Tax Creditable Vehicles

Miami Lakes Tax Creditable Vehicles

Tax season comes to an end this weekend. Did you enjoy the tax credit for owning a hybrid or electric vehicle? Wait, you didn’t know about that? Might want to fire up TurboTax and give it another go, because if you bought a vehicle (all electric vehicles and some PHEVs) that qualifies for a federal tax credit, you can subtract that amount from the money you owe the federal government.

Tax Creditable Vehicles

Yes, you read that right. If you bought a hybrid or electric vehicle in 2016, you are eligible for a tax credit. We mentioned back in March the tax credit for hybrid, PHEV, and electric vehicles (EV), and in February we covered a tax deduction for a Ram truck. There are many other vehicles that can save you some money, and Miami Lakes Automall has a few of them available. Take a look at this list:

Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid – $7,500

Kia Optima PHEV – $4,919

Mitsubishi i-Miev – $7,500

Chevrolet Volt – $7,500

Chevrolet Spark -EV  $7,500

Mitsubishi Fuso’s Plans for a Fully Electric Commercial Truck

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi 2017 Fuso Electric Trucks

Mitsubishi has a lot more going on these days now that they have started working with the Nissan family. Interestingly enough, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross that recently debuted didn’t have a single third-party hand in its design – it’s all Mitsubishi. So while Mitsubishi Motors may have a few tricks left in their passenger vehicle division, its other brands are also making some changes. Soon to come to the U.S. are Mitsubishi’s all-electric commercial trucks.

We discussed the many different brands and technologies developed by Mitsubishi last year, and one of those brands, Fuso, makes commercial trucks. Recently, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. announced an upcoming, limited-production line of fully electric trucks that will be made available in the U.S., Japan, and Europe by 2018. Known as the eCanter, it will be the first fully electric plug-in truck produced by a major truck manufacturer.

This isn’t the first time Mitsubishi is introducing an entirely new electric design. In fact, they’ve been researching electric technology since the ‘70s, so it’s nice to see them applying all of that research into a tangible product.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Crossover Throwback

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Well it’s been quite the ride for Mitsubishi Motors in the last few months, and now it seems that there’s no stopping them. Talk about rising from the ashes like a Phoenix – the auto company is starting gear up for the next auto show in Geneva next month. Speaking of the Phoenix and tales of legend, this year we’re going to witness an eclipse or two.

Yes, if you haven’t heard, all of the United States will have a front row seat to witness a solar eclipse on August 21. It’s going to be one of many astronomical events not to miss, but it’s not the only eclipse stealing the show this year. Mitsubishi Motors is going to revive … the Mitsubishi Eclipse, as a crossover!

Maybe Mitsubishi Motors is having a mid-life crisis after their good buddy Nissan bought a controlling interest of the company. Perhaps saying goodbye to the Mitsubishi Lancer, two in the span of a year (last Lancer Evolution sold on eBay), was just too much for them. Is Mitsubishi just trolling us?

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi Outlander Limited Edition

New Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition Added to Lineup

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi Outlander Limited Edition

Make way ladies and gentlemen, for the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition (LE). If the Outlander Sport wasn’t already a winner for Mitsubishi, then the new Outlander Sport LE trim will definitely get the attention of consumers. Already affordable with lots of features shared across trims, how does Mitsubishi plan to make the Outlander Sport better? That’s what we’re here to talk about.

Available in four trims, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport shares many, many features across trims. Aside from the very high-luxury options or an outstanding 9-speaker Rockford-Fosgate sound system, every Outlander Sport trim comes with a lot of extras. Even the engine mechanics are pretty uniform, with the majority of the lineup powered by a 2.4-liter MIVEC DOHC I4 engine, paired with INVEC CVT Sportronic transmission.

Let’s back up a bit, because we just threw a lot of fancy words out there. “MIVEC” is the brand name for Mitsubishi’s own variable valve timing system, a process that controls the air and gas intake/exhaust valves on an engine’s cylinders. This system, no matter the design, always attempts to optimize a vehicle’s performance and fuel efficiency.

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi 2017 Outlander Cargo Space

How the Mitsubishi Outlander Might Surprise You

Miami Lakes Mitsubishi 2017 Outlander Cargo Space

Mitsubishi Motors has had its ups and downs and recently they partnered up with Nissan. However, the two companies have clearly stated they’re still in competition with one another, so it’s clear that Mitsubishi is going to stay strong.  Currently, Mitsubishi is celebrating their 100-year anniversary and their strongest vehicle is the official face of Mitsubishi – the Mitsubishi Outlander.

