The new 2021 Kia Sorento has a lot to love in the next generation for this SUV. With Kia Motors highlighting the Sorento and the many new additions, there is one newcomer we haven’t seen much of. We’re talking about X-Line trims. Way back in 2019, once the new Kia Soul debuted, Kia Motors launched an ad highlighting the GT-Line, X-Line, and the EX Designer Collection. Each breed will add an assortment of features to its respective model, but some are more obvious than others. A Kia GT trim gets a high-power GT engine, whereas the EX Designer Collection adds all kinds of premium and luxury creature comforts to bring the mid-trim level EX up a notch. The X-Line has been a bit of a sleeper, adding off-road equipment like fog lights, a rounded grille, unique wheels, and a roof rail for a more rugged look. Here’s hoping the new Kia Sorento X-Line has more to offer.
There hasn’t been much talk about the upcoming 2021 Kia Sorento since the prototype was first spotted in the summer of 2019. Sure, there have been some spy shots and quick looks at the vehicle, but most of it in camouflage. Sure, we see the basic size and shape of the vehicle, but with all the recently appearing design cues in the Kia Motors lineup, surely there’s more to the new Sorento than meets the eye. And so the rendering artists from the Russian website Kolesa took their digital paintbrush and rendered what the new crossover could like under all those sheets. Could this be the new 2021 Kia Sorento?
A rendering is a rendering, and that’s all it ever will be. Let’s point this out now, especially because it’s an unofficial render. Whether or not this is the future of the popular Kia crossover we can’t say with 100-percent certainty. We can say, given all of the information about the new designs Kia Motors is implementing in its vehicles, such as a shift from the tiger-nose grille to a tiger-face front fascia, these artists were able to give the render some realistic appeal with all the clues and spy shots that teased the new Sorento design.
When it comes to finding an SUV that isn’t just powerful but also serves as a family or passenger-vehicle, it may be a little tough for consumers to wade through the waters of a saturated auto market. Some vehicles do stand out, but when they all look alike, it’s a little tough to spot the differences. With the 2019 model year coming up, some automakers, like Kia Motors, are coming out with their usual models, but some are getting a little refresh to highlight what makes them great and get a little of the spotlight shining their way. The 2019 Kia Sorento is one of those vehicles.
Let’s put it all out there! No secrets between us. The new 2019 Kia Sorento has a starting MSRP of $25,990 (plus destination fee) with a range of six trims that barely touch $50k. There’s plenty of options between trims for consumers to get what they’re looking for, and it’s all possible on a decent salary. Consumers won’t have to penny-pinch to get a little luxury in their life in the Kia Sorento.
When the auto market gets competitive, pricing isn’t the only thing fiddled around with. The second-best way to win over new consumers is to offer them more for less. So why not make more features standard instead of optional add-ons? The 2019 Kia Sorento comes with automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, solar control and privacy glass, and seven-inch touchscreen with UVO Play, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities all standard.
Just because Kia has been busy introducing new models like the Kia Stinger, Kia Niro and Niro Plug-In Hybrid, doesn’t mean they are letting their other models fall by the wayside. In fact, Kia has just recently introduced a sketch of the official new design of the Kia K900 as well as announced new changes to the 2019 Kia Sorento.
2019 Kia Sorento Upgrades
Ranked Highest in Initial Quality in the midsize SUV class in the 2017 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study and rated number one in its class by the U.S. News and World Report, there’s not much doubt about the quality of the Kia Sorento, but Kia has recently announced they have plans to make 2019 Kia Sorento models even better.
There have been several changes made to the interior and exterior of the SUV. New for 2019, all Kia Sorento models will come standard with three rows of seats and seating for seven passengers. There are new added Driver Assistance Systems, a new available Harman Kardon-audio system with QuantumLogic as well as new wireless charging capabilities.
Drivers will benefit from the redesigned dashboard including a new steering wheel design, new shifter knob and a redesigned instrument cluster, and all passengers will benefit from the new air conditioning and heating options that will help to ensure everyone stays comfortable in their own zone.
Exterior changes include a facelift to the front end of the vehicle completed with a new headlamp and grille design. The exterior features a new bumper, a more refined tail lamp design and a revised liftgate. The Sorento will also have three new wheel designs.
All-new Kia K900
The Kia K900 is a high-end luxury full-size sedan made by one of the most trusted and dependable automakers in the industry. Aside from the information that can be gathered from the released sketch, there aren’t too many details known about the features or qualities of the new K900, but Autoguide.com has suggested that the new model will be unveiled at the 2018 New York International Auto Show.
The sketch of the new model shows an updated front fascia and grille that is a lot more elongated than the front end of the current model. According to Kia, the new front end design include the ‘Quadric pattern’ grille, which it says has 176 jewel-shaped cells, along with the ‘Duplex comet’ headlamps and various chrome trim. According to Autoguide.com, the new model is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2018.
