Has it already been a year since the birth of the Kia Stinger? Yes, time has quickly passed us by, and now the second model year of the remarkable Kia Stinger is arriving. The latest Kia sports car has added more than its fair share of standard features this time around. Kia has made sure to have their Stinger stand out more than most vehicles of a comparable price. With this luxury sedan reaching new heights, we’re excited to show it off, so let’s get into all the fresh updates.

More Standard Features for the Base Trim

The Base trim provides a turbocharged 2.0-Liter four-cylinder, 255 horsepower engine and upgraded standard features that will put a smile on any driver’s face. Coming standard for the Base trim is blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert that will provide heightened security and peace of mind while driving for owners. Additional features like upgraded 18-inch wheels, formally only placed on the Kia Stinger Premium trim, are now standard. Nicely priced at a low $32,900 MSRP (plus destination fee), a new Sun & Sound package comes for just $3,000 to gain a larger touchscreen (7 inches versus 8 inches) and a premium audio system with an added sunroof and LED headlights.

Looking For High-Performance? The Kia Stinger Has Options

For those that want to gain more than what the Base trim offers, there are four additional trims. The Premium, GT, GT1 and high-end GT2 trim. The high-performance Stinger boasts incredible drivability and speed regardless of trim. Just look at the 0-60 times of the GT trim to other comparable brands. The GT trim can go 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds, faster than brands like BMW and Porsche. (The BMW 440i Gran Coupe hits 4.8 seconds and the Porsche Panamera RWD V6 comes in at 5.4 seconds.) The second powertrain option, outfitted for all GT trims, is the powerful twin-turbo 3.3-Liter V6 365 horsepower engine. Both powertrain options provide high-tech features like launch control and drive mode select.

Exterior Looks Great, But The Real Treat Is Inside

The speed and performance is not the only thing to marvel at as drivers will love the incredible interior that makes each drive highly enjoyable. The Kia Stinger Premium carries the same powertrain as the Base trim but comes with the Harman/Kardon premium sound system standard with all those nice aforementioned safety features added. The sunroof and 8-inch touchscreen are also added with the Premium Stinger trim. Gain leather seating, offered with each trim, and available Nappa leather seat trim upgrades the comfort even further. Nappa leather seating is also standard for the GT2 trim.

Power and heated front seats are standard for all trims as well. Ventilated seats are a part of the Premium trim, with the GT trim gaining a 9-speaker sound system and standard Brembo brakes. Both the GT1 and GT2 Stinger trims have the incredible 15-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system and a wireless phone charger. The cost of the GT and Premium trims start at just $39,100 MSRP (plus destination fee) and the cost of the GT1 trim is $45,100 MSRP (plus destination fee), while the GT2 costs $49,990 MSRP (plus destination fee.)

Regardless of which trim is the one that makes you happiest, there’s not a bad choice among this impressive new 2019 Kia Stinger line-up. All the more reason to come in and see one for yourself at Miami Lakes Automall.

Updates for the Kia Telluride Concept

Friday, April 13th, 2018

Kia-Telluride-concept-suv-miami-lakes-kia

Does everyone remember the Kia Telluride concept? It’s a futuristic looking SUV from the inside and out and it’s the latest Kia concept to get the greenlight for production. Considering the anticipation and initial success of the 2018 Kia Stinger, we’re pretty interested to see how this new SUV by Kia will do. AutoGuide.com named the Kia Stinger as the 2018 Car of the Year, and the publication said it will “… change things for the whole [auto] industry.” Will Kia turn the auto industry upside down again?

Latest News and Rumors

The latest news we’ve received about the Kia Telluride concept is mainly based on rumors, speculation and a lot of hints from Orth Hedrick, VP of Planning and Strategy for Kia Motors America. According to TopSpeed.com, Hedrick is quoted to have hinted at a new crossover vehicle that will join the K900 in Kia Motors’ luxury lineup. Now, that statement in and of itself is pretty solid.