Yep, it’s been 100 years. The first Mitsubishi Model-A was put into mass-production in Japan in 1917. When the company launched the Outlander in 2001, Mitsubishi didn’t just want the Outlander to blend in with their other models, so they made it the face of Mitsubishi  Motors. If you go to mitsubishicars.com, the first slide you’ll see is the announcement of their anniversary with the Model-A and the Outlander side-by-side. Not only that, but with the recent shut down of the Lancer, Mitsubishi has decided to focus on its SUVs and crossovers, like the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander and 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

So aside from being the new face of Mitsubishi, what are some other things the Outlander has going for it? How about its ability to live up to its name “Sports Utility Vehicle”? One would think it has a lot of cargo space, right?

Miami Lakes Say Goodbye Mitsubishi Lancer

Say “Sayonara” to the Mitsubishi Lancer as Mitsubishi Motors Prepares for New Models

Miami Lakes Sayonara Mitsubishi Lancer

Hello darkness, my old friend…oh it’s a sad shame, it is. With so many possibilities afoot when Mitsubishi joined up with Nissan-Renault, talk of the Lancer was one of the first changes to pop up. Now, Mitsubishi Motors says that 2017 will be the last model year that the Lancer will be produced. What will happen now?

The merge between Nissan and Mitsubishi in late 2016 was and will still be a mutually beneficial relationship between the two companies. There was talk about the Lancer being placed on Nissan’s CMF platform to easily share components between Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi. Whether or not that concept will return under a new name is unknown, so for now, the Lancer is being laid to rest.

Miami Lakes Cross Brand EV Nissan Mitsubishi

New Cross-Brand EV Platform from Nissan-Mitsubishi

Miami Lakes Cross Brand EV Nissan Mitsubishi

Not too long ago Nissan bought a large share of Mitsubishi to stop the versatile motor company from going under. It was back in 2016, and although one would think the news would settle like the dust of many company changes (Apple), it doesn’t seem like Nissan or Mitsubishi planned to be quiet for long and they keep presenting us with new concepts, like the new Mitsubishi-Nissan EV.

So the Nissan-Mitsubishi merge is quickly becoming a mutually beneficial partnership. With Nissan having a strong hand in electric vehicle (EV) tech and Mitsubishi knowing how to make a great PHEV, those are some of the first changes we’ll see. Along with a newly designed Lancer, it’s about time, the next vehicle to get a new look may be a brand new i-Miev or something else altogether.

Mitsubishi is More Than Just Motors

It’s always a smart move to be diverse and not put all your eggs in one basket. Everyone does it one way or another, and for a business to be successful, this is a smart practice. Mitsubishi knows this, and they’re actually doing a lot more than just manufacturing cars. Some of the companies Mitsubishi is involved with might surprise you.

Technology

Technology evolves fast; less than 30 years ago the internet wasn’t even a thing! Now we have smartphones and internet access almost anywhere, even in space (seriously, Google it). Did you know Mitsubishi has their hands in some popular tech pockets?

Nikon, the camera company, is a member of the Mitsubishi group of companies. Surprising right? No one could guess by the name alone, but it’s part of the Mitsubishi business group, including its camera equipment and glass.

Space – the Final Frontier. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is involved in more than just SUVs. These guys send satellites into space and even work with ISS support to provide technical feedback and aid.

Overview of Mitsubishi’s 2017 Model Lineup!

2017 Mitsubishi ModelsWhether you like crossovers, sedans, fuel efficient cars, or even electric vehicles, Mitsubishi has upgraded their models for the 2017 model year. So let’s take a quick look at some of the highlights for each Mitsubishi model.

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer

The Mitsubishi Lancer is a classic. Many of the Lancer trims are available with AWC or “all-wheel control” for better handling when on the road. The base trim is powered by a 2.0-liter MIVEC engine, granting it 148 horsepower. MIVEC is Mitsubishi’s patented VVT system, a design implemented for performance and fuel economy. The EPA for the Lancer is 27/34 mpg city/highway, so the proof is in the pudding.

Some of the other standard features are 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, the popular FUSE Hands-Free link system, and a 6.1-inch touchscreen with rearview camera. You’re not going to see many base trim vehicles with a touchscreen and a camera. On the higher end trims, luxury features like leather trim, heated front seats, and premium audio systems are at your fingertips.

The starting MSRP is $17,795 and is backed by the best coverage from Mitsubishi, nearly doubling every other auto brand warranty on the market today.
