Ever since its release, the Kia Telluride, the largest SUV in the automaker’s lineup, has been renowned worldwide. Winning awards left and right, the model earned itself the “Triple Crown” of Automotive Awards in 2019, winning the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year from North American Car of the Year (NACTOY award, named as the MotorTrend SUV of the Year, and landing on a Car and Driver 10 Best list. We don’t see the attention dying down any time soon, and the Telluride was named the Best 3-Row Midsize SUV by Kelley Blue Book (KBB) in December 2021, and the automotive reviewer of the same name just called the Kia Telluride one of the Best Family Cars of 2022. No surprise here, as this marks the third year the vehicle has taken top honors during this KBB awards list.

“The award-winning Telluride has been impressing industry experts and consumers alike since going on sale three years ago…With an unrivaled combination of value, comfort, utility and convenience, we are confident that Kia’s largest SUV will continue to succeed in a highly competitive segment, and this latest award from Kelley Blue Book is proof.” Not surprisingly, 93 percent of Telluride owners rate ‘usefulness for carrying passengers and cargo’ either truly outstanding or excellent, higher than all other competitors in the segment. – Steven Center, COO and EVP, Kia America

Kia Corp has been very busy as of late, starting to deliver on the all-electric lineup promised years ago when the automaker announced that it was going to become an all-electric automotive brand. The Kia EV6 is just the start of electric vehicles (EVs) to soon make up the majority of the lineup, if not a large percentage. According to the Kia Corp Plan S Strategy, at least 11 EVs should be released by 2025, but that semiconductor chip shortage is affecting everybody. How any automaker can keep up with the increasing demand for EVs and green solutions is a mystery, but Kia Corp charges forth with an EV SUV and a new favorite on the horizon.

Following the EV6, and how can you top that? The South Korean automaker has already announced that an electrified version of the subcompact Seltos crossover is already on the timeline for the next EV to join the lineup, set to launch in 2022. Perhaps this is Kia Corp tinkering around with the E-GMP platform that made the EV6 possible. First, we start with an electric large car – not quite small enough to be a sedan, it’s more or less a hatchback. That makes perfect sense then to slowly move the size of the vehicle up by first adopting the new platform for a small crossover. One would say the next one on the list should be a full crossover or small SUV, but inside sources say a full-size SUV is planned to debut for the 2023 or 2024 model year.

Summer is here and things are just starting to heat up. Yeah, you know it South Florida, and it’s going to be a hot one this year. Things don’t cool down much when the sunsets either, but Kia Motors is planning to bring some chill to the summer this year anyways with the upcoming 2020 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition. It’s about time the Kia Telluride got its own special edition vehicle, with all of the awards and accolades tied to the name, the Kia Telluride is the largest SUV in the Kia Motors lineup and is known by many.

The most recent success for the 2020 Kia Telluride was being named the 2020 NEMPA Winter SUV of the Year by the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) during their annual Winter Vehicle Driving Event. This award is among being named MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year, “North American Utility Vehicle of the Year”, and Car and Driver’s 10 Best, earning the Telluride the “Triple Crown” of Automotive Awards, as well as being named World Car of the Year. Like we said, it’s about time the SUV got a new special edition of its own.

Wow, did Kia Motors blow the roof off of the SEMA 2018 Auto Show or what? Even if the Specialty Equipment Market Association isn’t known for automotive parts (which we doubt, given the reception of the auto show), Kia Motors still made a statement when they rolled in with five concepts for their upcoming Kia Telluride SUV. We also got to see a modified Kia Stinger GT by DUB Magazine, and most importantly, the first bits of the new Kia GT Lineup. What? You haven’t heard? Oh yeah, Kia Motors is all about Gran Turismo cars now.

Showing up at SEMA 2018 was none other than the Kia Forte GT, having previously debuted in Korea and now in America. There were only small tidbits released from the show at first – 201hp turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, a set of 18-inch wheels – that’s all good. What else?

Then the press release from Kia Media came out, and hoo-boy, does it got some serious specs to share. 2020 is going to be a fun year for Kia Motors, with the Kia Forte GT and 2020 Kia Soul slated to come out soon, with the latter showing up at the 2018 LA Auto Show at the end of November, 2018. No joke, this Forte is already looking amazing.

“The fantastic capabilities of our team of engineers really shined in the development of the Stinger and we’re thrilled to continue injecting a bit more sport into some of the other models in the lineup…Whether you want a practical commuter or performance compact sedan, there’s now a Forte that appeals to several types of car shoppers. The Forte is already one of our top sellers, and we believe adding more diversity to the model line will appeal to a broader range of consumers.” – Orth Hedrick, executive director, Car Planning and Telematics, KMA.