The K900 is by far one of the coolest luxury vehicles out there. We won’t go into too much detail, but if you read our piece on 2019 Kia Sedona Updates, we included some bits about the upcoming 2019 Kia K900. We especially liked the available 12.3-inch Human Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen, 7-speaker Harman Kardon/Lexicon system, and the upgraded interior, designed with a combination of metal veneers, open pore matte wood selections, and soft leather (available in Black, Beige, Espresso Brown, or two-tone Sienna Brown colors).

It all sounds pretty fancy, but what classifies a vehicle as being a “luxury vehicle”? On Wikipedia, the definition of a “Luxury vehicle” is a “ marketing term for a vehicle that provides luxury—pleasant or desirable features beyond strict necessity—at increased expense.” It goes on to say that the term suggests “a vehicle with higher quality equipment, better performance, more precise construction, comfort, higher design, technologically innovative modern, or features that convey an image, brand, status, or prestige …”

Now look at the K900. Hedrick is also quoted calling a K900-based crossover a “natural thing.” If we’re going to go by the above statements and data, then let’s take a look at all the Kia Telluride concept has to offer.

If we were to compare the Telluride with the features offered by the 2019 K900, the interior seems up to par with those of a luxury vehicle. The Telluride concept has leather-trimmed front and second-row seats, and the second-row seats are captain’s chairs versus bucket seats for that sense of “class.” The second-row seats also have foldaway footrests so passengers can put their feet up. Kinda sounds like a Lazy-Boy-themed cabin.

The technology in the Kia Telluride concept is even crazier. The cabin features a wing-shaped, ceiling mounted LED panel that has a Light-Emitted Rejuvenation (LER) therapeutic system. The LER system is made up of hundreds of tiny LED lights and not only do they provide plenty of light, but they can improve passengers’ mood and energy levels.

When it comes to entertainment, the Kia Telluride is said to have a fingerprint-activated push-button start, a Swipe Command touch-sensitive second-row media-control band, and wireless charging. The Swipe Command media-control band is a nifty feature that will give the second-row passengers access to multimedia and a touchscreen of their own – much like the Uconnect Theatre package in the Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans. Oh, and a seven-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system with wireless headphones will be available for quality listening pleasure.

Yeah, we can see how one could call the upcoming Kia Telluride SUV a luxury vehicle. With all these nifty gadgets and luxurious features so far, we can’t wait to see what else will be in store for the Kia Telluride. Said to be available in the next few years, we don’t know when the Telluride will debut, but a previous concept showed up at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, and again in late 2017. Production of the Telluride was given the greenlight in January, so it may be a “sooner than later” sort of thing.

Stay in touch with us on Miami Lakes Kia social media, and we’ll have all the up-to-date information for the Kia Telluride and other Kia models available in our inventory at Miami Lakes Automall.

Kia Soul Sales Record + a Closer Look at the 2018 Kia Soul

Friday, March 9th, 2018

Let the Celebration Begin!

Kia Motors America has proudly announced this week that the Kia Soul, their widely popular boxy looking urban passenger vehicle, has surpassed the one million mark! Over one million Kia Souls have been purchased since inception of this vehicle back in 2009. In less than a decade, literally over a million people have experienced its wonderful and unique design, the beauty of a great product and a comfortable interior ride with a premium powertrain.

Kia Soul Background

From early into the Kia Soul product launch, the marketing showed the car with digital hamsters promoting how cool it was to drive one. And cool it was- over a million times over. While the Kia Soul is known for its colorful exterior design and outrageous advertising campaigns in the past decade, the Kia Soul has become a staple for the brand for more than just flashy ads and a unique cube look.

What’s in a 2018 Kia Soul?

Inside the 2018 Kia Soul, drivers immediately notice its tailored, comfy ride for all. Ventilated driver and passenger seats circulate air and if it’s cold out, the heated front and rear seats are a great way to stay warm. From cloth to available leather seating, there’s something for everyone. The Kia Soul also features a push button start, LED mood lighting and dynamic color changing options, plus a wide panoramic sunroof showcase the beautiful interior.

