First it was the Dodge Charger Pursuit made for Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) looking to get a one up on criminals that think they can outrun the boys in blue. Then came the 2018 Dodge Durango Pursuit immediately followed by the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit. It was only a matter of time before the POs decided to look at other automakers and the fast vehicles they’re producing. Assuming no one wants to beat up a Chevy Corvette, the best choice for a sports car to get a badge is the one and only Kia Stinger.
There is no official name for the fleet of Kia Stinger police cruisers, but when it comes to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in Australia, they surely won’t have any trouble catching up with the bad guys. Although the Kia Stinger GT trims are more powerful, to start, the Queensland Police will be putting 50 units of the 365hp 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 Stinger into service this year alone. Seems police forces around the world are starting to discover the potential of Kia Motors.
There’s no word yet on what kind of modifications one would see on a Kia Stinger police cruiser. It could take some cues from the West Coast Customs modified 2018 Kia Stinger for a power boost and mods for better handling in tough road conditions. It would be wise to grab a few ideas from the current Pursuit vehicles in America, such as special door panels made from high-grade kevlar and able to withstand gunfire from a 44 Magnum and lower, performance-tuned suspension, larger brake rotors, high-performance tires, and the QPS may want to look into a couple of safety add-ons. The 2018 Kia Stinger V6 trims may come with a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and a front and rear park assist system, but for the Dodge police cruisers, these were upgraded to also warn the police officer if someone is approaching the vehicle and then engages safety protocols for maximum security.
The Kia Stinger was the first of many wonderful cars that have recently come from Kia Motors. Dating back to January 2017 when Kia started “The Curve Ahead” promotion, subsequently followed by the 2018 Kia Stinger making its first debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, many were blown away by the new Kia sports car. Since then, the Kia Stinger has been all over the world, making statements and turning heads with its revolutionary looks and performance. Following its late-2017 early-2018 release, the 2018 Kia Stinger has won awards, filmed plenty of promos, and now, a new custom limited edition pops up every month. Check out what’s new today for the Kia Stinger.
First off, let’s do a little recap since the 2018 Kia Stinger was unveiled to the world. Before the Kia Stinger was released, there were many promotions for it popping up. The first was “The Curve Ahead”, but following its debut was the Stinger Runway Racing Challenge during New York Fashion Week in September 2017. During this time, a chunk of New York City was turned into a fully functioning race track to test and display the true power of the Kia Stinger. The drivers behind the wheel were some of the biggest names in fashion, music, sports, and entertainment.
Following its release, award after award was, well, awarded to the 2018 Kia Stinger. AutoGuide.com was judging a selection of cars in early 2018 with the Stinger being one of them. When it came time to survey and test vehicles for their 2018 “Car of the Year” Award, the Kia Stinger not only won the “2018 Car of the Year” award from AutoGuide.com but also the “2018 AutoGuide.com Reader’s Choice Car of the Year Award.” The fancy sports car also went on to win MotorWeek’s 2018 “Best of the Year” award, a “2018 iF Design Award” for its striking and original appearance, and during its stay at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the 2018 Kia Stinger won “Best Production Car of the Year” and the “2018 Shift Award Vehicle of the Year” during the latest award ceremony hosted by Roadshow by CNET.
