia. The front will have a fully animated LED fork design with LED lights integrated inside the front bumper flares and the taillamps. The truck’s doors will feature a saloon-style design, and the side view mirrors will be small and compact. The truck will also ride on 35-inch tires and feature a powered multi-function tailgate.

Inside the Ram 1500 BEV, consumers will find a spacious interior with a flexible cabin layout. The dashboard features the same fork design used for the front grille. It also features stitched material as a design element. The Ram EV offers third-row jump seats and a glass roof. For functionality, the center console can be converted to a workstation surface. As for technology, the Ram 1500 BEV features a full two-screen display and a rearview mirror packed with a 360-degree camera. So far, we know the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV will be a highly unique electric pickup truck. While the full details have not been revealed yet, as we move closer to the road-ready version, Ram will continue to provide information about its first all-electric Ram 1500.

The all-new 2024 Ram 1500 BEV has finally arrived. The all-electric pickup truck was revealed at the 2023 Consumers Electronic Show. There, consumers got a firsthand look at Ram’s first EV. While only a concept, the Ram 1500 Battery-electric Vehicle set the foundation for the all-electric Ram truck. According to Ram, the Ram 1500 BEV will pave the way for its Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan. It will also redefine the pickup truck segment by offering an all-new customer experience integrated with advanced technology. After months of waiting, Ram is excited to share its revolutionary pickup truck. As such, we’ll take a closer look at the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV and see what consumers can expect.

2024 Ram 1500 BEV Revealed

Ram recently unveiled the all-new 2024 Ram 1500 Battery-electric vehicle (BEV) at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Ram showcased the concept design and highlighted some of the capabilities the Ram 1500 BEV is expected to arrive with. Riding on the Stellantis EV platform, the truck features an ultra-modern concept with an aggressive but elegant design. The Ram 1500 BEV has animated RAM badging on its front fascia and a fully animated LED fork design. The LED lights come integrated inside the front bumper flares and the taillamps. The truck’s doors are designed with a saloon-style opening, and the side view mirrors are smaller and more lightweight. About the Ram 1500 BEV, Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said,

“The Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is our clearest signal yet that we’re on the precipice of something extraordinary at Ram and points directly to where we’re going on our electrified journey,” said Mike Koval Jr. “At Ram, we’ve redefined what pickup trucks can be, and we will do so again by pushing past what competitors are offering by delivering the best electric pickups on the market.”

The all-new Ram 1500 BEV rides on 35-inch tires and features a powered multi-function tailgate, powered side steps, and a charge-port door on the driver’s side. Owners will note the spacious interior inside the electric pickup truck, which is owed to the truck’s longer cabin length and dual-motor setup. Owners offering a flexible cabin layout will note the fork design dashboard and stitched material upholstery. The truck provides third-row jump seats that can be removed for additional space and a glass roof for ambient lighting. The center console can also be converted to a workstation surface. 

For technology, the Ram 1500 BEV features a full two-screen display. Owners will have 28 inches of screen space as their centerpieces. They can move the lower display and shift the upper screen using the unique Ram track rail attachment system. The electric truck offers a rearview mirror packed with a 360-degree camera and speakers for safety. A 360-degree view is also available when reversing. Additional features include a personal vehicle assistant, an augmented reality heads-up display, and Level 3 autonomous capabilities. With so many features and capabilities, the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV will prove a troublesome competitor to other automakers who have already released an electric truck.

All-Electric Ram Pickup Dubbed Ram 1500 REV

A new trademark filing was recently discovered indicating that the all-new Ram EV will be called the Ram 1500 REV. The electric pickup truck has been teased for some time, with Ram posting images and spy shots hinting at the truck’s appearance. The automaker has also revealed the truck’s expected performance standards. While we have a potential name, we still need to see the actual concept art for the Ram 1500 REV. Thankfully, this information and more will be revealed at the January 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It’s here where consumers will get to see the all-electric pickup truck that Ram has been working on. Until then, we’ll take a look at the trademark filings and see what new information has been discovered.

Ram EV Will Be Called Ram 1500 REV

The all-new Ram EV will be called the Ram 1500 REV. This information comes from a recent trademark filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In the filing, the name REV indicates that Ram’s electric pickup truck will carry the three-letter abbreviation. While this differs from what many believed would be the Ram Revolution, Ram REV is a short but effective name for the automaker’s first electric pickup truck.

According to the trademark filing, the application was made on December 23rd, 2022. It was filed under the categories of land vehicles, specifically passenger trucks. Although this may be a straightforward indicator, trademarks are not always absolute. For assured certainty, we would have to wait until the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. There, Stellantis CEO Tavares will discuss Ram’s vision for the future. This vision includes the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategy, which aims to offer innovative, clean, and safe solutions that will help reduce global carbon emissions.

As for the Ram 1500 REV, the pickup truck is expected to offer strong performance and come equipped with a ranger extender. Riding on Stellantis’ EV platform, the EV truck is expected to use between 101 and 118 kWh batteries. The electric pickup is also expected to arrive with up to 500 miles of battery range and offer charging speeds as high as 150 kW. Additionally, shots of a prototype being tested were recently taken, indicating that the Ram EV may feature an independent rear suspension, coil springs, and a new chassis. Piece by piece, we’re getting further information about the Ram REV. It’s only a matter of time before the final product is revealed.