Smartest and Safest KIA Soul Ever

Kia is proud to give drivers industry leading technology like the driver-assistance technology that provides Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) which works independently of the driver in case the driver is distracted during critical situations, stopping the vehicle and preventing an accident. This works hand and hand with the Forward Collision Warning System that provides a warning message and alert to drivers of a slower or stopped vehicle ahead. If the driver doesn’t apply the brakes, the AEB system should ensure your safety.

Lane Departure Warning System is a camera based system that helps to keep drivers in sync with the lanes of the road they are traveling on because an alert sounds to notify drivers if they are not staying in their lane. The Blind Spot Detection system uses radar-based technology to warn drivers when there’s another vehicle in their blind spot and Rear Cross Traffic Alert lets drivers know if something is in their path when backing up.

What’s the 2018 Kia Performance Like?

We’re glad you asked. The base trim, the 2018 Kia Soul, produces 130 horsepower and it gets 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Pricing begins at $16,200 (plus destination fees). The next trim, the 2018 Kia Soul +, provides drivers with 161 horsepower with 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway and costs $20,400 (plus destination fees). The highest tier trim, the 2018 Kia Soul ! has the strongest engine performance with 201 horsepower and it averages 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

2018 Kia Stinger vs 2018 Porsche Panamera vs BMW 640i

Thursday, February 15th, 2018

2018-Kia-Stinger-Miami-Lakes-Automall

See for yourself what makes the 2018 Kia Stinger such an exciting vehicle, right from inception. Take a closer look at the comparison in the video below between the Kia Stinger GT, the BMW 640i and Porsche Panamera. Testing was done by AMCI Testing, an independent company, and it included four tests (0-60 mph acceleration test, cornering test, a closed-course lap, and the slalom) designed to showcase the unique abilities of these vehicles.

Did you think this would be a fair race between the comparison of a Kia and a Porsche. Yes, yes. Yes, indeed! Most readers would be surprised to know the 2018 Kia Stinger is as fast (yes, it is) reliable (yes, it is.) and stunningly cheaper than the Porsche Paramera. (Yes, of course!)

Price Point

What really makes this competition unique is the price difference between both models. The Kia Stinger and the Porsche Panamera are both performance sportscars, but there’s a huge price difference between the two models. The 2018 Kia Stinger GT with Limited Slip Differential package is $41,250 (plus destination fees) and the 2018 Porsche Panamera with a 3.0-liter V6 engine has a starting MSRP of $89,600, which is more than double the cost of the Kia Stinger!!

Engine

The 2018 Kia Stinger GT produces 365 horsepower with 376-lb-ft of torque with a gusty twin turbo 3.3-liter V6 engine. The 2018 Kia Stinger also has a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine as well. The Porsche Panamera 3.0-liter V6 engine.

Acceleration

The 2018 Kia Stinger has wicked fast speed and gets up 168 MPH, and it accelerates from 0-60 MPH in 4.6 seconds, which was faster than the Porsche Panamera. The Porsche Panamera accelerates from 0-60 mph in more than 5.1 seconds, hitting 192 MPH as a top speed. Remarkable speed and acceleration from the 2018 Kia Stinger to beat the competition.

Corner Steering and Turning Comparison

While the Kia Stinger is faster than the Porsche, it didn’t grip quite as well as the Porsche Panamera during the corner G-Force test, but it performed better than the 2018 BMW 640i Gran Coupe M Sport. Unless you’re traveling at very high speeds while turning, that’s not important enough to make any driver want a Porsche over the 2018 Kia Stinger.

Slalom

Moving through a straight line while curving around cones presented no problem for the Kia Stinger as it was only 0.2 seconds slower than the the time the Porsche Panamera 3.0-liter V6 achieved. Moving fluidly, showing the ultimate response speed that owners of the 2018 Kia Stinger can expect fast performance that’s exactly what makes the ride so exciting.

Closed-Course Lap Performance

In the closed-course lap, the 2018 Kia Stinger was able to showcase that it’s more than just a sporty looking vehicle. In the test, the Stinger proved to be a fast vehicle with impressive speed and performance as it completed the closed-course lap ahead of both the Porsche Panamera and BMW 640i Gran Coupe M Sport with a time of 45.70 seconds. Yeah, that’s right, the Kia Stinger beat the BMW 640i Gran Coupe M Sport in all four tests.

See For Yourself

Has the 2018 Kia Stinger impressed you yet? It has impressed us a great deal. From the low price, the edgy speed and remarkable handling, the Kia Stinger is truly something new and exciting.

Visit us at Miami Lakes Automall to experience the all-new 2018 Kia Stinger for yourself. Our professional staff can’t wait to show off this brand new vehicle to you for a test-drive (we love to ride in this vehicle as much as you will). We’re open seven days a week and every day is a great day to test out this fast-moving, super exciting 2018 Kia Stinger.

New Kia Stinger Named 2018 Shift Vehicle of the Year

Thursday, January 25th, 2018

2018 Stinger GT2 RWD

We’d stop talking about the Kia Stinger, if it stopped giving us things to talk about, but the chatter about the new model hasn’t slowed down yet. Last week, the new Kia Stinger was named the 2018 Shift Award Vehicle of the Year in the latest award ceremony hosted by Roadshow by CNET.

The award was given a year after the Kia Stinger debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2017, and within the last year, the Stinger has received a lot of praise and it also arrived at dealerships like Miami Lakes Automall.

“To return this year with Stinger being recognized by the Roadshow by CNET editors as the 2018 vehicle of the year is a tremendous achievement, and is a testament to the thousands of Kia employees around the world that worked to bring the Stinger to market.” – Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America (KMA)

About the Kia Stinger

The Kia Stinger is a sleek high performance car that is nothing like the other models offered by Kia. The Stinger combines Kia’s efficient, modern and original engineering concepts with a new platform and the result is a fun-to-drive sports car.

The Kia Stinger is available with two engine choices, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 Lambda II engine. Of the two engines, the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 Lambda II engine produces the most horsepower and torque, so that is the better option for those looking for the most bang for their buck. The 3.3L engine produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque and the 2.0L turbocharged engine produces 255 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 3.3L engine gives the Kia Stinger a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds and the 2.0L gives the Kia Stinger a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds.

As a brand that is always trying to offer consumers something new and original, the Stinger is a four-door, five-passenger sleek sports car, so buyers don’t have to sacrifice space for power, nor spend extra money on a five-passenger sports car that are typically only manufactured by luxury brands.

About Kia Motors

Kia has become quite popular in the automotive world in the last few years. Two years ago (2016), the Kia brand was named Highest in Initial Quality in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study and last year (2017), Kia earned the title again. Additionally, five Kia vehicles were named Highest in Initial Quality in their class and a number of Kia models are consistently named I.I.H.S. Top Safety Picks.

With more than just a knack at producing practical and high-quality cars, Kia has been expanding their model lineup in the last few years. In addition to the new Kia Stinger, Kia has added two fuel efficient variations to the Kia Optima lineup, the Optima Hybrid and Optima Plug-In Hybrid, and the brand has also released the new Kia Niro, and a PHEV variant of the Niro will be available in the near future.

Want to give the Kia Stinger or any Kia model a closer look? Miami Lakes Kia is located in Miami Lakes between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Miami Lakes Kia has a huge selection of Kia makes, models and trims and we are open seven days a week, so it is easy to find to come in and test drive any of the Kia models we have available on the lot.

Kia Optima available at Miami Lakes Automall

With the 2017 model-year right around the corner, it’s a good time to take a look at some of the 2016 models before they’re replaced. Today we’re putting the spotlight on the Kia  Optima and some of the benefits a driver can still get before showrooms and dealership lots are flooded with 2017 models. Take a look at some of the specs drivers don’t want to miss out on with the 2016 Kia Optima.

Three Engines to Choose From

It’s not uncommon to see a vehicle available with different engines on different trims, and the Kia Optima is no exception. Starting with the base trim, Kia Optima LX, the standard engine is a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve I-4 engine. The same engine also comes standard on the Kia Optima EX series. “DOHC” stands for “Double Overhead Camshaft”, meaning the engine has two camshafts versus one, and will outperform vehicles with a single overhead camshaft due its optimization of performance and fuel efficiency.
